Finding it interesting to read all these postings. We have the same heated discussion in New Zealand at present as the Animal Welfare is currently being reviewed (again) and tail docking is on the agenda (again). However, it is fascinating to see so many people fighting the cause when there are so many other dog issues for all breeds, not just those docked, that are of a more pressing nature. So it is allowed to breed litter after litter out of bitches, regardless of age, back-to-back breedings, bitches that have 2 litters on the ground by the time they are 2 years old,etc, etc? That to me is a real issue and breaches animal welfare.

Disappointing as it may seem, I'm usually a winner if and when I'm showing. Have taken to showing under selected judges only this year, i.e. those that don't know many people in this part of the world.

Prove no - however to judge dogs you actually need to look at the dogs not at the handlers' faces ...

I totally agree with this idea! I think all people should be cut out of Dogzonline profiles. There is far too much face judging going on - and we in NZ have recenty had a bout of judges that basically had already made a decision before their plane touched down.

I noticed that there are several Results posted on the this saying something like 'shortlisted for BiG' or such like. I wonder if this is good or bad? Initially my thoughts are 'wow' - that dog did well, but after some more thought I changed my mind. If the dog is shortlisted for BiG and does not take either BiG or R/U BiG does this mean that on closer inspection it didn't deliver what the judge was hoping for? Not sure if that is actually a good thing to post? What do others think?
