I need to buy some ear plugs :D  Mine have just been for a big run outside, had their dinner and back out for another short play and back inside. One girl is now sitting in the pen howling cause she wants out LOL Will let them out later but trying to ignore her so they learn that screaming won't get me to open the pen. Yes, three of mine have homes pending and one girl will stay here. They all have lovely homes lined up - one in Adelaide, one up near Newcastle and one will be going to an obedience/agility home.

When you put your ear to her chest, is it rattley? I too would be making sure that there is no definate cleft. Gee she is certainly a chunky monkey.
-
I had one like that in my last litter - I was panicking thinking he had a cleft because he would make this snuffly noise & then have milk come out his nose but he was just a gutz and the bitch had a lot of milk so he was drinking too fast.

Mine are now mainly off Kitty (maybe two or three sucks at night) so they had breakfast at 5.30am this morning and I will feed as soon as I get home from work and then again at 10.30pm nightly. Wish (a) that I didn't have to work or (b) worked closer to home & could visit at lunchtime. Just hope they are all in the puppy pen when I get home :D One of my bosses today told me that they had a new "grandson". Seems his son has bought a staffy baby - Oh bet it's cute, says I. His reply - Oh it is real cute, only little but I suppose that is cause its only 4 WEEKS OLD I just couldn't believe my ears. Seems the "so called breeder" was selling them off cause mum didn't want anything to do with them, wasn't microchipped cause well when they have microchipped before, the buyers haven't changed their details so better for the buyers to get the dogs chipped. I tried to explain that registered breeders do not sell puppies before 8 weeks & that is against the law to sell a puppy without it being microchipped. Yeah but the pup was only $100 so ...... Just decided to shut my mouth & not say anything more but did advise to make sure that puppy was not taken anywhere until two weeks after its first vaccination & if they were not sure of anything to just ask me. I just keep thinking of my babies who are five weeks how they would be sent away from their mum at this age - sure she doesn't want them to suck but she is making sure they know some doggy manners, plus she still makes sure they are clean etc.

Hesa - Kitty hasn't been sleeping with the babies for the last couple of nights and has just about stopped feeding them as well. They are all getting so cheeky - she jumped in to check if any food was left (fat chance) and they all chased her back out of the pen

Some photos from babies first outing in the "big world".

Well the kids had their second day of adventures outside. Poor Grandpa Connor did not appreciate his tail being pulled They had a lovely time running on the grass and eating it as well. Are all asleep at the moment and I am sure will be quite upset to be back in their puppy pen when they wake up :D

Well mine must have had a great time in the pen today - only trouble is, they didn't miss the poop when they were playing so will be having sponge baths later today If it isn't too windy or cold tomorrow, may take them out for their first time outside. Was up at 12.30pm last night to a crying pup, wanting a midnight snack from mum. Once I let her out for a quick toilet, she then hopped back in and gave them a meal. You forget how much noise a little thing can make Everyone's babies are looking good. Will have to sit down and start thinking up names for them this weekend so I can send off the paperwork. Then on to microchipping & eye tests. Can't believe they will be five weeks old this weekend, only another 3-4 and they will be leaving for their new homes
-
Have been trying to think of names but nothing exciting comes to mind so will wait a few days. They all get called "puppy" at the moment - very original :D

Here are a couple of pictures of the other girl in the litter.

OMG they are just so cute & cuddly Teamsnag What a gorgeous photo of them all. Have you decided on who you are keeping yet? It is so hard to choose.

Just had to post this picture of one of my baby girls. She looks so cute in this photo (biased mum )

One more (sorry couldn't fit them in & I am not sure how to use photobucket)
-
Well the babies had their first taste of freedom from the whelping box into the wide world of the puppy pen
-
Just stand clear with the worming syrup Rajacadoo :D I think more gets spat back at you than goes down Poor babies - it must taste foul.
-
Showmummy, will check with a friend in the USA for you as she had mentioned a friend who lost a litter from suspected herpes virus and she told me that there is a tablet you can give thru pregnancy and whilst bitch is nursing that helps keep the virus under control. I just can't think of the name of the tablet off hand.
-
Oh, almost forgot - the nail cutting went well. Just hope the worming goes as good :D but I don't like my chances

Because I have had to go back to work this week, I put up the baby gates so that Kitty had the run of the kitchen and family room. I have security shutters on the back sliding door so left an opening so she could come & go out to the backyard to toilet and left the puppy pen ajar so that she could jump in & out of the box to feed & toilet the babies. Connor stays in a run during the day. Have to work out something for next week as I will let them out of the whelping box over the weekend to have more room to play but I need for Kitty to be able to get into them as well. I might have a solution but will have to see over the weekend. Will start giving them some food early next week as their teeth are just starting to come thru but Kitty still has lots of milk too.

Nail clipping time here tonight and then worming syrup on saturday Let the fun begin LOL
