  1. I've met him a few times and I've always thought he was a lovely, well balanced dog. Wanna swap? [No, not for Bruno or Angel :p]
  2. I know It was a tight squeeze with just three, but now I definitely think it's time for a bigger dog bed!
  3. Not just you, I thought the exact same thing. Similar, but Bruno is leggier I think. He looks a little like Becandcharch's Asha too. Same mask. I haven't done a glamour shot of all four together yet, but here they are doing what they do best... hogging the heater
  4. Chopper would sound like Cartman from South Park when he's talking to his Mom
  5. I don't get it either. Him and Juno have really great temps, they're social, med-low energy. I can't understand how no one was missing them
  6. Done. You could've emailed me though ;)
  7. Bruno's fitting in really well so it's with no shame at all that I've decided to make him foster failure #3! Angel and Chopper are happily playing biteyface with him at every opportunity and even Trixie [AKA "the bitch"] has accepted him into the pack. The lord mayor of naughty town is here to stay :D
  8. Thanks for the deer antler recommendation. I bought four and they're absolutely loving them!
  9. It could be nothing or it could be something. The only way you'll know is to have it tested. Hopefully it's just a fatty deposit.
  10. The bull breed that was tasered was protecting it's owner from being assaulted
  11. Our dogs vomit after nearly every different bone they're given. If they don't vomit they get constipation or the runs. I've tried lamb shanks, kangaroo tails, turkey necks, marrow bones and others that I don't know the name of. I now only give them chicken frames or necks, but Angel's teeth are getting a bad build up on them. I know there are other people here that don't feed bones for the same reason. What do you use to keep their teeth clean?
  12. I agree that they should be kept separate when unsupervised, but if Mike can assert himself as their leader it's possible they can coexist in peace when he's home. IMO.
  13. Sarah from Mischiefmaka said I could call him that as the base colour seems to be blue fawn, but she'd probably just call him smut tan point.
  14. .. and perhaps for a lot of people, it would be. Some people though, need time to accept the idea of ending a dog's life - time to get used to the idea that a dog they love may have problems incompatible with a happy and stress free life ... problems with either health or temperament, depending on their situation Some folks need the support/confirmation of a professional - be it vet or behaviourist, before they can make their decision. I think this is a good thing - and should be encouraged. I agree. Best of luck Mike
  15. She'll happily lie beside him on the dog bed or the sofa, but if he starts pestering her she'll tell him off. I know she won't hurt him so I'm only intervening to calm him down, not to correct her. I doubt it'll be long before they're playing biteyface together
  16. Lovely pics Can I steal this one for the Ruthless Leather gallery page please?
  17. Since he responds well to "oi" and "hey" and the name Bruno really suits him we've decided to stick with it. Any guesses on his breed mix or what his colour might be called? There's a vid of his first meeting with Angel a few days ago posted on my FB page > https://www.facebook.com/ruthlessphotos Juno's potential adopter had to pull out unexpectedly so she's still looking for her forever home if anyone's interested > http://www.petrescue.com.au/view/111474
  18. Like I said in the OP I'm taking the introductions very slowly and crating and rotating. Trixie has some fear issues so I want her to get well and truly used to him being here before they meet offlead. They've been walked together and she happily lies beside his crate in front of the heater. I'm sure they'll be fine but there's nothing to be gained from rushing things.
  19. God you all have so much faith in my ability to rehome fosters! I have another question... what colour is he? Blue fawn smut tan point? [i just made that up ]
  20. As I was putting listings on the Bull Breeds in Need FB page a few weeks ago I saw this cutie on death row. I've learned not to fall in love with photos of poundies so I went to Renbury Farm to meet him. He was so gorgeous and well behaved, I knew straight away [with my track record at fostering] that he had foster failure written all over him He went to quarantine kennels and then into temp care with Melzawelza for a couple of weeks while we were overseas. He arrived on Thursday night and he's been so good. We're taking the introductions really slowly so there's been a lot of crating and rotating, but he's not bothered by it. Technically he's still a foster as I promised OH that I'd put him up for adoption if he didn't fit in. But so far so good. Fingers crossed it works out cause he's kinda perfect It's been raining heaps since we got home, but here's a pic from the day he went to the kennels and some iPhone pics of him since he arrived. He lurrrrrrves the heater I'm thinking he might need a name change cause I seem to say "no" a lot and it sounds too much like Bruno. Any suggestions? I thought he was 8-10 months, but he's incredibly floppy and clumsy, so maybe he's younger. What breeds do you think he is? I thought maybe SBT x AST? He was picked up with Juno who is possibly a littermate [with a different sire?]. She went into foster care and is on the verge of being adopted too
  21. Holy shit, that's a good age!! Happy Birthday Ollie I hope I get at least that many years out of Angel too.
  22. It's so sad to see so many negative comments about Staffys. I think you all need to meet Angel, she's great with other dogs. I don't go to big off lead parks anymore, but when we did she never got in any trouble. She'd let other dogs steal her ball, no drama. If another dog annoys her she'll tell them off but never fight. I've met plenty of others like her, she's not the exception to the rule.
