I was entered (Boxers only) but didn't end up going. There you go, always a logical explanation. Didn't realise you had boxers Thank you sooooooo much everyone for the congrats for PIS but unfortunately it wasn't me, it was the pointee damn damn damn (sorry Steve) wish it was me. Finn did, however, get JIG and RCC, not bad for 1st show back as he was very playful in the ring and on the table

Hey Yarrowfell, I see you have pugs, look out for your steward, make sure you have a lead for EVERY dog and ANSWER YOUR CALL! We should meet as I will be hanging around if Micky Workhorse needs a hand. What classes are you in so I know when it is you? ETA, I meant that in a very nice way when I said look out for your steward He really is an excellent steward Hmmmmm, no wonder you didn't reply to this post. Me thinks you josh? You weren't even entered! Wonder what that was all about?

That bad? For our first show back we got RCC and Junior in Group. I have to thank everyone for all the fabulous hugs, it was an extremely bad day for me made better because of you all. And also thank you to Kurt (I found out that was your name) for your lovely comments.

Hi Trish, just tried to answer your PM, so here it is, sorry everyone. Unless of course he has come from Melb. It isn't that long since they have had to chip. Make sure they scan down the front legs and all over. Hooley's chip had migrated halfway down his front leg. About how old do you think he may be? There is also a breeder who lives in Wogonga, um um um Jenny someone, will look it up and get back to you.

Foxie (Smooth)? Ta -
Yes Esky, I think about $8.00 entry fee. When you get to Henty turn left down the main street, at the crossroads turn right, follow the road as it curves around and the first street turn right and you will see the grounds just up on your left. When you go through the gate the dogs are just up on the right, can't miss them.

Do you know that the dog maybe didn't come into season at 5 months and had a litter at 7 months by ceasar? This would leave the same scar. Rehome without desexing and there is definately the possibility the new owners could decide to 'have a litter for the kids' or whatever reason. Sorry, open up and check.

I am so sorry I took over this thread. I just saw it and knew I had to say why my Hool was my heart dog. To everyone who has lost their heart dog I know how you feel. To those who still have their heart dogs, enjoy. GSPX3, that is exactly what I had with Hooley for the day, he woke up at 9am and had had the stroke, he still knew us and wagged his merry little cocker tail at us but couldn't walk. I guess I was lucky enough to be able to spend the day with him on my lap, patting him, kissing him and telling him how much he means to me, how much I love him.
-
This is what I posted in the show forum this morning about my heart dog. Early yesterday morning Hooley suffered a stroke. I was able to hold him in my arms all day and tell him how much he means to me and how much of a special dog he has been for all this time. Then yesterday at 5pm he was given his wings. Hooley was my life, my heart, my soul, my everything. I don't know how I am going to function without him. Play safe with your sister and mum at the rainbow bridge till we meet again. I love you totally Hooley. Sandy Hooley was my heart dog and I always said I didn't think he could live without me and I know I couldn't live without him. I never EVER thought the day would come...but it did....yesterday....and now I don't know how to carry on without him and I can't understand why he went without me. Hooley, my heart dog.
-
Thank you so much everyone. Crappy night last night, still can't stop the tears this morning but I do know the hurt will lessen and the good memories will come back, just not now. Where is that heartbeat at my feet? Where is that loving look? We were supposed to be together forever and I just can't understand why he has gone without me

Oh I am soooooo jealous!!!!! I want one I want one!
-
Maybe the hands on is what is upsetting them (don't mean 'upset' upsetting). I free stack. Just walk them a few steps, as you are stopping say 'stand' and the very second they do stand give them a treat. No stand, no treat. At this stage don't worry about where their feet are. When they get the 'stand' down then if they aren't standing 'correct' step into them to get them to back a little while saying 'back' then the second they put those feet in the right place say 'stand' and give them a treat. No stand, no treat. Don't forget the high pitched excited 'good dog' when they do well.

Totally agree, the title should be accurate.
-
But if, by doing your own thing, you actually put up one of the 'big winners' are you going to be seen as following the sheep? I too will be doing my own thing but it sounds like, as I said before, damned if you do and damned if you don't.
-
See this type of statement makes me wonder why I want to be a judge. So what you are saying is that, when I am a judge, if I judge one of these top winning dogs and find it is an excellent example of the breed then I shouldn't put it up because I will be seen as following the fad? Isn't that just the same? Putting a dog down because I may be seen to be face judging? Damned if you do and damned if you don't. Do I really want to do all this study and hard work just to be thought of as corrupt?

People will get use to it. For ages (and sometimes still) we get Seel-id when our prefix is Ceilidh pronounced Kay-Li.

I do NSW and Vic catalogues. In NSW you must have: Exh; dogs name; rego no; dob; sire; dam. In Vic you must have: exh; dogs name; dob; breeder; sire; dam. I find it interesting that Vic must have breeder but no dogs rego no.?

We haven't even started showing for the year yet and NEVER have shows with over 750 while our closest big city of Melbourne (over 4 hours drive) has already had something like a dozen or more shows already. So, with the double points plus around a 12 show start it won't be worth it for me to enter the rising star. Mind you, 2009 my boy finished 8th Terrier in NSW, 2nd Foxie in NSW and 7th Foxie Nationally. Now that made him VERY competitive but without the double points. I also must point out that he NEVER had a gimme win, ALL his wins were good wins, he had several classes in show which kept him competitive. I am disappointed but not devistated. I will still put him in the BOB and National to see how he fares.
-
As an exhibitor my name starts with B so I am mostly in first and it doesn't worry me at all. I do, however, get confused when I am not first in the ring
-
Yes, there was the breed late last year where the one person had 19 dogs entered and 17 were absent Still didn't win the pointscore :D I won't be entering the rising star this year as with double points we woudn't have a hope in hell. Last year, even though we didn't have big shows, my boy never had a gimme, only had less than half the amount of shows of his litter mates and was still up there with them. Not a bad effort at all! But pointless this year.
