  13. thanx heaps for the offer SnT but im in newcastle.... we have a great club here but me and mum feel that if we get the owners in when they are younger we will boost our membership rates and also try and convince people to stick with the club as there dogs get older and participate in some doggy sports

  15. hi guys just wonderin if anyone here is involved with the setting up/structuring of puppy preschool classes? the obedience club i go to are considering holding classes as at the moment we only start dogs from 16 weeks in basic obedence. There is a huge need for it in the area i feel as alot of vets are holding ones that are...welll....CRAP, some of the vet nurses wouldnt even know which is there left foot . The first thing im sure that will be suggested is a clean area which is fine we have a huge room out the back of the club house that could easily be cleaned with the apropriate chemicals prior to class so if any on is involved and can help me out with what you think a good class needs your advise would be very much apperciated!!! and if anyone knows where you get the little puppy packs that they give out that would be awesome!! thanx in advance!!!

  17. hi guys thanks for everyones help levi now knows that when i say mat that he has to go straight on his mat!!!! and the lead work is getting better at the moment hes on a soft martingale but am going to invest i think in an all chain one after hes learnt how to walk on his lead abit better.
  18. guess it just depends on preference i wouldnt swap group training for anything but thats just me!!!
  19. thanx K9 how do the martigales that are all chain go any better than the chain with nylon? he is crate trained and last night he slept his first night OUT of my room (his crate used to be in my room) and he went well hes a real big sook probably cause i made him tht way but hes getting better when hes inside of a day he has a matt he is ment to lie on i just cant get him to stay there very long unless hes buggered guess i just need to keep working on it after all he is only 5 months!!!
  20. kool thank i will have a look at one of those....
  21. ok so basically im trying to teach levi that lounges and chairs are for humans n cats not for big boof heads so i got him a mat today one of those cushion ones and i am trying to teach him to stay on it any tips on this process would be greatly appreciated!!! also i'd love some tips on lead training, basically he will heal, sit, and drop in perfect position, but this is only with the lead OFF you put the lead on and he is a different dog, ive tried a check chain and he choked himself ive tried a soft collar and he choked himself, this is with me trying to motivate him with a food or toy he is just constantly pulling, have him currently on a gentle leader and he hangs his head and hates it despite my best efforts of keeping him motivated. Any suggestions for how to get him to like his lead? and what would the best collar/check chain to use on a big boof head or should i just keep trying with a check chain?
  22. why would ur dog not be acepted at a dog obedience club, plenty of anti social dogs at the dog training i attend, and im still curious as to wether u are still rehoming this dog ?
