Yep - only one mob I know have ever sent out stuff. And even then, not always. Only two out of three occasions. Then, on the last one, they could not even get the order right. It was treated as a "donation" and a receipt sent for that. They were not even going to send the goods until I rang up. Then they sent a wrong item. They are history now. I stubbornly refuse to deal with ANY telemarketers. Even tho many "charitable" people try to tell me they are not telemarketers because they are a "charity". I tell those ones that since they have interfered with our dinner (or the preparation thereof), stopped a family conversation and are trying to sell me something I don't want, they are a telemarketer, no matter who gets the profit from the exercise.

Bitches, Rural Properties And Getting Out
noisymina replied to JulesP's topic in General Dog Discussion
We use normal fencing wire, run through insulators. It conducts well and does not stretch and deteriorate like the othert stuff does. One top and bottom of the mesh fencing. Our enegiser has two settings. Neither is harmful, let alone fatal. Yes - it will zap. That is what it is meant to do. But it is transformed and certainly does not run at mains voltage nor does it cycle. After watching a Rotty wriggle through (wriggle, wriggle, yelp, wriggle wriggle, yelp) while it was on the low setting, we moved up to the higher one. You can bet I have not been a fan of Rotty inteligence since that day! Even the Wei respected it at the lower setting. There are rules about signage etc, but otherwise it is usually allowed in rural, semi-rural, rural-residential areas. Check with your council if you are not sure. -
Bitches, Rural Properties And Getting Out

Electric fencing. That was the only way to keep our Wei in. She would do the same thing - get out and not know how to get back. Idiot. -
Can we see a photo of Moon, pretty please?

The Rural Fire Brigade (or some company raising funds for them) calls here and my silly DH actually gives them his credit card deatils. Fortunately they do seem legit and we do get tickets. Never won anyuthing tho. But I am really freaked out becuase he just doesn't seem to "get it" that it could be anybody on the phone asking for his details. Sure they do ask for him by name, but ANYBODY could do that. I had a call just a couple of days ago from some children's cancer research mob wanting to sell raflle tickets too. So it seems that is the latset fund raising fad out there. Maybe the same company doing it for all of them for all we know. And maiking a nice commission out of our "donations" no doubt.

Blood On The Floor But None Of The Dogs Are Injured?
noisymina replied to indigirl's topic in General Dog Discussion
You'd be surprised where you find leeches. I've even found baby ones in our shower and wandering around the sullage tank. No idea where they came from. One could well have had a ride back, had a good suck in the meantime, and dropped off on the floor. -
Mine gets her Sasha'a Blend sprinkeld on her toast and vegemite. :D

This Is Really Weird, I Have No Idea What Is Going On?
noisymina replied to MrsD's topic in General Dog Discussion
Well, I got one of her soft mats ( the top one - she was sleeping on two inside for comfort) and put it out on the raised bed. Now if the MAT was the problem, she would not have jumped right up on it and stayed there, right? But she did. No coaxing would bring her in. So after about 3 hours out in the cold and a good run and bark at the next door dogs, I called her in, opened the door and showed her new mattress, new towel on top, new spot. She waltzed right in, flopped down and settled for the night. :D I am not even going to try to put her extra balnket on top like I have for fear that might have been an issue. Who knows? -

Thanks Golden. She has slight incontinenece, so I'm not sure a hated bed would be a good idea. Besides - no power point out there. I'll see how she goes. I can make heat wheat packs if need be, so that might be an option. Once she gets really cold, she might change her mind. -

Guess what? Mine's taken fright of HER bed tonight. And we have not even been away. The last few weeks she has been sleeping inside. She appears to have been loving it. She's getting older nad has a bit of arthritis and we decided to retire her from night guarding duties becasue of that and keep her a bit warmer (she does have coats etc anyway). But now she is back outside. By choice. The very same mat she was freaking out about is on the raise bed outside. She is on it out there and quite clearly has no intention of coming back in. I feel for her. It's bloody cold out there - even tho she is sheltered and coated. But what can I do? -
Yep - they do not like the rain.

Well he wasn't. Those were just love bites he was giving that chair!

Laps Around Kitchen At Dinner Time
noisymina replied to poochiemama's topic in General Dog Discussion
Kaisie laps the kitchen/family room. She usually waits patiently before the morning feed, but afternoons she will lap as soon as she thinks dinner is on the way. If dinner is running late, she lets us know all about it! Lapping the room, targetting chairs, "talking" to to DH (who does the night feed) and if that does not work, she comes to me and literally tells on him for not feeding her. If we move the funiture around, she thinks for a bit and works out a new route. Doesn't stop her for long. If she thinks she's getting an outing in the car, she laps. And laps. As soon as the collar and lead appear, she walks straight into it. -
Ah Jaquie - as soon as you said Dobermann. I knew what you meant! Nobody could know how sad my girl was when she "killed" her first squeaky toy! She was so distressed I went out specailly to get her a new one. I felt so bad for her! That second one was about 5 years old! She never "killed" her squeak again! It was dying from old age and I just recently got out the other one I had put away. She is really happy to have a new, revitalised squeak! Yoiu can just tell by the way she plays. :D She was also very "sorry" the day she came roaring around a corner and knocked me flying. She has not done that again either. She quite clearly learned to look around corners first! So did I actually. And that wasn't because I go mad at her. Never really have needed to get mad with her. She tries so hard to be good. She's a big wuss and has some "issues" re confidence etc but naughty she is not.

Clearly some sort of anxiety thing, then.

Kaisie goes around targetting things when she is excited, usually the plastic kitchen chairs. But she alwasys gets a bit of a fright when they actuaslly move and make a noise when she does it. She will nudge the cat to say hello and she was nudging my Grand-daughter yesterdy and play bowing to her again. All excitement. When you said "sterotype" I assumed you meant their attitude to certain people or other dogs. You can be sure that any male in is teens or early 20's will not get to first base with her. Something from her past, I think. Hackles up, barking at them and won't go near them. This in spite of the fact we have two of our own that she is just fine with.

It was $15 PLUS postage, which meant they were listed @ $22 whenI ordered and paid for my one. If you ordered more than one and were only chraged $20, I assume that would be because of the multiple order = less postage per item. Of course the price MAY have chnaged since I was there, which means I've paid a whole $2 too much. ;) Just joking.

There is probably already quite a lot of tryptophan in her diet (especially the egg), she might just need the carbs to make use of what is already there. Thank you!

It will be about a week before my GG arrives, But I decided to start changing her morning feed anyway in preparation - and as she does need a bit of extra food at the moment. So Fri morning it was the egg, oats and her normal Sacha's blend and meds + a little dry kibble. Sat I realise I DID have Olive oil in the cupboard and added that. Then I managed to get the Brewer;s Yeast and some Calcium Ascorbate (came across info that it might help the incontinence thing) And Sun she had the fuyll Monty except for the GG. :D She seem happier already. Maybe she doesn't need GG?
