Beg to differ nothing worse than a mal that hasnt been bathed .they stink something chronic. I remember in the show ring many moons ago a few select mal exhibitors who didnt bath & the dogs where sent out & those unlucky to be set up next to them having to put up with ahorrid smell. We boarded a Mal that hadnt been bathed & smelt like undried dirty washing ,awful smell. Show mals are bathed weekly so the oils part has nothing to do with it BUT often there is alot of dog & people dont wish to dry them especially in winter so they get wet & stay damp stinkies Totally agree, when I was mobile grooming I managed to talk a few Mal and Sibe people that beleived the less washing the better theory into getting their dogs washed more reguarly and they were more than pleased with the results most became fans of fortnighty washs and their coats never suffered, infact they had never looked better!!!

I was going to say the same thing! Grey could definately work. You could consider pointers, maybe meet a few! Very loving dogs big with out being huge and fun and entertaining without being too lazy or too energetic!

No idea but I wouldnt be leaving my dog there! I dont care if its inspection by a time or inspection when ever but no inspections at all is abit suss!

What you have said is fair enough you know your dogs. BUT I think what you were asking was unreasonable... like Greytmate has already covered kennels have closing hourse for a reason! My boss can sound rather abrupt sometimes and Im sure some customers ( the ones that do annoying or rude things) find her rude but I think she does a great job considering the people she puts up with each and EVERYDAY, she is also excellent with the animals she wouldnt be doing it if she wasnt. Id definately be checking what was used on your dog why its wasnt bathed, especially if you paid for a bath.

Ditto to all of this! The only issue I can see here is that they werent washed when it was requested! Even the whole stretching thing, just cause the dog was having good stretch really means little I know alot of the dogs at work do this when being picked up but mostly because they have been laying down asleep when I have gone into get them. ETA, The kennels are at their nosiest when a dog is coming in or leaving, they wouldnt be allowed to be noise at night or they would be promptly shut down I would think!

Seriously you didnt find that guys impression of the dog funny? Sure the circumstance werent funny but that guys impression sure as hell was even his wife was holding back laughter The owners their dogs are going to end up dead if they dont wake upto themselves! The sons last comment "let me put it this way no one is taking my dog" hate to break it to ya buddy but yes they will if you dont wake up and smell the coffee!!!

I think the third dog was actually a Himalayan cat named Sassy? I remember in the book the older dog was a Bull Terrier and the younger dog was a Labrador Retriever and the cat was a Siamese. I like Eddie from Frasier! Yep your right...it was a cat!!!

Otis, is to blame for my obsession with puglets!!! Saw that movie when I was little ad was always promised a pug for my 21st and to my shock mum actually came thru on the promise!!! So I waited 10-15 yrs or something like that for my puglet! I must also give the for Shadow and Chance. Shadow was such a wise old owl and Chance forever the attention seeker and in your face. I so wanted an American Bulldog when I saw that movie and was disappointed that they were not ANKC recognised. I am also amazed that so many are brought in here despite that. Lassie and Big Red both won my heart at a very early age too. What was the third dog in homeward bound? I loved homeward bound...need to get it on DVD me thinks!

Yay!!! Cant help on Lessons but someone who knows may come along if there arnt any lessons close by could you put the word out on the show forum maybe someone close top you who has your breed or knows abit about showing your breed can help you out with some private lessons?

Fun times, but not a great deal of winning for us lot. Mums baby pug won his class which had three other dogs then also beat the bitch for baby of breed, we are happy with this as there are some top pug babies around atm, as the judge awarded him baby of breed he said "I'm going to give it to the dog because even thou hes going thru the ganglies his head is just stunning"! Kite preformed really well but got beat by her mother and another bitch owned by her breeder which was fine with me LOL I was just happy Kite behaved after have a few weeks off because of an injury! Was a good show thou I think we might camp next year and hang round for the rodeo...looked like abit of fun! Best in show was an afghan, cant remember what runner up was...Dotty might remember !

We will be at training TUESDAY night not tomoro night silly!!! (theres a small chance we may have to miss it but hopefully not) Next shows for us are gunnedah, then morriset then I'm not sure, I think theres a few Hills ones in one weekend...with international judges we will be doing most of those!

He is obviosuly sad because he knows he looks fat in that outfit...look at how the shirt is pushing his body fat up over the top, hes having a super bad case of muffin top around the neck...poor buggar!
