Would You Use A Stud Dog Owned By A Byb/puppy Farmer.
Bokezu replied to Bilbo Baggins's topic in Breeders Community
lots of registered breeders out there like this -
I have imported from USA and had to use an agent, I " believe" there may be new laws in now that state you HAVE to use an agent, cant comment on anywhere else apart from the UK and USA. That is too bad if that is the case for US, pretty sure you don't have to have an agent for UK and I know you don't for Europe. All the agent does is organise the tests, they are very straight forward, Export and Import permits, which anyone can do , and organise the air travel, not worth the money they charge, but I do understand people need to use them.

If someone had a dog I really wanted to use, was registered and health tested appropriate for the breed, and I new some of the lines and could research the rest, then yes I would use that dog. -

I have just imported fom Hungary cat 4 and didn't use an agent at all, saved 2k on the quotes I had. But my breeder has done it all before many times and knew what tests, gov vets etc... would be harder for someone who wasn't familiar. Being close to the Gov vets would make it pretty straight forward, as everything you need to do is in the import permit, and I'm sure would be in the export permit as well.

I've just done a new website using the DOL template, I'm very happy with it. I loved my old website but it was so hard to update as I had to pay for each update and I find it so much easier to update and change pics myself for no cost but the outlay of around $80 per annum

How Often Would You Communicate With People On Your Waiting List?
Bokezu replied to kim777's topic in Breeders Community
Glad to hear everything is legit and above board! She is still in the wrong in my opinion and should not be holding a deposit, sounds like she is also having quite a few litters. -
I read it through again a few times and yes they probably are quite genuine, I am so over scam e-mails that I am a bit too hasty to judge lately
-
"they sound like an amazing breed" but they go on to say they owned a Vizsla...If I recieved this e-mail I would have deleted it. Maybe you could ask them who they bought their last Vizsla off, prefix and State??

No way should they ask for a deposit before pups are even born! you should ask for return of your deposit as breeders are being unethical keeping you waiting and putting you off, and very little contact to tell you where you stand regarding said puppy. Are they registered breeders on DOL? don't think there are many breeders on Dol that would take deposits for unborn pups and then have three litters without placing one with you, sounds a bit dodgy to me -
I don't like the sound of it jerojath, I would answer them but only with very basic answers, but then again I am very suspicious of e-mails with dodgy spelling

Absolutely! I choke up every time there is a parade of veterans at our specialty. I have seen dogs paraded who I have never 'liked' before, but still clap and cheer for them as just seeing how chuffed they are doing a lap of the ring to great applause is wonderful. They really do feel extra special to not only have been brought to a show (most oldies are left behind where it's warm) but to be groomed and sprayed and have a show lead around their necks...... just like the good old days when they were the 'rising stars' of their kennel. I love clapping and getting a tear in the eye for the veterans..they are all winners

I also have an arrival from Budapest, he leaves Spotswood Quarantine on 31 July, he is a lovely boy just turned 12 months old.....meet Sugar Csanad
-
yep........ they are always trying new ways to fool people, I get at least one every day!! anyone that replies would have been asked for their bank details so the money could be deposited.. these people really make me sick
-
I don't mind what people wear as long as they look "classy" or elegant...lets face it some women look classy in a potato sack...I'm not one of them I like nice jackets with tailored pants ..the bright suits can look really nice on some guys...and then there are others that really really should have a good look in the mirror before they venture into the show ring wearing a rainbow coloured suit

1 or 2 on the bed, they all have a turn, other three downstairs on the dog futon or lounge or chair, they all come up very early for a cuddle
-
thats because a labradoodle isn't a breed, so you refer to your dog on here as a lab cross or a poodle cross, the other is just a stupid made up name for a dog that is not a pure breed

My last litter whelped in the garage that is internal with a door from the main house, it was well heated and just like another room of the house, they sleep in there until they leave for their new homes, works well for me

very interested to know if many breeders only do the one mating, as most people I speak with like to do two or more. I was told by a very good breeder that she only ever does the one and it always works well. I have only had two litters and only did the one mating, resulting in 6 and 7 puppies. Do you think two matings or more results in a bigger litter? How many matings do you do and how big are your litters?
