  1. Teamsnag - that is no good. Hope all are well soon for you. I went to the Daschie (sp) National yesterday and got a couple of photos but don't think they are very good but I was given the goodies bag which has some neat stuff in it. When I get home, I will get your snail mail addy & post to you. Am off to see an all breeds show tomorrow and am looking forward to seeing one. Will get back on DOL later this week.
  2. I remember a young "ethnic" guy with a small staffy type pup. He had tied the pup outside the petrol station while he went inside. When I was walking past, the puppy wagged its tail and came forward for a pat. I gave it a pat and told he "what a good boy he was". Young guy says "don't touch him, I'm gunna make a fighting dog out of him" I just looked at the puppy and said " poor dog, pity you can't pick your owner". I never take my shelties to any dog park - just too many idiots around my area who think it is OK for their dogs to run up and be a nuisance.
  3. Well I am off on my holiday tomorrow so will try and visit while I am over in the States. Good luck to all those showing their babies. Ella had a lovely time at the shows last weekend meeting people and dogs. We were a failure in the ring but she did everything right so I was please with her.
  4. I would be very wary of giving him any dairy products at the moment. It could cause his tummy to get upset again.
  5. What a lovely surprise and a thoughtful gift. I am sure the person would love to meet your dog in person - your dane can then say "thank you"
  6. Oh good luck Hesa - hope the weather clears and that they enjoy their first show. Ella had her first show the other weekend and didn't put a foot wrong. I have two shows this Friday so hopefully she will good again
  7. BB - they are just beautiful. Are you keeping all three? Rajacadoo - how did your baby end up with its flight? Hope you got an apology at least from the airline. I was lucky that my baby who went to Adelaide travelled with his new parents and was on a direct flight. Hate when you have to change planes. Well my little girl Ella had a very social weekend. We went into my work so she could meet everyone. Thoroughly enjoyed all her pats and her ride in the car. Saturday, the dogs & I went over to Nanny & Poppy's house. They have a huge backyard so the dogs had a great time chasing each other. Sunday Ella & I went to the Holroyd Pets Day out - she had lots of people patting her and telling her how cute she was. Didn't let her walk around as too many people and too many dogs.
  8. Thanks tlc - she is very cute but very naughty as well :D
  9. Thanks for the reminder of this site. Here is one I did of my young girl, Ella.
  10. Have answered your questions in the sheltie sub forum.
  11. Oh bugger so sorry to hear that he didn't make it. Hugs to you and your daughter when she gets home. It is never easy when we lose one no matter how young or old they are.
  12. Maybe you could also buy him some vetbed that is used in whelping boxes. Lovely and snuggly and dries very quickly when you wash it.
  13. If he is not interested, it normally means that they don't have the energy to suck. You need to get some feeds into him every two hours. If you have a vet close by, I would be contacting them to arrange to take him in for subcutaneous injections of fluid. As to the bitch panting, they normally do that straight after a litter as it brings the milk down. I also place a sheet or blanket over the puppy pen surrounding the whelping box to keep out any drafts. It is amazing if you get down on the floor with a match or lighter and watch the flame how draughty it can be. Good luck and I hope he starts to improve for you. But if you don't think he is improving, don't wait. Puppies that little can go downhill very fast. Keep us all posted
  14. Well Ella had her first show today - we didn't do as good as you did Teamsnag Congratulations Ella was 3/4 and went around the ring like she had been there before. I was very happy with her and she thoroughly enjoyed herself. She was also the youngest in the class.
  15. Is he dehydrated? When you pinch the skin on the back of his neck, does it quickly go back into place or does it seem to stay up? He may need some shots of fluid under the skin to keep him hydrated and then to be placed on the teat every two hours around the clock. I know you don't get much sleep but had to do that with one of my boys who just didn't have the energy to suck and the others were pushing him off. After 48 hours he was fine.
  16. Gee I hope he is found safe & sound. Will keep my fingers crossed.
  17. Yeah the heat last year was something awful but then we have had other Spring Fairs where there has been nothing but rain & freezing. You just can't pick what it will do.
  18. Yeah, I wanted to get in some lead training with Ella this weekend but it has been raining all morning. Might have to do some up & down the hall way At least she might learn to walk in a straight line
  19. Hesa - Ellas has her first show on the 12th Sept at Illawarra Collie & Sheltie show. Have to start practising more with her on the lead
  20. Oh, forgot to mention that I am off to the States on the 1st October & guess where I am going on my first day? The Dachie National Will try & get some photos for you.
  21. Teamsnag - I like the look of your girl too. Good luck keeping & showing three
  22. Dog shows are held at The Bill Spilstead Complex on Luddenham Road, just off Mamre Road. Shows normally start at 9.00am and dogs are judged in alphabetical order. Am sure there would be a few siberians there for you to meet.
  23. Well my last little guy will be off to his new home tomorrow. Had a lovely family come out to the show to meet him today and all fell in love with him. Am sure he is going to one spoilt little man but I am going to miss him terribly.
  24. God shelby, are you proposing a mixed marriage :D Well Mercedes, you have to admit - they sure would be interesting little tackers I still have one boy still here - he was a bit smaller than the others so decided to keep him for a few more weeks but will have to start looking for his new home soon as I am getting too attached
