I took him to my usual vet. Over the fone they said they would just scan him and then let us worry about finding his owners, not actually take him !! I guess i was naive and as my brother has said - i am too trusting.. i trusted a system which doesn't work ! (In my eyes) I wish we'd gone to a small dodgy vet that couldn't have cared less that we'd found him.. Yes.. His last stop was THE LOST DOGS HOME I was not sure whether to post the pound or not.. What does it matter now. He's gone I wasn't positive if he was a pure pitbull, he had floppy-ish ears .. i guess i was dumb for taking him and handing him over. I thort i was doing the right thing. My brother was hesitant but i told him we had to get him checked for a microchip and we couldn't just keep some ones dog.. This boy has made such a huge impact on us. He will stay in our hearts :D

RIP SWEET PIT (Boy/Bob) I screwed up. I Should hav just kept him, desexed him, microchipped him and spoilt him rotten ! My brother is distraught.. its tough seeing a 29yr old almost in tears with anger and frustration Too sad. I too am very frustrated and disappointed.. with myself and the sytem which euthanased him this morning (Beautiful black boy,approx 18months) I asked for a copy of a temp test report, they said NO. They said he was dog aggressive and attacked another dog. I asked if the other dog was injured, (NO) i asked if he lunged at the dog and made contact (NO) Did he growl at the dog ? (Not going into this any further...) This boy was lost. Taken into my care. Fed and given a bed late at nite. Taken to the vet to check for microchip. Signed over to vet (Should hav left with him there and then) TAKEN to local council pound for 1 day. Taken approx 45 mins across town to another pound. Kept locked up for 8 days. Would u growl at a dog/or person u didn't know if u were in his position ?? Would u be upset and not ur usual self ?? If i was being kept in a strange place, confused and scared, i too would deserve to be killed - because i know that i would hav had enuf too ! A VICIOUS DOG AGRESSIVE PITBULL Sorry everybody. I needed to vent. I let him down. NO, THE SYSTEM LET HIM DOWN ! There are a lot of dogs out there that don't get along. I currently own a dog/fear aggressive dog. I AM WORKING TO CHANGE THIS ! It can be done ! And i would hav worked with the Pit boy :D

My brother has been phoning to see how he is every second day. We were told we could visit and take a toy.. but today we should hear from them to tell us the outcome of Release or PTS.. :s We hav offered the money to hav them desex and microchip him ! We are not interested in breeding him ! We are not interested in 'fighting' him ! WE JUST WANT HIM ALIVE AND SAFE ! I don't really know about testing that they've done - hopefully he didn't react badly.. I will try update more 2nite ! If every1 could be thinking of this boy and hav their fingers and toes and everything crossed today, i am very appreciative. Thank-you.

Thank you for helping this boy, as he may have ended up as road kill or in the wrong hands, It's a shame he wasn't chipped so could be traced back to owner. I think you've done the best you could possible do, in these circumstances, BSL sucks, and is just beyond sad to see so many of these guys PTS based purely on looks alone I hope he is given a chance of re homing, fingers crossed Thank u RnR. I hav tried to tell myself i did good but if teh outcome means PTS then i'm feeling terrible already. I guess had i done nothing he could hav been hit by a car or even frightened somebody not particularly a dog lover.. I'm also feeling that his 'owners' hav done him an injustice by not micro chipping him or desexing or council registering I am a little suspicious of the chain he seems to hav broken away from too. I am hoping to god that he gets a 2nd chance.. begging for him to be classified as a lab cross.. passes the tests.. etc etc

Pandii, I thank u for taking the time to read this. I just needed to let it all out, write it down.. I hav cried pretty much for 4 days.

I hav never posted in this section before. I'm sorry if it is wrong to do so. I found a dog.. I thort it was American Staffy.. maybe Pit Bull :s No matter what breed i wanted to help it. Get it off the road. Out of the Dark. And find its home. It had broken off its chain. He had a collar as well as another chain. He was barking, howling and creating a nuisance. It was night time. I approached him. He was very scared. I was gentle and spoke softly. He had a look in his eyes. I couldn't completely trust this dog. I didn't know it. The dangling chain made him on edge. Entire male. I managed to clip a leash onto his collar. Once i got the dangling chain off him he was much calmer and wanted to be patted. The following day i asked my brother to help me door knock around my local area. I knew i had to get this dog checked for a micro chip. My brother came with me and sat with the dog in the car. At the vet me and my brother had to fill in our details and sign handover forms They didn't scan him. They said they were bound by law to take the dog because it was a stray. I knew then that this boy was in trouble. We couldn't grab him bak and walk out of there. He wasn't ours. But i feel like i've signed a death wish We expressed to them that we wanted to know what would happen to him. We told them we would hav him desexed, microchipped, registered with the council and kept in a loving secure home if not claimed. He went to the local pound. No microchip. One minute they said he looks to be Pit x Lab.. and i thought that might help. Now it seems he has gone to a bigger pound and has to go thru the stages of special testing to deem him fit to go bak into society etc. It really doesn't look good. I am devastated and will not forgive myself if this boy is Put to Sleep because of what he 'IS' ... I don't know what to do. We hav been told to wait the 8 to 10 days to hear from them.. Can everyone please hav this boy in ur thoughts. And all Pitbulls. This has really touched me and i want to fight BSL.

I hav used Eaglepack holistic (the anchovy one) for my pei. They did well on it in regards to nice shiney coat and no alergies but after a while on it i could hear their stomachs squelching ! Upset tummies and gas ! (Mite just be the fish.. and protein?) Hav u thort about Nutrience Derma (for skin, lamb based) or Nutrience Holistic ? which has a load of really good healthy ingredients - Sorry i can't put my hands on the ingredients atm. Do a web search on Nutrience Holistic. I've seen Artemis but haven't tried it and don't know much about it. Will hav to check it out ! I hav one pei on a mix of Pro Plan Chicken and Science Diet Oral, and the other on Nutrience Derma (Lamb) and Science Diet Oral. Another good one you could look into is Nutro and u can get small samples to try

I would not have a clue where to find one sorry. When I was looking for a costume once on those dodgy sites I notice a lot cater for dog costumes as well so maybe do a google search, you should find one, prob overseas. Good luck, otherwise there is always a doona.... LOL If you look hard you will spot a warm happy Dashie...... I knew Roc would be keeping Ralphy nice and cozy

Rocco1 i'd definitely buy a book with ur photography ! Dogs or other ! :D I especially like the Sausage Roll and the Laundry Bra Basket !!! I was wondering if u know of a 'Hot dog' costume i could buy. A friend really wants one for his Dachy I hope the RocMan is keeping Ralph warm !

If ur dog doesn't chew alot of bones u could also try Science Diet Oral dry food The kibble is large and round and works by alowing the dogs teeth to crunch into each peice and help remove plaque. Sorry not a very good explanation. :D Do a search for Science Diet Oral. I add 10 to 15 Oral kibble ontop of our regular dry food for my 4.5 year old pei who isn't good with chewing bones.
