Sarcopotic Mites And Treatment With Revolution
Shelby replied to cowanbree's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Sounds like they have all been in contact with something. Have you washed their bedding in something different? Washed floors with a different product? If no mites are showing up in the scrapings, it doesn't sound like it is sarcoptic mites. You might have to slowing walk through each area they use and just think if anything different has been used or changed. Good luck - poor babies must sick of being itchy -

I wouldn't be walking mum around at the vet either. Normally if I have to take mum & babies to the vet, I get someone else to come with me. I carry the bitch and they carry the babies. I also take a blanket or towel to put on the table as well.
-
I cut up a spare piece of vet bed that I had and gave a good size piece to each of the new puppy owners to take with them so that puppy had something that smelt like home to sleep on for their first few nights, along with all the rest of the items already mentioned here.

Well, gee, if it is sooo easy, wonder why she doesn't do it herself??? I think your costs are very reasonable for a dog that size

Doh, the link doesn't work for me?? I just get a page with a picture of the corolla on a hill.

I would second Peter - always gentle with the dogs and they all love him. His prices are very reasonable as well. -

Other Ways To Transport Puppy Home By Car Other Then A Crate?
Shelby replied to Nadine83's topic in Puppy Chat
You could even borrow a soft crate or a pp20 or pp40 (not sure which is the medium size?) to transport in the car. Just make sure puppy has not eaten just before transport and have some old towels handy in case of car sickness or little accidents. -

Or have the temperaments on some breeds changed because of the way some owners treat them? More like "little people" than animals - allowing them to do as they please without chastising? How many pet people do you see laughing at the little swf growling and lunging at bigger dogs? Dogs are dogs and need to know where their place is in their pack (which is below any human members). Also when they talk about pedigree dogs, are they registered with ANKC or just two dogs of the same breed being bred whilly nilly and just handed over without thought to whom they are being sold to. There are different characteristics in each breed and some thought needs to go into owning a dog based on not only its looks but temperament of the breed as well. I don't believe that temperaments have gotten worse. Most breeders, no matter what the breed, want stable temperaments in their dogs. Very hard to show and or obedience trial a dog with a high strung temperament.

And another one cause she looks very pretty in this one

The last litter I had in June 2010, I took 2 weeks leave. First week I was home with babies 24/7 and then the remaining week of leave, I took as half days. By that time, the babies were three weeks and doing well. Mum had plenty of room to leave the whelping box if she wished. As pups grew, the pen had a small gate in it so that the bitch could jump out to relax away from babies but could jump back in to feed them.

I was having a problem with fence running/barking when a dog moved into the house behind. I bought some of the garden matting (black woven plastic) and stapled it to the fence from the bottom up. This stopped my dogs from seeing through the palings and calmed down things a lot. Luckily place behind was a rental and the owners & dog moved out.

What a hard decision that judge had to pick his BIS from all of those dogs - all were just gorgeous. But did love the personalities shining through on both the BIS and the runner up.
