My mum needs to get a food bowl for her greyhound that is elevated off the ground. She can't put a normal bowl up on a stand as the dog just knocks (and licks) it off. I'm doing some searching on pet websites for her, but thought I'd ask here if anyone has used one, and got any recommendations? Thanks

Tess & Fleming do this (play bitey-face that is) of a morning when we wake up. It's all part of the morning routine :) They're both about 10 now, and carry on like lunatics. Tess then gets so excited she starts biting her own paws

Fleming & I have a bit of an evening ritual - he lies on the sofa next to me and rolls on his back and waves his legs in the air, and I blow on his face... it's a bonding experience I promise :) He gurgles, I blow, he gurgles more.... It ends up with us both rolling on the sofa and Flemo rubbing his head on mine and getting lots of pats and cuddles, Well tonight he decided it took too long for me to cuddle him so he thought he'd head-butt me first. I now have a swollen lip and it's bleeding !! I know there have been loads of threads over the years about injuries received from our beloved pets, but I want to know - what injuries have you endured because your dog is showing they love you ?

It's Official, My Whippets Are The Best In The World!
MadWoofter replied to Kirislin's topic in General Dog Discussion
Well done whippets !! I love that third pic - Puck looks totally relaxed. I adopted two chooks a couple of months ago, and was a little concerned about Fleming as he just luuurves to chase things. It only took a couple of days before he was totally comfortable around them, and I can leave them out together for hours without a problem. They're so comfortable with each in fact that the other day one of the girls got so excited at the thought of food that she flapped around and ended up on Fleming's back !! It was only for a few seconds (I think she got a bigger fright when he moved than he did her landing on him), so Haredown's comment is not completely out of the question :) Great pics as usual :) -
RIP Hesa Panda Bear and hugs to you Hesa

How Many Hours Do You Spend On Dol :p
MadWoofter replied to Squidgy's topic in General Dog Discussion
Depends if it's at work or at home - I actually spend more time browsing at work  I've got DOL open all day and regularly flick through. Yeah, I wouldn't like to see my 'active hours' count. -
"the Tail End" - S B S Insight Tonight
MadWoofter replied to Leema's topic in General Dog Discussion
I missed the first 15 mins - is there representation from 'private' rescue rather than LDH or RSPCA? ETA spelling -
So sad to hear this news MTD. RIP sweet Molly

Oh wow, that is just fabulous news. So glad your girl is back home with you.

LOL - Tess & Fleming are sooooo jealous if one or the other is getting a pat. The one missing out will come racing over and shove their head in the way so they don't miss out  . I couldn't ever have a third dog as I don't have enough hands to spread the pats :)

Sounds like a happy ending for everyone. Daisy is beautiful

Sorry to hijack the thread, but I did that K9 country breed one (just out of curiousity) and was very pleased to see that my favourite breeds are all a perfect match for me :)

I did Adelaide to Sydney with two dogs & a cat. If you're taking the cat with you (rather than flying it separately) then I'd do the trip all in one go. I had two overnight stops and Reah was pretty darn stressed by the end of it with all the changes. Other than that, a lot really depends on your pets and how they cope. My two dogs were fine on the trip and were much better off in the car with me than being flown separately. They actually needed far fewer stops than I thought, and spent most of it asleep on the back seat of the car. I had the footwells in the bag full with bags & things, and I had a heap of blankets and doonas on the backseat so they were nice & comfortable. We stopped every 4 hours for a big drink, a walk and a widdle, and at each place I stayed at overnight I made sure they went for a big walk when we arrived and again before we left in the morning. Do you have time to get your cat used to a harness so you can take her out when you stop for a toilet?

Sending hugs to you lovely lady - what a sad day for you.

Probably too late for the OP now, and possibly too far away, but I heard great things, and had wonderful experiences with Kylie (I think that's her name, going of memory here) at Payneham Vet Clinic in the short time I was in Adelaide.

Any News On Ned Please?
MadWoofter replied to grumpette's topic in Dog Rescue (General Rescue Discussion)
Great news, and a huge to Emma (and everyone else) involved in getting him to a place where he is starting to settle. Now for the perfect home to turn up.... -
Tess & Fleming usually snooze on the sofa while I'm watching TV, but occasionally Tess will go & put herself to bed. If she decides that I'm staying up too late she'll toddle up the hallway and bark at me to hurry up :) Flemo just waits until I'm ready.
