  1. My youngest sheltie girl suckles on one of her toys. She even tried sucking one of my toes one day Not a nice feeling at all. She loves having something in her mouth from toys to balls, to dead leaves to rocks.
  2. I get the Love Em Liver Cookies as a treat for my dogs. Nice handy size for a little snack.

  4. No, haven't bought any out of date but I did get caught the other week by an out of date bag of kibble (Advance Turkey & Rice). When I opened it, I thought it smelled a bit "different" but since I normally get the Chicken & Rice didn't really worry. By the third day of giving it to my dogs, they were curling their lips at it and didn't want to eat it. Mine normally hoover anything on the ground. Was talking to a friend who asked if I had checked the "use by date??" Ummmm no, so went and had a look on the bag - yep expiry date 12/3/2009 8 months out of date. Took it back to the place I bought it and swapped for a bag that was fresh. Had to coax the kids to try the new bag when I got home, they still thought I was trying to poison them
  5. Just make sure that you "underdose" re weight to ml than "overdose" otherwise you could cause your dog to become constipated. It does seem to calm the tummy and has an antibiotic in it as well.
  6. My girls names - Gypsy, Brandi, Tango, Zara, Dixie, Kitty
  7. Yes, it is rather disgusting, isn't it? Doesn't take much to have a couple of plastic baggies in your pocket so that they are "on hand" when needed.
  8. Sorry SnoFyre but can't offer any suggestions apart from ringing the RAS around 9.00am and asking them.
  9. He is good with the dogs, isn't he? Am sure he will have Cullen feeling better soon.
  10. I don't think you are going to get enough pressure to rinse all the shampoo from the coat which will just make your dog very itchy. If you can't use your bath or shower, would either get a mobile dog washer to come to the house or take him to a DIY wash place.
  11. My oldest girl who turned 11 today has just started catrophen shots due to arthritis in her front elbow. She has only had two shots so far so will be interesting to see how she goes.
  12. Welcome back Ambervale Lovely to see Leo looking so handsome and happy and also to see your lovely sheps again.
  13. To be honest I'd rather them not take the puppy at the end of the time if they really didn't want it... Sorry, probably didn't word it properly but was trying to put across what you are have written Aziah. Better the pup goes to a home where it is wanted than someone who is half hearted and still not sure.
  14. Was going to ask if they had fully paid for the pup yet. I would be asking that they pay for the pup now otherwise you will place pup elsewhere. The last thing you need is for them to then contact you after the extended period to say they have changed their mind and won't be getting the pup.
  15. Do you also spray mist the coat before brushing? This helps stop static and also the hair from breaking. With the shelties, I mist the coat before brushing and then the coat is brushed linebrushed "backwards" ie against the way it grows. This makes sure that you get down to the skin to remove dead hair. Knots that form behind ears are gently combed out.
  16. Received mine yesterday but haven't got it out of the packaging yet. Will let you know how it goes. I like the fact that it has two speeds on it as well.
  17. I would also recommend Peter Schofields. He is very gentle and the dogs love him. I had to take a young sheltie who had been injured by one of the older ones out to him. She had pinched nerves in her neck, shoulder and back and he had her up and walking about with two visits.
  18. Sorry I didn't see your post yesterday - I would recommend Marilyn & Jim Gill at Austral Vets. Hope your pup gets better soon.
  19. Whereabouts are you Sas10? If you let us know, I am sure someone will be able to give you a recommendation to a good doggy chiro in your area. Glad it is only a pinched nerve - poor baby.
  20. They started near my house at around 8.00pm and have been going ever since. They have been letting them off every night for the last 3 weeks. My dogs luckily are not scared but I do feel for any dogs in the neighbourhood that don't like fireworks. Must be frightening for them as they are the ones that screech and also big blasts. Still going off at the moment - wish they would just blow themselves up ggrrrr Must be an awful lot of permits given out NOT
  21. Thanks, yes website up and working again and I am poorer by $29.00 Great buy and couldn't pass it up.
  22. Oohhh went to have a look at the Pet Dremel but their website doesn't seem to be working. Will try again later.
  23. Sorry to hear that Grover is not well. Big hugs and I hope he improves and is back home soon.
  24. If I was the breeder, I too would be asking for photos of the pup. By the sounds of it, this person is showing the pup so I would have thought they would be in touch with the breeder letting them know how the pup was going attending shows and any wins they may have had. I have noticed that they have not been back to the thread since they first posted? Is this because they didn't get the answer they were hoping for? All it takes is a few minutes to sit down, say hi, fred is doing well, enjoys going to shows and we are having some success. Attached is a photo. Regards blahblah blah. Nothing real hard about it
  25. I think you will find that you can only be covered under your home insurance policy if it is a "home based business" ie an office type business. I presume that your photography will take you out & about or is it just taking studio photographs in one room? If it is studio photos in one room, your insurer may endorse your policy to cover this. If a child suffers a personal injury which could cause permanent disability, the claim could stay open until they reach the age of 18 and will take into consideration loss of wages, living conditions so that could easily amount to $5 million.
