  2. Yeah Im sort of curious on what the differences are aswell, Ive never been in an open show. Ive never really heard of many to be honest!
  3. Looks awesome... Pointers are the best companions full stop no returns!

  8. Are we tarping tomoro? Im assuming that even thou its only a satdee show we can still tarp from 12 tomoro?
  9. Ofcourse I will be visiting MY BOY Toby... ;) I luvs him, glad hes coming! I may come over and steal him for walkies and cuddles! I know Niles is such a big boy now you guys just wait till you see him Im assuming he will be up against his daddy this weekend that could be rather interesting Wash and wear bec...wash and wear ;) If I ever the time to groom I think I will have to stick with the P breeds and get a peke
  10. The Ark, I keep forgetting to say congrats on Chesters Title! So BIGGGG CONGRATS to you both! We will be there on saturday! Hopefully its a good day with a few wins? Niles is up in minor now lets see if he can get himself a few points! And this will be Martha (hooters) 3rd show lets see if she can keep all four feet on the ground LOL!
  11. I voted No to both, if i had a dog that was either DA or HA Id avoid both of those situations purely for the safety of my dog!
  12. As far as my pugs go their breeders were mostly word of mouth or DOL! My pointees breeder I found on DOL and have already got a second from them!
  13. Maybe you should head to melbourne the weekend this http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=202025 is on to suss out breeds visit the family you mentioned in your OP! (I think they do their meets every month) You could meet some pointers and some lappies!!!! Plus lots of other DOL doggies!
  14. I cant remember if its ever been mentioned before fiveplusone so please excuse me if it has but your boys colours are more pointer like than GSP Ive never seen a GSP of his colour. Is the colour/markings common in GSPs? Is he a pure GSP? Its been mentioned alot! ;) I can't say he is definately purebred but I have owned 2 GSP's before and he looks very much like my first boy (who was also black but more black than white). His face is very GSP (ie roman nose rather than the "dish"??? shape of EP). I myself have never seen colouring like it before but I was recently looking at a UK breeders website and there were lots of GSP's that had the same colouring as Hugo, even some that had a lot less black than him. . You can't see from the photo that you have shown but he had lots of black spots/ticking on his back and legs and in fact as each month passes he gets more black spots. Just goes to show that I walk around here with my eyes closed half the time My new girl is ticked and I'm guessing will get more as she ages! I love ticking!!!! My older girl kite has a smidge of ticking (her father is HEAVILY ticked) but she looks more like her mum than her dad! I might go do some googling, Id like to see if I could find more about the colours and markings of GSPs its quite interesting! Just a note thou some pointers dont have the correct dish, its sad really as its such an important part of the breed. Joel you want to borrow a pointer for a little while? Im sure Kite would like to come visit aslong as she can sleep in the bed under the covers

  16. You might have to wait till your salvos/vinnies/samaratins have a sale on kiddies toys! I got lucky one day with fill a bag for $5 and then another time all toys $1, I got some awesome stuffed toys for the doggies most of which have survived LOL!
  17. I saw Fletchers win else where but previously forgot to comment! Well done! Such a great acheivement for some one who only started a year ago! And for such a young dog who probably wont be at his true best for another 12months+... I can see a BIS show in Fletchers future for sure! On the topic of newbie handlers doing well, at rylstone the other week we watched a lovely minor standard poodle take RUBIG this was his first show in minor AND his dad had only just started showing him I think it was his first weekend of showing or something like that and he was totally shocked to win which was awesome to see. Much better than the same old same old who dont even smile when they win!
  18. Kitey is getting closish to her title as well. New girl hooters debuts this weekend!
  19. Have read your update in the OP joel and I STILL think pointers are exactly what you are after! You seriously need to meet some to truely understand how perfect they are!!!
  20. thanks for your help, im still having trouble do all breeds shows mean ALL breeds with be there? oh and roughstock i am interested and checking out the beautiful staffies (and amstaffs) do they get shown at the same shows? i also travelling to newcastle quite a bit, do they still have shows at the doggie place there (hillsborough-i think). sorry lol i've got no idea All breeds CAN be entered at all breeds show but doesnt mean that they will be, just depends on who enters. next hills show is the 14th of august its a double header (so an AM show and a PM show) so should be a decent entry, and they are usually staffords and amstaffs at most shows in the newcastle and syndey areas! :D
  21. Bad idea if the OP doesn't want to be clipping. Oops, missed that. I still think they are brilliant thou If you dont want to clip I would definately be going the cav, but note that some cavs have thicker fur than others and some people insist on clipping cavs even when they dont need it, plus a cav would need his or her feet trimmed to keep them tidy!
  22. I have no idea, personally I prefer cavs over cockers. From the ones Ive worked with they have had calmer more even temprements. Have you looks at american cockers? I would have an american cocker in an instant if I could, but seeings the only dogs walking thru this door from now on will be show potential and i cant see me dealing with the grooming of an american cocker in full coat, it wont be happening!!!! Beautiful dogs!
