Yeah, big time screamer if I take out one of the other dogs and not him. He's ok to be left at other times.
-
Thanks Amanda
-
Yeah, I was wondering where you were. It was a bit muddy, but not too bad.
-
No, it wasn't that dog, it was the dog you might have seen at the the vetting table lunging and screaming at the other dogs I HATE that part of training, he carries on like a prize arsehole cause all the other dogs are excited and playing. I should try and get there earlier so I can get vetted and then wait at the car until class starts. It was a good class today. He worked really well Unfortunately not long after we came home he decided to challenge Ivan so he's in the bad books again

Oh goody, you can send me that nice leather one I think speech bubbles was the term you were looking for mrmac!

Very nice Wish my couch was more photogenic

Aw look at him Is that to prevent airborne things getting to his skin? Does he wear them all day and night?
-
Post em in the other thread, I'd love to see them

Fidos make an oatmeal shampoo and conditioner, it's cheaper than Aloveen
-
Either that or a graduated filter on your camera.

Wearing clothes? Surely there's pics to go along with a statement like that! I've got hayfever and three allergic dogs, can I be the president? I looked at the pic you're talking about and it does look like it. That pic's about 6 months old. I just checked her tail and it seems to have a full hair coverage

Jeeeeez, I really feel for you two, that's full on Trixie's currently fine [as you may see next week Stormie ]. So I'm now quite sure that her allergies are seasonal. In between her toes got a bit smelly and gooey recently, but it's been very wet, so maybe that was why? A medicated bath sorted her out. I hope you get to the bottom of your problem soon ZA

Not sure Pooey. If I do it'd prob only be to take pics. My dogs get too excited, it's no fun for me! :p -
Love the new pics Luke Especially the one on the plank. The tongue's a crack up :D

But I thought your dogs were perfect? :D OH said no to putting the crates in different rooms, but he did agree to get up earlier than usual so he could verbally correct Chopper if he whinged. I took Ivan and Trixie out first. We had a lovely walk very minimal pulling. Much less than walking the two boys together, so that was yay! When I got back Chopper was all kitted out in his weighted backpack. OH said he only whinged a little bit when I left. I took him and Angel out and once he figured out that I didn't like him walking so close to me with the backpack on we had a lovely walk. He only needed about ten corrections to stop him pulling [as opposed to the usual 700 or so!] and about twenty minutes into it he was actually beside me on a loose lead! It was really quite pleasant I know all we've done is found a work around and we still have a lot to do to fix him, but it was the first morning in a very very long time where I've actually enjoyed walking the dogs. So I'll just savour this little victory before cracking out the book of dog tricks to decide what to teach him today

Sydney Lure Coursing Fun Days 2009!

New date announced, Sunday 5 July. Details in first post. -
Thanks luv, I'm on a mac though, would it be compatible?
-
I wouldn't trust him uncrated in the house. He's too destructive. Any time he's been given any freedom he's destroyed something! I'm going to try this for starters and take it from there. OH will be home so he can keep an eye on him. I don't have a webcam.
-
Ivan wasn't crated, like I said above, he left and went into another room. Can't say I blame him! Chopper was bleeding from his gums. It looks worse than it was cause the excessive drool made it go everywhere. His two canines are already broken so luckily he didn't make them any worse. Guess where he is now? Sleeping happily in his crate
-
Today he was not in a room all alone, he was with another dog... Oh no, Ivan got the hell away from that fruitcake! He has access to the whole house when I'm out. He wasn't in there when I got home. In fact I didn't know where Chopper was either cause I couldn't see the crate. He'd shuffled it across the room and under the rack of drying clothes! Laffi, you're not a million miles away, see you at 6.30am tomorrow?
-
Thanks, I'll have a read of that. Thanks Kavik, TSD and Laffi too. Pity party's over! I forgot about that. He would have a little whinge though. He could see me out the window the whole time too. Maybe I could hire someone to drive him along beside me while I'm walking the others
-
I mean I've allowed him to get his way too many times. Like I said in the OP, I've tried walking only two instead of all four, but I always go back to four cause I can't stand hearing how distressed he gets when I leave him. I didn’t mean to spoil him, it just happened. I’d never had dogs before and then we had three within the space of 6 months! I didn’t know anything. If he was distressed I couldn’t bare it. If I walked out and he started screaming I’d go back and bring him with me. If I wanted to take just one dog somewhere I’d take him cause it was the easy option. I had to bring him to dog training to calm him down and he was really good at it, so that was even more time alone with me. He's like this because I let it happen
-
I think he throws tantrums cause he's been rewarded for them in the past Yes it was me that called it a tantrum! So, I need a plan of attack! There's a spare crate in the garage, I can set that up in the office. Should I move Angel's to the spare room? Ivan never sleeps on his bed anyway, so prob ok to leave Trixie's where it is. [Not that she's ever thrown a tantrum anyway ] Tomorrow morning I can leave Chopper in his crate while OH is still in bed and take Ivan and Trixie out first. That way if he spazzs out OH can intervene. I'll then take him and Angel out and walk him with a backpack. At lunchtime I can do some one-on-one training with the three young ones. Ivan's ok, as long as he gets some cabanossi too he'll be happy! I might put them in their crates at about 5 for a couple of hours nap. They tend to get the crazies when OH gets home, so it'd be good to have them all in their separate sleeping quarters. I'll try and track down a copy of crate games too. Obviously this is just for days when I'm working from home. On other days they'll be in their runs. Is there anything else I should be doing?
