  1. As you were supposed to be picking up the puppy today, I think the breeder owes you a detailed explanation of what is actually going on....I would be wanting to know tomorrow the dogs health status, vets diagnosis and how long does the vet think you will be waiting. Feel for the breeder if puppies are sick at this time (pick up time) would be very dissapointing all round...hope its nothing serious. With regard to not answering the phone.......if all puppies are sick I could understand, it would be a difficult time, and they would have lots of puppy buyers ringing them, that said they do need to let you know exactly what is going on.
  2. Lovely looking pups!!!!! they really are gorgeous
  3. Flash was a stunning girl, so sorry for your loss xxx
  4. Bad Alice is looking "WICKED" in the nicest way!
  5. I am so so sorry peacefrog run free beautiful Esmay
  6. I'm doing ok Dyz, have my moments everyday, it hurts like hell, but you know what thats like... Reading the way they are treating Esmay makes me wonder why they didn't give Jordy more transfusions, all mute questions now but they are getting in and giving her lots more, would that be because she is smaller? or maybe they are more experienced with the disease and know the best shot is to keep transfusing...........hope it works, things are looking up a little for Esmay, hugs to her xxxx
  7. He looks really really nice!!! I can see why you would want to keep him!
  8. Excellent post dyzney, it should be stuck so everyone can read it, very helpful for owners of newly diagnosed dogs..... hope little Esmay is doing well
  9. Hoping she perks up after the blood transfusion, give her a hug from me when you see her next xx
  10. Hi peacefrog...sounds very positive for your girl Esmay, hoping things continue to improve, this is a bastard of a disease, but can be conquered, sending lots of hugs Esmays way xxx I had my heart ripped out in November when I lost my young boy to this insidious disease, here is his story if you feel up to reading it Jordans fight with IMT everyone here is fantastic and gave me so much support, really don't know what I would have done without them. Lots of healing vibes to your dear little Esmay and lots of cuddles and strength to you
  11. My thoughts are with you groupfive on the loss of your boy having gone through it myself I feel your pain RIP Fellow
  12. Roo they catch themselves, chicken wings, human grade mince and lots of lamb flaps that come from meat wholesalers, the flaps are sometimes quite fatty but it shows in their coats. They need the bones Sam the Man, he's a dog thats what he does chew bones..
  13. Best wishes for your boy...fingers crossed it will be ok xxx
  14. Congratulations Jeanne and Mango
  15. we start on smashed necks at 4 weeks then between 4/5 we also introduce smashed wings
  16. Me too :D :D I am over the moon that my boy is in the top ten in my breed I agree, its fun, even if we can't compete with the bigger shows on the mainland, some people take it waaayy too seriously, and really if you have an outstanding dog it will do well
  17. Come live in WA ,it will be 3 months before we have a show with double points I think Vic has had well over 6 so far for Jan come live in Tassie we don't have any with near that number Most people who are into their breed know who the best dog of the breed is in the country, we don't need the point score comp to tell us that. Its still good fun to enter and get points, if you don't like the rules you shouldn't enter
  18. Technically, most of us do that every time we set foot in the ring and have a good win. Those ringside experts can be more brutal than ANY breed specialist!!! ain't that the truth, should get them to write out a critique :D
  19. We rarely have a breed specialist judge our shows Out of the 6 I have entered, only 2 had actually owned/bred the breed. And with regard to my 3rd out of 3 critique, as I said earlier, it was clear the judge (not a specialist) was not keen on my dog from the moment we walked into the ring and the critique had not one nice thing to say about him, I am aware we pay for the opinion, and I am definitely open to the bad points of my dogs, but the critique was just depressing and full of negativity and truly I felt as though I had wasted her time and would have preferred she had refused the 3rd place. The fact that he is listed as having won 3rd place (1-3 are listed in my breed because of the low numbers), when he clearly in her opinion was not a good example, is wrong IMO. I don't mind coming last, but if the dog is that awful- refuse the award. I agree its a bit hard to take unnecessary criticism from someone who is not an expert in the breed
  20. Isn't the whole idea of entering a Specialty show to be judged by a breed specialist, and offer your dog to him/her for critique, observations and awards? Why enter if you are not at all interested in the judges opinion, apart from if you were to win! If the case was sour grapes then the exhibitor should steer clear of Specialty shows in future, no one is a certain winner

  23. This question is for those of you that have imported (or exported) dogs to/from other countries I would like to know if you insured, and if you did what company did you use? Was the price you paid worth it? or would you not bother next time. What did it actually cover? Thanks
