  1. Theres every chance the dog will choose you over your OH, it will take careful planning and introduction but if you do some research on how to go about it properly Im sure it would be fine. Zorro sounds well adjusted and well loved I doubt you will have any issues. Gundogs in general dog like the company of other dogs as well as thier people. Breed is up to you and your OH, I personally find Jacks and foxies nice dogs but a few we have had through the kennels at work have turned me right off, actually working in kennels has turned me off most terriers (dont get me wrong there are a few shining stars that come into the kennels but alot of the terriers are way too much for me). BUT Im a gundog kinda person it really just depends on exactly what you want temperment wise.
  2. Id vote for a pug their ONLY downside is shedding, but if you can live with abit of hair they are pretty awesome and definately not yappers. We were discussing yesterday how pathetic my mums pugs bark is its like a tiny grunt! Alot of people say they cant handle the heat ect but if they are trim and fit they can do anything :D
  3. So do you just mean black pigment? and not brown? eg this? and not something like this? FYI these are just google images no idea wether they are 100% poodle or what the go is.
  4. I know - lucky huh? The question is thou, does Campbell get to call one Bazinga
  5. I think they would be as naughty as one another only different kinds of naughty... Aussies are smart naughty! Labs and any gundog really are just total silly goober naughty! ETA. My friend added another aussie baby when I added another pointee baby and they were (and lets face it still are) a naughty duo but was funny watching them she had it all over him cause she is just way smarter!!!
  6. OMG Congrats Tris How exciting... I want one
  7. Actually the body has been clipped fine. In the previous photo, there were tufts of hair all over the place, under the arm pits etc, the ears were not trimmed neatly. Agreed, looks more even then before. Personally I dont think it looks THAT much shorter than it was in the previous pic (maybe 2cms?), regardless of the leg factor if a client whats a summer clip thats how short it is Actually the OP said she asked them not to touch the top knot and even thou she asked them not to it was "scissored into a ball", I cant see where or how its been scissored, but purhaps thats just the angle of the picture and to me scissored into a ball would be alot shorter and wayyy more ball like so that has me confused? The fact is with out knowing exactly how matted that leg was its not fair to judge the groomer. The OP says it wasnt that bad, but the OP could be lying? Or the Op might not have reaslised HOW bad it was, I find clients are some times oblivious to how bad the knots are and dont understand how hard it is to do anything with a dog once they have knots. Or the OP could very well be being 100% honest and the groomer was a dodgey one. Id also like to second who ever said something along the lines of, you wouldnt get it until you have been a groomer. Its a very true statement, grooming is a very hard but very rewarding job and I think the groomers on DOL get so defensive when threads like this come up because we all take our work very seriously and for others to come on here saying all groomers are terrible ect its offensive! Im very proud of my work, yes I make judgement calls, sometimes I try to contact the owner other times I dont, have I lost customers because of this? Possibly, am I booked out well in advance? Definately. It DOESNT make me a bad groomer. Working in kennels and grooming I can tell you dog owners can be a great big pain in the arse, but I dont do this job for the owners!!!
  8. Now THAT is a grooming Disaster!

I have my first litter one the ground, out of Kite and I am very excited that she will hopefully pass her temperment on to her bubs and other people will be as luck as I am to have abit of Kitey in their lives

  23. Yeah there are heaps of spots. Sorry only just saw this but I don't have a tarp or anything. We are set up down the other end (behind toys/hounds) as between the group of us we cover all rings, you are welcome to set up behind us if you want. Working is the first ring as you drive in the gate. Bring gumboots!!! Its very wet underfoot. Dont mind me had a brain fart! Realised you might cover all rings even if you guys dont cover all groups... we need a friend with a Utility dog and a terrier One day we will have total ring domination Me and Kristy had joked about getting and co-owning a terrier... but we couldnt decide on one!!
