  1. Sure RS... you have about a 500-1000m walk from where you will most likely be set up though  We should organise a portable down at the fish ponds... it would be handy at times
  2. I am a country girl who is most often found in jeans (and covered in dirt courtesy of the ponies...) so my Kelpies suit me perfectly :) Not sure what I consider the stereotypical owner of a Lappy to look like
  3. Congratulations Sway :) What are their temperaments like? They look like a spunky dog :D Can they do agility?? :D
  4. Woohoo CareyJ! You would hope with 10 in the litter you shouldn't miss out I can't wait to see photos when you little munchkin arrives :) Emery, of course they do something so they aren't at their best for the big shows  We were very happy when Anikka came into season as it meant she had over a month to then be good for Melbourne :) Fingers crossed she doesn't dump any more coat though! Suvi should finish her season in another week and we have everything crossed that Lumi doesn't come in until we are back in WA! With 3 entire males going over the last thing we want is an in season bitch since it will already be hard enough juggling dogs between the two yards since a few can't be in together Oh... and I am assuming Jive won't decide to have her first season at 5 months So who is going retrieving this Sunday? And my excitement for the weekend... getting grey hairs watching my 4 month old kelpie launch herself at the cattle grid (about 1.5m wide) While she only made it 2/3 of the way over she did manage to come out unscathed luckily! Then on Saturday I got to deal with parking at the RAAF airshow ( to Emery) which added a few more grey hairs when everyone tried to leave at once!
  5. You can wear her out for me Jumabaar ;) I forgot how much energy she has as Anikka kept her entertained during the day while she was here  GoldenWei, well done on your first points She is certainly a lovely looking girl :)
  6. Why aren't they doing it on the weekend when people can actually get down to look - and when it won't be so cold? I don't even get home from work until 6.30pm if I leave at my "official" time
  7. So how many weekends a year do you think a house close to KCC park with fully enclosed front and backyard would be booked if set up? My aunt has a house and she is tossing up turning it into dog friendly accommodation for dog shows after talking to my Mum
  8. It is closer but ACWA has previously been much better set up LOL
  9. Is the agility on Tuesday nights as well? I am tempted to rejoin Midland rather than going to ACWA
  10. I can't wait to see all the Lappies! Although I do keep scratching my head about why I am taking Jive over when she can only do 1 show out of the 3  I would stress if I left her at home though - the adult dogs I can cope with :D You definitely need to come to Perth Royal one year! You can ask Jacq - we are very welcoming to ES visitors
  11. Weasels, at least this time there is a Kelpie in the photo too
  12. Showdog, it doesn't take my friend much if anything over an hour to get to Canine from Chittering and that is another 10 mins North from Bullsbrook (where Pearce airbase is). We drive on those roads regularly and at the times you tend to go to shows/trials the road are usually fine. The only issue is Friday evening events :) A lot of people who live that way don't go to Midland, they drive West and go shopping in Joondalup or Wanneroo :) Just depends what habit they get into LOL.
  13. Not really LOL. I know quite a few people who live further out than the base and regularly compete in dog showing  I probably live a similar distance although slightly different direction... Midland is the closest Club to Pearce (30 mins or less) with Northern Suburbs being not too much further and depending on where exactly you are based it is likely to be closer. Southern River, where most of the competitions are held and there are more training Club, is 1 hour at most from Pearce airbase :) I will be at Pearce on Saturday doing parking for their Airshow
  14. Sorry We book in January I think... Didn't want the WA dogs who are used to sleeping inside to have to deal with Victoria in June outside! It will be cold enough as it is We found another place who don't advertise dogs allowed inside but when we explained the above we were told ok as long as they are in crates... they have outside kennels you can use as well. Hopefully I will remember when I get home and I will PM you their name to try.
  15. Ditto me with herding... except it isn't so much the money for me but the time Takes a long time for me to drive to Mandurah! The times I have gone I have had to pretty well devote the whole day to it which I can't do very often
  16. Woohoo! Well done with both titles!
  17. We are staying at the same place Ptolomy posted when we go over in another month Half of us drive for nearly an hour to get to shows in WA so we decided 30 minutes was a luxury
  18. Rolf is lovely And that photo with the cats is gorgeous
  19. Woohoo! Well done Nazrelle! I had a good weekend with my crew :) Young Taavi (Lappy) yesterday won Puppy Sweepstakes out of approx 30 puppies then backed it up with BOB - so you could say his owner was happy LOL. Then today Miss Jive (Kelpie) was 4th out of 31 Baby Puppies in Sweeps! And was looked at for a long time by the judge in Baby IG but by that time she was over it so after a bit didn't want to stack any more LOL Not that I blame her as it was her 4th time in the ring :p
  20. Well done to Tempe! That is a fabulous amount of points! We were happy with Miss Anikka being on 81 points at 9 months and that is with mainly 8point BCC or 11+ point BOBs She has yet to be beaten fo BCC ;) Although if she only gets BCC at the next two WA shows and doesn't get BCC at any of the shows in Vic then I have told her owner she can't be shown at the next show in June as that would be her title and I can't be there then
  21. So are all 3 puppies staying Ptolomy? They certainly are (gorgeous) time wasters :)
  22. Jive is great AP :) Although she loses her "squeeky toy" (aka Anikka) after this weekend so it will be interesting to see how much more hyperactive she is when I get home  It will also be interesting to hear how Ani does without her "chew toy" (aka Jive) We leave for Melbourne in 4 weeks and I am starting to stress about what we have to do to get ready  At least I don't have to train anything as they just run around on the end of a lead :D But we have accommodation booked, flights booked (including dogs), car booked, entries sent (and 2 of the 3 shows have confirmed receipt of the entries), just need to pay for the after show dinner, sponsorship and advertising now I think...
  23. Nova is looking great And Neville is such a cutey Well done to Panda as well on her RBCC :)
  24. Good news Ness MG, fun times looking for property :D Spending the money is the scary bit  I have just been busy at work... although a slightly slack day today as my patient was meant to be from 1-5pm is and she has already gone home coz she is sick. Hope it isn't contagious Oh, and then busy when I get home playing with Jive and Anikka. I will be sorry to send Ani home on the weekend as she is lots of fun to train (I am going to try and get her ready for CCD at the WC next year...) :D And she keeps Jive exercised and so Jive is quiet by the time we get home
  25. Lots of good thoughts going Kenz's way!
