  1. It's not playtime Danois, it's all very serious training don't you know
  2. Is that really necessary? āœ½deelee sorry to hear about this morning but we're still going for a walk on Sat, you won't get out of it that easily
  3. Good find Monelite So, are we going to make it 7pm on Wednesdays, yeah?
  4. I nearly started the same topic recently! I posted this here ...
  5. Maybe, I couldn't get there before 6.30 though. OH has had a relapse, so I'll check how he's feeling and see if doing the grocery shopping is that important
  6. Ok, socialising was possibly the wrong word. I'm talking about doing some exercises onlead in the same vicinity. Much like ob club.
  7. I get that, but I think it's important for there to be a certain amount of onlead socialisation at our "club", that's another reason I don't want it all to be one dog on the field type of work.
  8. I meant I never envisage a class of people doing the same excercises - like a standard clubs do. I see people getting their dog out and if need be all other dogs are locked up or selected dogs out and people helping each other, spoting, exchanging ideas. If some want to do group stays they do a group stay. But hey Ruthless is the president, she might have other ideas! ;) we are totally on the same page I hope Ruthless is too I want to be doing stuff the whole time I'm there, not like Sch. where we only do short stints on the field. I don't want to learn stuff and take it away to perfect in my own time, cause we both know I won't Maybe I'm not on the same page
  9. ;) I think you need someone to proofread your posts Monika Hi Jo You'll see me at flyball eventually. Just need to get the obedience rock solid first
  10. Ok, what do we need to do to get this up and running? It'd be good to have an instructor. Maybe we could poach Wendy ;) What's the place in Tempe? Do we need permission to use it? OH would make agility equipment, but no point unless we have grounds with somewhere to store it.
  11. I don't do logos I think Chopper could trial eventually if I put some commitment into training him. I'd like to do obedience at the moment. I'm free those nights too. There's two parks near my house, I don't see any reason why we'd need permission to use them if it was onlead work. You might get the occasional off lead dog, but they're generally empty. What d'you reckon?
  12. I'd like to do some training during the week, in the evening. Doesn't have to be anything too formal. Obedience only at the moment, maybe agility or flyball in the future. Does anyone know of any clubs? I live near the airport and I'm willing to travel 20-30 minutes max. Failing this, is anyone else in the area interested in finding a spot where we can meet up to do some onlead training?
  13. Are there bits of bone in the vomit? Does he seem ok? If mine have bones I'm almost guaranteed to be cleaning up vomit within the next 24hrs! Angel also jumps in her paddling pool and drinks heaps of water after chasing the ball, then eats some grass and throws up. Almost daily. She's been doing it as long as we've had her. The vet said not to worry about it.
  14. They eat grass to make them vomit/pooh cause there's something upsetting their stomach. Did he have a bone recently? How often has he vomited?
  15. I imagine hills would slow me down more too
  16. My only complaint is that I get no exercise cause Chopper runs faster than I can cycle
  17. Wow, those pics are amazing, great thread I've been using PS for years as part of my job, but I only know the basics. Clipping paths, levels, blur, sharpen, etc. There's so much I still need to learn I took these pics almost 2 years ago when I was still using my camera on auto [and unknowingly set to underexpose by 2 stops ]. From memory all I did was crop, mess with the levels or curves and the hue/saturation and do some burning around the edges and dodging around the eyes. The photos are still pretty mediocre, but they look better than the befores I think
  18. No reason. I just thought meeting other dogs would be good for her.
  19. Yes it's Trixie, but it was a semi-hypothetical question cause no she's never met the other dog and the idea just came to out of the blue. I now know it was retarded I guess I feel bad that she never ever gets to have fun outside of our house and garden and I feel like she's somehow deprived I also think she's got no toning and would benefit from some running around, but that's not a major factor.
  20. I want to do more than manage the problem though, I want to cure her. I accept that a playdate with another fear aggressive dog was a stoopid idea But it's my understanding that in order for her to move forward, she needs to start meeting other dogs. I know she may never be a social butterfly, or a dog that can chase a ball in the park, and that's ok, but I'd like her to not be afraid anymore.
