Ahhhhh Souff, so prophetic all those years ago. There were some of us that kept on harping 'docking is only the start' but still we didn't get the support from many of those that said 'doesn't concern me, I don't have a docked breed' And look what is happening today. Still, there will be those that still don't need to get involved because 'it doesn't concern me, I don't have a big, long eared, snub nosed, long backed etc etc dog' Has anyone heard anymore on this warrant? Has another breeder been visited yet? What a scary place for dogs to live!!!

When compiling catalogues I go alpha by exhibitors name and if they have multiples then alpha by dogs name. eg. Finest Hot Chic goes before Finest Hot Girl. As an exhibitor I ALWAYS order a catalogue, I can't function without one. Just to see how many dogs before mine to see how much time I have and to mark results.

It may be that being such a small class the judge told the exhibitor they were only critiquing the first 2 dogs? Whatever the situation it is up to the steward to inform the exh they MUST stay till the judge had finished their crit. Was the steward not doing their job?

I would look at a bitch that is like your dog in type and in whelp. Unrelated so you can broaden the gene pool. That way if she has a nice bitch puppy you then have two bitches you can use your dog on (supposing he is good enough of course)

It sounds like they have another breeder in their sights. It has been suggested they have asked for breeding records for one breeder :p

Inspired by the other stewards thread. For those that do actually steward, what are some of the 'gems' that have been said to you.

Talk to your local ranger. They usually know something. I remember the Wagga ranger saying they were aware of organised fights in the area but because they change venue frequently it is hard to 'spring' them.

Unfortunately not quite all. Unfortunately two grumpy old so and sos spring to mind without hesitation I don't understand why these people keep stewarding when we have so many great stewards available.

I thought the idea of the belly bands was to stop them peeing, not give them something to pee IN. When walking the coated dogs why not just put the side feathering up in bands?

I will start off with Vicky Rose she is a fairly new steward but always helpful, loud clear voice, knows her job and is ALWAYS pleasant. So to Vicky :p

I had a cocker bitch that I nearly lost as a 3 month old, she lost every skerrick of feathering, I mean EVERY, she looked like a GSP, and was pin thin. I had judged her to be pick of the litter so decided to keep her around to see if she would bounce back. Well bounce back she did and I started showing her at 18 months of age. It took her 4 months to be able to get around the ring on more than one leg at a time Nearly every judge told me that 'when that girl gets her act together she will win!' what are you on about dude......i dont have a puppy (yet) and how is me getting a puppy placing it in danger? You personally haven't got a pup yet (thank goodness) but your sister has and by bringing that puppy into a parvo infected house you HAVE put it in danger. No, if we are mating a bitch she stays at home from her first day in season (apart from if she is going somewhere else for the mating).

RF, is this the Amstaff breeder of blues? If so I think you will all find that when they say 'main pedigree' they mean exactly that, pedigree papers, not 'main register' as in ANKC.
