  1. This girl looks quite sweet but may be too old or tall? Finely built though ;) http://www.petrescue.com.au/listings/317644
  2. Wow thanks for all the advice everyone. Really appreciate it, I will reevaluate his diet and will certainly contact a the vets listed! Thanks again!
  3. Hi everyone, I hope it's ok that I post this here? Please delete if not :) I recently adopted a young male greyhound and have been having some issues with lameness in his front legs. Connor is 11 1/2 months old and was never raced. I adopted him 2 months ago, and at the time his foster carer mentioned he had noticed a slight limp in his believed left front leg after playing zoomies with his foster siblings. I soon too noticed this limp after he had run around in the yard andd believed it to be his front leg. However after a few minutes he seemed ok. I took him to the vet and he was concerned as Connor definetly showed signs of pain when he manipulated his elbow. However, about 2 weeks ago, I noticed Connor limping really badly now on his right elbow and he limped for a few days. I then had full body X-rays done and my vet was concerned about the changes in his right front elbow and so sent the X-rays to the amazing orthopaedic specialist, Dr Lidbetter for diagnosis. I have spoken with my vet today and Dr Lidbetter said that he can't see and issues with elbow displaysia or OCD (thank goodness!) but wasnt 100% sure what was going on! He did however mention a possibility could be panosteitis? So I will be doing X-rays again in a month to see if there are any changes. I am a little concerned as I don't know a lot about this condition and was wondering if anyone had experienced it in greys or another breed and is so any advice would be really appreciated! I currently give Connor fish oil everyday, have anti inflammatories in case of flare ups and have him on royal canin maxi junior plus cooked mince, rice, veg and sardines! Sorry about the massive post just a little anxious about my boy :)
  4. Thanks for making everyone aware if these two Clyde - I was about to do the same. Also many thanks for speaking the truth about previous employees (and manager which was me!). That place was my life for the past 9 years and I did everything in my power to make it as successful as possible given the location and facilities. I was extremely proud of the way it was run to strict minimal euthanasia policies (which definitely included breed rescue, as like Clyde pointed out, I would personably contact and arrange it myself!) And yes, the Shelter would be lost without the Friends of The Wingecarribee Animal Shelter - there work always was, and I imagine still is, incredible!

Hi everyone - I hope this is the right place to ask this question? My partner and I will hopefully be welcoming a roughly 14 week old grey pup into our family mod march. I was wondering if anyone had any good advice about the best for for him? I feed my current pets royal canin and was thinking the same for him? Maybe large breed puppy? Plus fresh meat etc? Suggestions would be very welcomed!
  8. According to their Facebook page there is a nice looking young adult male border collie called "patch" at the Wingecarribee animal shelter in moss vale. Number there is 48681520
  9. Woo Hoo!! Thanks for that Trifecta. I knew they had found a home but didn't have any further details. So glad they got to stay together. Fingers and paws crossed this is their last relocation, 3rd time lucky? Thanks to everyone who helped Andrew get Max and Lucy rehomed :)
  10. Thanks SO MUCH everyone for all your help. Im sure Andrew REALLY appreciates it :) Thanks again Trifecta - Fingers and paws crossed Max and Lucy are just what the couple is looking for!
  11. Fantastic!! Thanks so much Trifecta, really appreciate it :)
  12. Hi all, I have been contacted by a friend of a friend who is needing to rehome his 2 beagles. I don't know either the owner, Andrew, or the dogs "Max" and "Lucy" but would like to help him where I can. The dogs are brother and sister and have just turned 6. Andrew states that he rescued the dogs a year ago as the previous owner was going to have the dogs PTS. Apparently Andrews living situation has now changed so he needs to place the dogs into a good home (poor things, being passed around again). I advised Andrew to contact the breeder to see if they would take the dogs back, however the dogs were bought from a pet shop (Which is quite apparent by the photo he sent me as although I'm no expert on the breed, they certainly aren't the best example of the breed that I've seen). I have also had Andrew in contact with NSW Beagle Rescue who have now kindly placed them on their private rehoming page for adoption. Here is their link: http://www.beaglerescuensw.org.au/available/13047&048-max&lucy-p.htm Andrew has contacted me again asking if I knew of any reliable private rescue groups who take in surrendered dogs? (I had previously advised him to avoid council pounds where possible as the pounds resources are generally already very stretched) - So if anyone can offer any advise of a/some groups that may be able to assist, I know he would really appreciate it! As I say, I don't know the dogs but they seem to have been very well loved by Andrew, know basic obedience, are apparently ok with other dogs and cats and good with children. They are of course desexed. Thanks everyone, any advise would be greatly appreciated :)
