I have only known some pointers to drool and 99% of the time its because they are nervous or stressed and even then each pointer handles stress differently some will drool others wont, they really arnt known for being droolers!

Actually its funny you should say that! My english pointer is just like that shes gentler with small dogs and so great with little kids, its so odd its just like she knows they are small and knows not to jump or bump them. She adores my cousins who rang from 5-10yrs!

Exactly she should get papers as she has paid for them but the breeder is basically black mailing her. As for fair trading, how many times have we all read here ond DOL about how fair trading cant do jack? And also how many times have we heard the I got my puppy now I dont have papers! I'd bet serious moo-lah that this is how this will play out! These breeders sounds very dodgey and Id be requesting my money back and hope to hell they return it! Lets face it, if they can sit there now and say either you sign this contact or we dont give you papers (blackmail) what else are they capable of?

I've met some pretty rude Beagles. I have to agree with Kavik, sorry Wuffles love. I have met a LOT of beagles, in different places, situations and lines. I am yet to meet a single beagle who is well mannered or nice. They have all been rude, nasty and untrained/ignorant. They are pretty though. You cant have met too many beagles then. Beagles are ammoung one of the most popular dogs we get in at work and yes SOME can be rude or nasty as they lack socialisation and training but a well trained well adjusted beagle is a thing of beauty! Like any breed i guess! we have many that we run in play group, we currently have an entire 1yr old males whos allowed to run with 5 other dogs of around his size and hes fabulous!!!

Sad that shes already paid the money with out asking the questions, silly really! Personally I wouldnt go into a deal like that, I mean they are basically saying you do this or we dont give papers and thats BULL they should give papers regardless, any ethical breeder wouldnt be handling this situation like this. I've never owned a GSP, but the ones I have known have all been alot more energetic and over the top compared to english pointees. Given I dont have much experience with them I will just tell you my opinion on Pointers (of the english kind ) One of my pointers is only a baby so hard to say what sort of general character she will have but both my girls seem pretty similar temp wise (as they should be) . Both are goofy and LOOOVE other dogs and people. kite really LOVVVVES people especially people she deems hers!!! She is very affectionate and loves to give cuddles. I have never had a dog that was so good with other dogs, even the pugs have a tendancy to be abit rude towards other dogs. Kite is also a great bed dog Loves to sleep in the bed with me but is also just as happy to snuggle up in her crate! They have both been super easy to toilet train but their breeder starts them on toilet training early on so there was never really an issue. Both mine can run around the yard for ages but once they come inside and settle they are very easy to have around the house (see pic below for proof that they are lounge lizards) Honestly so far I cant fault the breed and reccommend them as much as possible! But still they arnt for everyone. If possible I would reccomend you meet some Pointers and some GSPs and compare them yourself.

Oh My pugs just don't like to run fullstop Your pugs are lazy sluggies thou I think my pugs are broken, especially Goat she has muscles on top of her muscles She so ripped and its simpley from all the running and tumbling she does with the pointers!

I was showing mums pug on the weekend and had a frankfurt in my hand and he jumped up trying to grab it and had a chomp on my finger instead...oops, it hurt like hell considering hes a little dude!

All breeders are different and have different ideas of who gets what money or pays what money. Tell your friend to ask the breeder straight up what the conditions are!

Kite goes snorkeling in water bowls. Goat does this weird belly crawl whilst making this rather odd howl grunt noise. Rebel does circles all the way from the kitchen or back door to her crate when shes being fed.

May be true in some breeds, but I have had a line of boxers, most of whom would gaily sail over tall fences - but only if left alone for what they considered "too long". One used to visit the neighbour. Another used to sit at the head of the drive from 4pm waiting for someone to return. Nothing wrong with their temperament .... but I understand and appreciate what you are saying. I've known dogs like that. Great post Jed and I 100% agree with what your saying.
