When Did You Get A New Furry Family Member?
Nevafollo replied to Pretty Miss Emma's topic in General Dog Discussion
Its such a varried thing... like my mum got a new addition about 6 months prior to our old family dog passing away at 16 and a half, she knew it was coming and knew her other little dog would fret so got the new dog before that happened. I lost a pug unexpectedly (he was only 2) and went out and got a new pug baby within a week i just couldnt live life without have a pug there, I couldnt sleep because I missed his snoring so badly she definately helped me heal!!! -
Thank you kirst goldens. I have tried again to up a photo of her but to no avail. It worked. It worked AWESOME!!! Shes very nice!

I know they have already been suggested but most definately a Pointer. They would be perfect, but then as you said you may as well get a viz. I havent had much to do with Viz so cant really compare the two they only ones I have met have been more active than my lot but thats not to say they are as a breed, just the two we have had in the kennels were more over the top then my pointers.

I use one of the plastic measuring cups I got with a bag of ProPlan years ago. Never really measured it, think I will today. Badger is hard to keep weight on but 3 cups does seem like a lot. Might cut back a little and watch how he takes the drop in food. 3 cups is definately not too much for a pointer. Mine eat quite abit. I tried Black Hawk and was un-happy with it. Gave my dogs bad skin so they went back on to 100% raw but I am looking at trying two other drys now as I do like to feed a cup or two with their raw each day. All my pointers get breakfast and dinner if they didnt they would lose weight very fast.

What Makes A Show/s Popular With You?
Nevafollo replied to poodlefan's topic in General Dog Discussion
My most favorite show is Armidale because its held within a caravan park in summer, after school holidays and I would imagine under normal circumstance the park would be empty but its always FULL when they hold the show so a good money spinner for them. We had a ball this year the fact that we had access to a pool made it even better ( I went swimming in the lunch break before my breed was on)! For me thou it ticks all the boxes, good area, great grounds, excellent accomodation, well run, so far decent judges, the list of why its awesome is endless! I will go pretty much anywhere IF the judges are ones Im interested in, I would prefer not to get the car bogged thou so thats important! As someone already pointed out having a ring BIG enough for Gundogs to actually MOVE is always nice! Another place we like to show is Gunnedah purely because of its camping and rings fantastic facilities!!! -
Champion Class- Should We Have A Seperate Class?
Nevafollo replied to Stolzseinrotts's topic in General Dog Discussion
Cause sadly some judges are like that and gossip is important to them. These are the judges I try and avoid. Ive been showing for 3 years now and I am slowly learning what judges like my dogs over others and which ones dont. Judges opinions can vary greatly, if we all liked the same shit showing would be a boring world. I am in a breed where numbers are growing rapidly, there are a number of young grand champions. These dogs are nice, they are presented well, but they arnt unbeatable. I am against any sort of championship class because as some one pointed out a judge shouldnt know who is a champ or grand champ and having a class just for them make its pretty obvious whos who. Honestly thou if a dog is going in and loosing time and time again, cant win a class let alone a a challange or class in group then maybe that dog shouldnt be in the ring? I get that this is an issue for some as they arnt going to rehome their pet but fact is it might be so and if you dont want to rehome then that choice is on you. You either desex and get another puppy and try again or if you dont have the room then maybe showing isnt for you. Showing and breeding is something Ive decided I want to commit my time to so have decided that I have to be very critical of where am at and where Im heading and if a dog doesnt fit into that then he or she will be placed it a very special pet home, this might make me look like a monster to some but its how I want to do things. In saying all that though there are dogs who will win my heart and no matter how big of a winner they are they wont be going anywhere! As far as rare breeds go and judges its a hard thing. Numbers can play such a huge part in a judges choice. If theres 25 goldens and only one clumber spaniel the golden choosen would want to be a bloody nice dog and the clumber would have to be one stunning peice of dog to beat it as the goldens already beaten 24 other dogs and yet the clumber has beaten nothing for a judge that isnt quite sure they are going to go with the numbers, and thats another aspect of why low number breeds can be difficult! -

Which Breed Makes The Cutest Puppies?
Nevafollo replied to Henrietta's topic in General Dog Discussion
What breed is this handsome devil?? Quite obviously, Labradors are by far the cutest puppies. I was starting to think a couple of you had a fair case going for some other breeds (particularly the baby borzoi!), but then RubyStar posted photos and I remembered why you just can't compete with a Lab puppy :D I'm also a huuuuge sucker for GSD puppies. Anything with particularly enormous paws is also a winner. Thats Harlow, she is indeed a Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen! She's very very cute! She belongs to my mum (she is co-owned with a friend of hers) and I have had the honour of showing her for mum a couple of times now, shes got a totally spunky additude... I just LOVE her! -

The BOB fauve is from a very well known show kennel in the UK, stunning on the video , http://crufts.fossedata.co.uk/Breed.asp?Sh...;ScheduleID=118 Soletrader is very well known for the PBGV & infact they also own/bred the reserve in show Soletarder have wonderful PBGVs... recently Aust Ch and Nz Ch Soletrader jack in the box had a holiday here in australia he was originally imported from the UK to NZ. He is related to the bitch who won RUBIS through a father or grandfather...cant quite remember. My mum is extreamly luck to co-own a lovely bitch who is daughter to Soletarder jack in the box! :D That flat coat thou...WOW. I only saw footage of him in group and boy was he a happy chap! ;)

Hey are they fairly boisterous as pups (like labs) or are they calmer? i know you said they are lazy with when they are older and all pups are boisterous just some over the top if that makes sense ??? haha i hope he isnt too lazy cause my brother likes to play with his dog and walk them so it might get more than one walk a day thats just the least amount it would get No not boisterous. More curious and cheeky. Im not sure about other people but mine have always had a werid calmness when it comes to kids, they seem to know they shouldnt jump or be naughty around them. and I guess what Im trying to say about the exercise is that they would do as much or as little as a person wanted. Does that make sense? (but it does go without saying that they do need to be exercised its just a matter of how much really) Im not sure where you are located but if you get him to go to some shows he can see for himself wether they interest him or not.
