  1. I remember Levi (& if I remember correctly, you & your husband who used to come down with you :D ), sorry to hear he's gone to the bridge . Sorry I cant help with someone to help with Rani, hopefully someone else will be able to.
  2. MyRani, IMO it sounds like you need a behaviouralist rather than an obedience course or club, however I agree that you probably need to establish some sort of pack heirachy as a first priority (a good behaviouralist should be able to help you with that as well). I dont know of anyone but perhaps others can suggest someone in Brisbane (apart from Val Bonney). Can I ask when did you train at Logan & what was your dogs name? :D

    Wash

I asked a similar question a couple of weeks ago, but about long haired breeds. Personally I have Fido's puppy shampoo & the FreeItch wash (left over from my other dog) , but when its finished I will look at getting smething else, possibly Aloveen, Laser Lites or Plush Puppy were all recommended .
  4. Not sure why you say you need "more" than a CCCQ club but I can recommend Logan if it is of any help, I trained there for 6 years - Im with MLass, I am wary of commercial places.
  5. Hmppphhhh - so mine is the only one who thinks its great to play with his own poo then? Great! Here are my eyes watering  (he doesnt really stink, even though he does play silly buggers sometimes, as Hesapandabear said, shelties dont actually seem to smell very doggy )
  6. I'm with MrsD, Eau de Puppy and Eau de Dog for me. Love it Ahhhh BP, but is it like Jonty's special scent, Puppy Poo-fume? Gotta say Eu De Puppy is fine, but the other one makes my eyes water at times ;) .
  7. Jonty has his own distinctive scent - I think its called Eu De Puppy Poo-fume
  8. Apparently Jonty went to the vets 5 times - just ignore me
  9. Jonty had his trip to the vets on Wednesday for his vaccination - the vet says he needs a third one & shouldnt be taken out (except to known "safe" places) until 7-10 days after the 3rd. So another 6 weeks until we'll be gracing the show ring .
  10. Polished wooden floors ;) , our shepherd is an outside dog, but Jonty is inside the house - god I love queenslanders .
  11. I dont know if there are any others, but Revolution is one of the flea & heartworm combined treatments. I checked Advantix the other day & I think, as you say, it only does fleas, ticks & mosquitos (so in theory it should stop heartworm anyway, but it's not a heartworm medication per se).
  12. Also so sorry to hear the terrible news, especially of one far too young & taken so suddenly . Hope you are at peace now Loch lots of lovely friends to play with now over . Hugs to you & your family caninecoach ;) .
  13. I vote for bee sting (possibly wasp) as well. My mini foxie got stung once & her face swelled up just like your pic - it was quite disconcerting. Luckily she never had any anaphalactic reaction & no problem with breathing or weakness etc, only the huge swelling of the face, but it certainly looked just like that.
  14. Hey Mystiqview, you probably know a friend of mine then - I wont post his name on here, but big tall guy with not much on top with the initials WD .
  15. Oooops, I replied to this in the other thread, but I will put it in here as well. Last club was about $10 or $15/year & $2/class when I left. That was 8 years ago so its probably gone up now. Current club (which we have just joined) is $15/year & $3/class.
  16. Should we also include trial fees & travelling expenses as well?
  17. My last club & dog I trained for 6 years - every week, 3 times a week (2 general training nights + 1 night for trialling dogs only ). For 4 of those years I trained 2 dogs. As for the memberships question, I think it was about $10 or $15/year & $1/class when I first joined, then it went up to $2/class. While I was there I instructed two nights/week for about 5 years & the club very kindly allowed instructors to train their dogs free of charge. Regardless, I would have paid the money to train every night if I had to - as someone else mentioned, I loved training . So it sort of doesnt really show a true indication of cost in my case .
  18. Is this vet actually right down in Foote St or just at the end of the little shops on Mortimer Rd? Years ago I lived down in Coopers Plains & had to take my mini foxie to a Vet near the corner of Mortimer Rd - they did a great job with her & they were really reasonably priced but really gave me the third degree about how she got hurt in the 1st place. Turns out she was kicked by my horse (I wasnt home at the time, but someone else saw it), but they really gave me a hard time about how it happened & made veiled hints that a person had kicked her (I can only assume they meant me! ) & I never felt comfortable there again. This is my current vet - no complaints so far although I havent had anything done apart from vaccinations there, but my next door neighbours dog got kicked by a horse & they were very good to her (he was DOA, but they still tried to revive him etc & were very supportive afterwards & no charge). My only comment is that they arent very cheap but not particularly expensive either, but then as someone else mentioned, Im not sure that money should really come into it except as the last factor when deciding on a vet, you can always get more money but you can't replace your pet.
  19. Asked my vet today about prices for Jonty's second C5 next week & the vaccination (including consult & health check etc) is $77.50 & microchipping is $45. Interestingly there is a vaccination & microchipping day on at the one of the shows at Durack the weekend after next - $25 for microchipping & $38 for C5 vaccinations.
  20. Just a quick one - here he is looking like a drowned rat in the kitchen sink
  21. Rugerfly - Douglas could always vaccuum him instead of you washing him :p . Well after the boys spilt sugar all over him this morning I decided it was time for Jonty's first bath. For this time I used the Fido's shampoo & rinse & just the tiniest bit of Pantene washed out really well & he's come up looking like a moviestar . I'll post some pics later - I guess they had best go in the photos section, I got some of him looking like a drowned rat which is always a giggle, the kids had no idea that he would look like that :D .
  22. I want to know how you know what a bum smells like? She certainly is a lovely looking girl glad things have improved .
