  1. Just to let you all know that everything is going well. After a few days they are now running around the loungeroom together under close supervision. Nobody has been bitten, swiped or scratched. It has all been just play. So that's great. Thanks for all your advice. Jo
  2. Great article. In fact the website seems to have lots of great articles. Thanks for the link hlk70g. Holly is pretty calm for a puppy and she knows where bed is. We should try and tire her out before their first meeting too. Hopefull that way she will be too pooped to get too excited. We will find out tomorrow! Thanks everyone. I am feeling a lot more confident now. I'll let you know how it went.
  3. Our little pup is Holly, I just talked to the cat breeder and they have a dog so the cat has seen one before. We are going to pick up the (un-named) kitten on Saturday. Wish me luck!! I am more concerned about their initial meeting than the rest of it. Do you think I should leave the kitty in the carrier so that Holly can give her a sniff or do you think that would freak the cat out? What have your experiences been? We are now picking up the kitten on Saturday, she is ready a week early because she was big enough to get desexed with all her brothers.
  4. You asked for it...Here is a picture of our pup when she was a bit over 8 weeks old. She is very cute if I do say so myself. And I know, a bengal! She will be a crazy little handful. I hope she doesn't think the pups ears are a toy!! I am thinking that she will end up the boss of our little animal kingdom. Hope the pic works. Cheers!
  5. Hi, Thanks for the advice. You are so right about the pup thinking the kitty is a toy! That is one of my main concerns. They will only be spending time together under strict supervision and the dog goes outside when we're out, we put her crate outside with her if she wants to nap or hide from birds (she's just a little freaked out by them, sook!). The pup has a bed in the loungeroom where she knows to go when it is time to be quiet and she sleeps in her crate in the laundry at night. She's not allowed on the furniture etc. She's pretty well behaved for a baby wei. I've heard how naughty some of them have been. Keep the great advice coming!!
  6. Hi, I would like some advice on what the best approach would be to introducing a new Bengal kitten to our Weimaraner puppy. The puppy will be 15 weeks old when we get the kitten. She is a very friendly pup and the breeder had a cat that didn't bother her. We have thought about putting the kittens litter and food in the spare bedroom with a baby gate on the door, big enough for kitty to get to but keeps the pup out. She will have a big climbing tree in the lounge to escape to. Hopefully the pup will be fine. She is very gentle when she plays with her friends at puppy school. At 14kg she is A LOT bigger than all the other pups there. Any thoughts would be great. Fingers crossed. Thanks in advance, Jo
