  3. Actually, Clipperworld have them reduced from $249 to $199 at the moment! Just found it. http://www.clipperworld.com.au/shop/index....amp;productId=2
  4. I got mine for $220 when they were on special, but after a quick google the cheapest I can see them now for is $240 at vetnpetdirect http://www.vetnpetdirect.com.au/WAHLSS#WAH...;utm_medium=cpc
  5. Hi Rex, I have a cocker too and bought a pair of Wahl clippers for him 6 months ago. I use them about every 6 weeks on him, and so far they have been good. The model is KM-SS, the SS stands for single speed. They also come with the size 10 blade which is the one my breeder recommended for around his head and ears.
  6. You know, I tried this method on my friend's pup who has a bad mouthing problem and it worked!! He hasn't tried to bite me since but licks my hand like crazy now Nekhbet showed us how to do this to our pup who was also mouthing a lot, and it worked almost immediately. On the odd occasion he tries to mouth me now, I do a loud 'aghh' and he stops. He just needs the occasional reminder when he is worked up.
  7. ty Steve. The amount of animals was of a concern and I feel incredibly for those that went through that horrendous day and are dealing with the aftermath. Its good to know that there are other aspects of the animals and the familys situation that are being looked after.
  8. If this post is inappropriate, I am happy for it to be deleted. I am concerned about the welfare of all these animals, if the owners cant afford to buy food, how are they able to provide the necessary care to worm, trim hooves, immunise, provide emergency vet care for all these animals? Its great that people are helping but I hope the long term welfare of these animals is also being looked at.
  9. Thanks u2 for clearing that up...was a bit of a surprise to see the little wriggler. ewww
  10. I'm a bit confused about a recent incident with worming, maybe someone can shed some light on this for me please. I have two dogs, 10mo cocker and 14 yo dachshund. They are both wormed with Sentinel Spectrum at the start of each month. On the 30th July, I had a foster dog arrive, a gorgeous dachshund. She wasnt eating that much for the first couple of days, I waited until she was eating properly than I wormed all three dogs on the 2nd Aug, which was two Mondays ago. Than, on Monday just gone (a week later) I was out picking up poops, and noticed my cockers poop looking slimy, and I noticed what I suspect to be a round worm alive and wriggling. How can this be after only a week being wormed? My yard is kept very clean of poops, picked up every day. I had also checked my new fosters poop before and after worming, I could see no evidence of worms there. I phoned Sentinel, and was advised to worm them again. I wormed my cocker again, but this time I used Excelpet from the supermarket, as I didnt want my boy to be doubled up on the heartworm and flea component. Doesnt worming offer any protection at all, or does it only kill current worms and they can pick up the eggs/larvae again within days?? Thanks.. Anna
  11. Hi Jedi...so sorry that your little boy has been diagnosed with a heart condition. My old girl was on Vetmedin however i cant say that it effected her appetite. But I will say that the medication seemed to work wonders with her, it really regulated her heart and improved her overall daily quality of life. Good luck with your boy, I would contact your vet and see if they can give him something to settle his tummy or improve his appetite.
  12. I love the photo above...gorgeous! Which one is Elbies favourite toy? I tried the muffin tin and tennis ball exercise last night with my cocker and the little guts had it sorted within a couple of minutes. He didnt bother with picking the ball up in his mouth, just flicked it out with his nose whilst desperately trying to get the food. lol.
  13. My girl Gemma had two attacks of GV..both happened at night time. The first time I woke up to hear her staggering around my bedroom, i turned on the light and immediately thought she was having a heart attack as she had a heart condition. She had pooped and wee'd and was just terribly confused. I called out the vet, thinking that i should be saying my goodbyes to her. But the vet was able to diagnose GV, and said that there was a good chance that she could make a pretty good recovery, which she did. She was able to get back to about 90% of the way she was, but after that she always had a slight head tilt and her balance was slightly off. I thank god that night that the vet that came out (emergency vet that wasnt my reg vet) was very experienced and was able to diagnose it within about ten minutes. He was brilliant. The second time wasnt as bad, and as I knew what was happening I just held her and spoke to her to help her stay calm.
  14. I dont feed entirely from the Kong, but mentally subtract from his evening meal what I would equate to being in the Kong.
  15. Cool....I will also raid my stash and see if I can get at least one or two made. Without going through the whole thread, is there a particular theme going and what size do you want the blocks to be? I am pretty flexible with colours...is there a certain colour you want more of? Thanks SBT!
  16. It was so lovely to meet Helen, she was great with my dogs and was soooo patient! Ive never had any of my dogs photographed so it was a bit of fun for us all. It also was special because of Georgies age, and I dont have many good photos of her at all. Jordan was chuffed that his legs and shoes got onto a website...lol! Thanks Helen
  17. My 7mo cocker used to drink heaps when I first got him. He came from a breeder, and I was also concerned about the amount he drank. But after a week or so he settled down and is now drinking normal amounts. I put it down to the stress of being away from him family and going to a new home.
  18. I have a 14yo dachshund and a 7mo cocker spaniel....its only JUST in the last week or two that my puppy has started easing up on my old girl...prior to that I was having to seperate them continually. My gorgeous oldie wants nothing to do with the puppy, and I have to accept that and protect her from him. You may have to do that with your puppy....when I got my puppy I had two oldies, sadly Gemma passed away and neither wanted much to do with him. I guess my situation is the opposite...I keep my two seperate all the time when I am not home, so that my oldie can get some time out and just in case things get out of hand.
  19. what does the part 'but something else entirely - and its not a good thing....' mean?? maybe i am a bit slow, but I am defintely not getting that latter part.
  20. My fella is 6 months too.....randy teenagers!!!
  21. Gorgeous...! Would love to get some tickets, can u please PM me the banking info. Are the pink stones called gemstone diamonds, does that mean they are pink diamonds? I cant imagine they are as pink diamonds are sooooo expensive and rare. Are the red and yellow stones sapphires?
  22. lol Krislin....took me a second to get that!
  23. Yikes...its pretty scary when it happens the first time! Poor Lincoln....how old is he? I took my boys matt away for a few days and so far he seems to have broken the pattern.
  24. Thanks for the advice everyone...I will definately try the glass of water and sugar next time, and I have started to remove his mat as soon as he starts. So far so good.
  25. He humps the same item, his dog bed, but at different times. I havent tried to remove the item, but I have tried to distract him. He is usually distracted briefly, but goes back to humping the bed. I can persevere with distraction, toys and stuff, if this would help. Teebs, did he grow out of it? Did you have to get out the gloves and KY???
