Yeah same with rare breeds, never get looked at in a group line up. I assume from the a LH Wei would be classed as a rare breed??? Ahh well, I am not expecting a look in anyway... just want to have fun and meet more doggy people :D Wei's seem to do well at group level...normal haired ones do anyway not sure about the longys? Was it like the one off ebay or are there others around? I got mine from a dog show. Kicking myself because at the xmas show last year they had all size pens for $110...realllly kicking myself The look a like ones are the same sizes generally so you can get the crate/pen covers, my pen is the exact same size as the largest CCrate. LOL why pay $300 for the same thing but different name for $100-$200 cheaper? This is what I keep thinking, its really is a big price difference!

ooo thanx for that, I have sent a question in regards to weight to see if its alot heavier than the ccrate ones. One reason I want on is because I cant keep lugging her MASSIVE metal crate everywhere I swear it weights like 30kilos its sooo freaking heavy and my arms are still aching from carrying it around this weekend...that and trying to contain the very excited pointee who insisted on bounce bounce bouncing everywhere we went! Get a little hand trolley?? I just plonk our pen ontop of the show trolley and wheel it around. Or carry it if I don't have far to go- but this is difficult not because it's heavy, but because it's wide and I'm short so it's only about an inch of the ground when tucked under my armpit so it often bangs into the ground which hurts Oh good thinking, will have a show trolley in a few weeks if all goes well so I guess weight wont be that big of a deal as it can go in or on that.

Yeah not sure that it will fit in the trailer but will definately fit in the car. Trying to decided wether to get the pointer that and another soft crate or just that...its so hard spending $$ on the dogs, NOT!

Hi all, Just after abit of advise, I need a pen for shows for the pointer I have been looking at the C-crate secura pens these http://www.ccrates.com.au/store/index.htm?83.htm&1 for those who dont know but found these http://cgi.ebay.com.au/MEDIUM-Enclosed-Pet...=item5ad5cbe0c4 ones on ebay obviously there is a large price difference. I am happy to pay the extra for the c-crate pen if its going to be worth it in the long run but if the ebay one is of decent quality aswell I may as well save a few dollars! So can anyone tell me the good bad and ugly in regards to these pens? Edited to fix the links!

yeah i'd like to thank poo cow for the pic of kite in the ring also... Would love to post it for all to see but Kite being the flip that she is she does look fairly retarded! Stephs photo skills deserve a big thumbs up thou, like I said you did the best with what you had to work with when it came to Kite give me a few more months of whipping my butt into gear and we might get a few pics of kite that are decent enough to post!

i think this is the stuff we feed at work (kennels), and i hate the smell LOL so cant use it for my own dogs but the work dogs go well on it!

What kind of dog do you have? Is your breeder happy for you to show her. As a very wise person told me today - 'There is no such thing as a perfect dog' - every dog is going to have faults, you just have to learn how to show off their good points. My dog is a Pomeranian, she has lack of coat, stands low on her pasterns, big ears and her tail doesnt sit against her back like other poms its like a fountain, apparently there are things I can do to improve her look...but im not sure how. she is also to long in the body and weighs a bit to much. She is on a full register. I dont think the breeder cares, what people do with her dogs. I would look for a breeder who can mentor you and show you how to show and groom your dog so it looks the best it can. I probably wouldnt show your current dog but if you are that eagar to get in the ring go for it, everyone has to start somewhere!

I dont have a problem with people advertising the crap out of their dogs, hey if you got the money go for it. But I think the bigger issue lies with the judges, dont put something up just because you saw in the latest mag that its doing well, just judge the dog as you see it on the day! If a ajudges is worried about picking the wrong thing and looking silly they really shouldnt be judging full stop. They should have the "balls" to stand up and say this is who I'm choosing because its the best thing I've seen today!
