  1. Mine is just struggling with his 'cone head' and being a bit sooky, other than that he still wants to play with all his toys and run around like a hooligan. *hugs* to Marley and Max!
  2. I like the guitar and drums.. don't mind singing from time to time.. weird, because I have Singstar at home. OH might actually want to come over since we wouldn't just be talking about dogs. :D I think Mars is just being sooky, he's probably only cuddling up to me so I would give him a scratch since he can't scratch anywhere around his head. I took the cone off as he couldn't sleep properly and as soon as I took it off he was ready to lick his wound, so the cone went back on. I think he's actually more itchy than sore, he's got some rashes and scratches from where they shaved.. scabs are always so itchy!!! He has been a bit more affectionate since Pepper arrived, but more so since he got cone head.
  3. We had a good snooze when I got home, Mars couldn't get comfortable.. he was sleeping at the end of the bed, then he'd come up and snuggle next to me with his cone head, then back to the end of the bed and finally back to shoving his cone head next to me again. Worst snooze ever.. but I do like how he is a tad more affectionate than what he used to be..
  4. The tiny bit of geek left in me is saying... YES PLEASE!!! Thanks for having us over, those cupcakes were so yummy!!! Mmmmm!!
  5. Well, he needs to keep the stitched area clean and dry.. depending on how he goes, he may have to keep the collar on for the full 10 days. I'll see how he goes, if he stops licking I may take it off for him.. but I will most likely keep it on until the swelling has gone down.
  6. Max#1 - Hope Max rests well tonight and doesn't lick his stitches too much. Well.. I'm a cruel cruel Mum.. or I'm sure thats what Mars thinks anyway. Picked him up from the Vet's, he had his sad face on and looked rather snoozy. Mars has an e collar on, or the vet called it the 'naughty collar'. She said she gave him a few chances not to lick his stitches, but he kept doing it.. so the collar went on. He perked up after we gave him a few treats in the car on the drive home and he's almost back to his normal self. Poor boy is just trying to get around with the collar on and he keeps bumping it on things. The way he was looking at me while we were at the vets made me feel so horrible.. Poor Mars wanted to scratch his ear just then, but that darn collar was just in the way so I gave him a bit of a scratch. He's being a bit sooky now lying on the bed attempting to sleep with the e collar on. A few pics of my sad puppy.. sorry the quality isn't great..
  7. Just got a call from the Vet, Mars is awake! Yay!! I wish I wasn't working today so I can go pick him up now! Thank you everyone. Hrm.. we haven't crate trained ours.. they currently sleep in the ensuite for bed time so in a way its kind of like their crate... I'm thinking of crating them at our new place, but am thinking that the crate that I need to get will be huge and will most likely end up as a bench more than anything aswell. Originally they were going to sleep in the laundry, but I don't think thats a good idea. KTB - I will definitely be letting OH know that there are some days that will be bad.. even though he doesn't like obedience atleast he will still walk the dogs and feed them. Just give me a buzz when you take Hoover out to explore the world and I will bring Pepper along one Sunday, or even Saturday.. off-lead area will be better. Oh yes... I still have to post Pepper's origin story.. I don't know how exciting it is though.. Max#1 - Hope Max is going well with his op! wuffles - Ava looks so comfy snuggled in the blanket on the couch! KumaAkita - I think Mars likes being at the Vet more than being at home! He did have puppy preschool there so have always had good experiences.. he had no idea what was happening today! Sorry if I have missed anyone/anything, always hard to reply at work..!
  8. OH actually enjoyed the class, and instructor he likes helps. He didn't really want to go and was very worried she wouldn't pay attention to him, but much to his surprise she did well which I am VERY happy with.. I don't know what I'll do if he had the worst time.. he wouldn't want to take her again! So yes, he liked being the handler and he had seen the class structure before when I took Mars through Beginners'. He seems to like the dogs in their class and Pepper got along with another BC there, after class he took her to the off-lead area to wait for Mars and I to finish and they had no problems, quite happy to play and OH had a good chat with all the other Beginners' handlers. I just hope she keeps up the good work, or else it might deter OH from going.. ;) I think Hoover would be fine in the off-lead area, when Hoover has had his vaccinations let me know and I'll bring Pepper along on Sunday and when all the other dogs are training we can let them frolic in the off-lead area by themselves for a bit. Prior to going to classes Pepper was actually rather poorly socialised with other doggies (my fault), she's frightened of the black lab that barks at her on our walks, bikes, other dogs walking past.. so I didn't know how she would react with so many dogs surrounding her but she was very happy to be running around with all the doggies in the off-lead area and even though she rolled over and was submissive she was content to run after them and have a sniff also. mmmm.... melting moments... yummo!! So I've dropped Mars off for the snip..and to get his retained baby tooth pulled out, he didn't even care that I was gone he's always so happy to be at the vets.
  9. Looks like they're getting along well KTB! Loving their ears! Well, it was Pepper's first obedience class today.. I took Mars so its OH's job with little Pepper. From what I could see with my blurry vision from a distance she did quite well! OH was very happy with her, she sat well, was focussed, dropped and learnt stand. Loose leash walking was a bit difficult though, she was focussed on the treat bag for the first few steps then realised that there were so many other doggies walking around too!! Pepper also had fun meeting other doggies, rather submissive if they ran up to her and say hi.. she'd just roll over and let them sniff her, but she was quite confident to run up to the doggies and sniff them.. our little odd ball, but she had fun and that was the main thing! ETA: There sure has been a lot of rain recently.. our clam shell is now half full and the weeds are the size of small trees now. I'm actually very happy the rain has eased off for a day, it was pouring down last night which woke me and all I could think of was standing out in the cold wet grounds of BDOC...
  10. Santa will be visiting my puppies. I always get my sister's 2 monsters pressies and also my Mum's dogs pressies, last year they got my rabbits presents. Wow Wizzle, you sure are organised!! ETA: Ooooh I might have to buy my 2 ferals some antlers to try...!
  11. Its hard when the first dog was so easy to toilet train. For me Mars learnt unbelievably quickly whereas with Pepper it was an uphill battle. Good luck KTB and little Hoover its bed time, go for a wee!
  12. Congrats BellaDonna, Sky is a gorgeous girl and she's lucky to have found such a good home.
  13. Haha, I spotted that too and was wondering. LOL He sure is a big boy, beautiful colouring and just darn cute.
  14. ooooooh, he's a cutie and sure is a chunky monkey at 9kg!! Yaaaaay Hoover cuddles!! Looking forward to updates. ;)
  15. Commiserations for keeping them quiet huh? Fingers crossed its not too traumatic. I'm hoping the lady from puppy pre-school is there. Max loved her. If she's there, all will be well. ETA: I'm still so stupid with the quoting.... Yep. Mars is pretty quiet inside, I will just have to put all the toys away or he'll attempt to play tug-o-war with Pepper. We have stairs in the house, so those will be blocked off... and we're currently living out of a room at the moment and Mars likes to jump on the bed to say hi and shove toys in our faces so no more of that too. Don't think I'll be leaving him in the backyard by himself because he'll try to play soccer.. or maybe I'm just worrying too much! *rips hair out* Hope the puppy pre-school lady is there for Max!
  16. That is so sad... Don't really have any words for it.. just so upsetting.. Mars is also getting the snip on Friday.. we've put it off so many times but this time he'll definitely be going, no more excuses!
  17. We took Mars to our Vet's "puppy school" when he was 12 weeks old, he started actual obedience classes at the club when he was 6 months old. When he first arrived at 8 weeks we were teaching him to 'sit' and 'wait', mainly during meal times. Then he was taught 'stay', 'drop' and 'shake'. Thats all I knew at the time so couldn't really teach any more... Any photos...? Mine aren't big fans of playing in water, they really need someone else to show them how. Both tolerate stepping in water, but don't find it very exciting.
  18. We have our fingers, toes and dog paws crossed for you Wizzle.
  19. But thats like the best part of the video That Kong ball squeaker sure is.... loud.
  20. I shall have to investigate, we have Bob-a-lot which is similar.. but different colour/styles of treat dispensers to keep the kids entertained is a must!
  21. I don't need another dog, I don't need another dog.......! Oh... I want Ike cuddles...!
