  1. I bought a flash when I was in college that can either go on top of the camera or off to the side. I'm pretty sure I left batteries in it for a long time and they corroded, but if I could get it fixed up would it be worth my while? What's so good about the Speedlites? How does one flash differ from another?
  2. What kind of flash? How would you use two Studio lights?
  3. I've a 50mm 1.8 on the way, my other 50mm is a bit slow to focus and frustrates the shit out of me Inside portraits of the dogs. Not fully static as they'll be breathing :p
  4. Since the only time I'm free to take pics at the moment is in the evenings, how do I go about taking pics of the dogs in such low light? Do I bump up the ISO as far as it will go? Do I get lights? A flash? Any suggestions?
  5. I can't love, we've a full car with OH and the crate. Jess [quickasyoucan] might want to meet at yours and share the drive?
  6. Hmm, looks like I may not be working. Maybe I'll come sans crazy dogs and take some pics. If the weather's good.
  7. No, we're both working all weekend so we'll stay in and watch it at home. ANZ is a bit of a hike for us!
  8. Bump for Sunday. I have to work so I won't be there. Have fun without me ETA from the email list ...
  9. I walk Ivan, Trixie and Chopper together in the mornings. I find the key is to keep the leads short and they have no option but to stay where they're supposed to. No marking or stopping to sniff things. I am a bit of a drill sergeant, but it's my walk so they have to behave. Chopper will insist on being ahead of the other two so I give him a fraction more lead to appease him and prevent pulling! If I try and bring Angel as well it's a nightmare cause she likes to lag behind [and the footpaths aren't wide enough for 4 dogs!] so she gets to come on the second walk with just Chopper.
  10. I'm surprised no one else did Something to do with conflict. Chopper sees me as the person who's always telling him not to do things, no jumping, no craziness, etc. The type of toy I use may not overcome that, but at least if I start with something I know he goes crazy for everyday I'll have a good starting point. I take Chopper and Angel to the park for fetch in the morning [well, I used to before I became the nasty depriver of toys ], I don't bring them both to the park to train. I did once with OH, but it was rubbish so we won't try that again for a while
  11. Were you at the recent one in Kurrajong? Was I sitting beside you?!
  12. I don't have the patience to wait for Clean Run, I might see if I can get one locally!
  13. Hmmmm ... maybe? http://www.cleanrun.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...;string=squeaky
  14. I know I'm not supposed to throw it away. The plan was to get him really into the toy by playing fetch with it in the mornings, then in the evening I could use it for one on one training. I guess I could try depriving him. I'm gonna have to cycle with him instead though, if he doesn't get a run he gets destructive!
  15. Oh no, really? I suppose if there's a hole for a rope to go through there can't be a squeak
  16. Chopper and Angel go to the park to chase the ball nearly every day. They know the ball and they go crazy when the see it. It's rubber and it squeaks. I've tried normal tennis balls in the past as they fit better in the chukka, but they only want their squeaky ball. If I don't have it, they're not interested and they run around the park like hoons misbehaving Since we started drive training I'm having difficulties finding the right toy to use. He won't tug with me. He will with our trainer, but not with me. Since he's so mad about his ball I suggested using that, but it needs to be a ball on a rope. I got a ball on a rope and banished his squeaky ball forever. From now on we take the ball on a rope to the park for fetch so when it comes to training it's a toy with high value for him. I started yesterday morning. No chukka, just the ball on a rope. I threw it a few times and they'd run after it, but the enthusiasm wasn't there. I was giving them heaps of encouragement and praise and treats when they brought it back, but as soon as another dog came along they were more interested in them. This morning I brought the chukka and threw the ball. It landed right beside Chopper and he saw it but then they both went running off to see where the squeaky ball was They ran around for a good minute. I threw the ball another few times and got the same reaction as yesterday, except today was worse as the two of them took off to chase birds I'm thinking I need to find a squeaky ball on a rope to grab their attention. Does anyone know where I'd get one? I tried Googling, but no luck :p As a last resort I might use a cuz toy and tie rope around the feet
