  1. Well we prepare food for our dog, so I know exactly how much rice to give, how much veges and how much meat (~10 chicken necks, 2 hearts or something like that). So yes we measure.... No weight problems at all.
  2. Ok so we got the dose right, at least. When he was very young we used to give it to him every day for 2-3 months, but then I freaked out as they were human ones and I was reading someting about vits, anyway, I thought I stop giving it to him every day. But, given that you all use about the same dose every day, must be good. Thanks heaps. yes, the ones that we use also have chondroitin sulfate, I think they all do these days, I have no idea what it does....... .
  3. I have a question: How much glucosamine can be given to a healthy, 32kg 1 year old puppy. We do it at the moment as I heard it is beneficial even with healthy dogs, we give him 1 tablet every 2-3 days. I heard that 1g is OK, I dont know if that is true or not.
  4. Is there such thing for girl dogs? That would actually be briliant alternative to desexing and if there is such thing for girls they can alternate...... Although I am guessing even shorter term would be fine, I guess around the time the female is in heat, they dont really need 6 month inplant. Does anyone know if they have shorter term implants, like 3 months? As far as temperamet, its I guess like desexing, some dogs have no change in behaviour, some do......
  5. Yes you leave the balcony door open, but most dogs will wait to go outside, if you time it right. Still, many people do it just in case. The thought of having a dog in an apartment has never crossed my mind:) Oh, yes, that is because you live in an amazing country, where there is no need to live in apt unless you want to. Most densly populated places in the world have dogs in apts.
  6. Yep, we come from Europe and hardly anyone has the luxury of having a big back yard. They take their dogs at least 2/day for walks, on the weekends its running at the nearby field and they get along fine, with kids and pets in apartments, which although have balconies are not huge. My dad is of opinion that dogs need space BUT, we have huge back yard and I harly ever see my dog zooming in the backyard all by himself. Usually all the runing happens when we are at home. Yes, its more ideal situation to have big back yard, but your dog primarily needs you love. You take them for a run in the morning, they will sleep most of the day anyway until you go back home.
  7. Can I modify that Q a bit, our dog likes to eat other dogs poo? Is that normal, never his, but loves others? Sorry to sidetack your Q.
  8. I think as long as they are chewing on something, dog toy, etc, should be fine for cleaning teeth, like kongs, or rope toys, etc. Carrots, are rich in vit A, so dont overdo, but noisymina can tell you how much they give, I think 1/day should be fine.....
