:p We occasionally do the motel thing as we cant be stuffed camping so the price of camp sites doesnt really bother me cause its always wayyyy cheaper than a motel! Dont blame you liking your creature comforts camping can be such a PITA some times I agree with this! Loving $8 entry fees and I just wish I had a baby puppy atm so I could take advantage of the $5 entry! -
Yeps pointers would suit you prefectly Mixy! Wonderful dogs, mine are serious couch potatos and are the most smoochiest dogs ever! Mine wont destroy the house if they dont get a big chunk of exercise but also do love exercise so its definately a happy medium. They are fantastic with kids (if thats in your plans at all) mine are excellent with other dogs, I can take them anywhere and know I wont have any issues. They are a true wash and wear breed, so easy to bath and after a quick towel dry are dry in like 10 minutes. They LOVE their people! Training wise Kite has been harder to train because I never really tried to train her properly, she does random thing like fetch but will only fetch a certain ball and only up and down the hall way :D She doesnt sit but stands wonderfully and drops :D she speaks when I tell her too. My new girl Hootie is fabulously smart, (to the point where she makes me think kite only has half a brain) she sits, waits for food comes when called (very well and shes only 7 months). I am thinking of doing some sort of trialing with the smart one. Kite on the other hand I would love to try at feild work or something cause shes amazing to watch, she stalks and points so well these days! :D If you want and more info let me know!

I would be incline to think maybe it is dominace and that Byron thinks Bella is a different dog whom he needs to make sure hes the boss of? but I could be totally off base there! Whats he like with strange dogs in general does he get alittle humpy? he could always just be totally jealous and humping her seems like the right way to bring her down a peg LOL -
Got mine just now also!

My Husband Wants Me To Re-home Ollie
Nevafollo replied to HugUrPup's topic in General Dog Discussion
They do shed alot, usually more un-noticeable (because alot of people where darker colours or have darker colour houses or floors ect) COAT - Fine, smooth, soft, short and glossy, neither harsh nor woolly. My pugs both have short fine coats so whilst they shed they dont do the shedding some pugs do. My mum recently rehomed a pup that didnt work out show wise and his coat wasnt wooly but it was alot thicker than I personally like. Again I wouldnt shave a pug IF puggerups son is allergic to the hair he will still have a reaction to the short hairs as Ollie isnt going to magically stop shedding, the hairs will just be short little splinter hairs! -

That looks normal to me... only I have a mix of black and fawn! My girls arnt very wooly thou, really a fair few pugs have incorrect coats which means a hell of alot more shedding. Some are like little wooly mammoths! -

Please dont shave him, you could make things worse and frankly he will still shed, just tiny little hairs which i would think would be even worse for an allergy sufferer. I groom and suffer from hayfever and with certain dogs when I clip them the tiny hairs get up my nose and drive me insane! -

He has always had a shedding problem, but the Summer months he is worse. I was denial about the asthma and sons allergies being related, but both flared up during our first Summer with him and then went away during the cooler months and returned again. Now it's returned with a vengeance and Ollies shedding seems worse too. I can't clip him as he has a double thick short coat. His shedding isn't the usual pug shedding, he has an actual "problem". I just can't imagine ever saying goodbye to him you know? He's got such a wonderful personality and awesome smile. he grabs my wrists for a pat and follows me around everywhere. He checks the mail with me and follows me to the bins outside. He never runs off.. he never bites, rarely barks... He's the perfect dog :D :p Are you 100% sure? honestly it sounds to me like normal pug shedding (pug shedding is hard to get ya head around until you actually live thru it with pug hair on EVERYTHING) and with it being end of winter start of summer its time for their coat drop. I would suggest you get him diagnoised by a vet if you havent already. Really if you are going to rehome him and he is sick or does have a prolem the new owers need to be full aware of what they are dealing with, I would hate for Ollie to be rehomed then rehomed again and again if he really does have a bad shedding issue. -

Hes a pug they ALL have shedding problems! Sounds like a sh!t situation for both you and Ollie but sometimes these things are unavoidable. If you definately have to rehome Ollie please try and keep in your mind that whilst you will be an absolute mess, Ollie is a young dog who will most likely adapt very very well to a new home. Did the vet indicate wether theres actually something WRONG with Ollie that makes him shed so much, with out seeing him in person its hard to say but pug shedding is just crazy and this time of year its even worse so could just be Ollie being a pug? -
Haven't got mine either yet Rain!

Sorry but the "white newfoundlands" definately do not look pure, they dont even look like they might just be bad examples of the breed. becks what do they cross the Schnauzers with to get the merle colour? -

Yes I think my kids will give a little something to each of their friends, probably some home made doggie biscuits or something. -
Mum gets the nice looking mutt/cross breed/rescue you got there comment all the time about her PBGV and yes not alot of people know what they are so we just brush it off opr explain what he is. For ever getting the ugly comments on the pugs, one time i snaped back at a particuarly skanky girl "looked in the mirror lately" in hind sight there was no need for it but I was having a crap day! The pointers generally get great comments people love them, one did get mistaken for a mini great dane once...hmm ok!

Ahk, it's been a while since I went to training at r/terrace, so they may have stopped. It used to be on of a weds night. Like The Ark said, hills is a lot better anyway, I only went to the terrace for convenience and it didnt help me a whole lot, they didn't have a proper set up so you dont really get an idea of anything (if you are a complete newbie like me!) and the trainer wasn't the most reccomendable! Im from raymond terrace. Is hills training this tuesday? If it's nice weather and I have a chance of meeting a neo baby I might just go!! How old is your baby? any photos?! Yes tomorrow night if im correct, i can't make it now as we were meant to pick up our 4wd from the mechanics today but wont be ready til end of week now, bummer! was to be my first night of learning, as my next show is this sunday and i dont know what im doing There are photos in the breed sub forum - neapolitan mastiff Hi Rain, Shame you cant make training tonight as we are going! We will be at the show on sunday (mum and I) not showing just watching so if you need any help with anything (and we can find you) we are more than happy to help out! We are only realitively new ( been showing 2 and abit years now) but will help answer any questions we can! -
