  1. It looks like Flute has pegged it at her from extreme close range
  2. Classic! The girls look like they had the best time I agree with MrLC, I love those two photos too!
  3. There are lots of foxes in and around the ACT. There are at least two dead on the side of the road between my place and Canberra. There's lots of shelter, abundant water (especially along the Murrumbidgee) and lots of rabbits to feast on. There's also the occasional suburbanite who'll feed them... edit: sorry ellz, I meant to comment on your OP too! It would be really interesting to get feedback from the guy and see if they caught your fox!
  4. I think either whippet or greyhound would fit your requirements and make a wonderful addition to your family. I have two greyhounds and just adore the breed. They are so elegant, yet so goofy!* They curl up into tiny spaces, and stretch out to take up a whole queen size bed They aren't a dog that you feel is always underfoot. They are happy just to spend time with you, as opposed to demanding that you throw the ball for them constantly (not that there's anything wrong with that!). They are quiet and clean, and LOVE attention but don't demand it. My older boy spends most days inside the house sleeping on the lounge while we're at work. He prefers his home comfort, whereas our young girl enjoys pottering around the yard all day. Go meet some, you won't regret it - even if you decide on getting a different breed *I have a video of goofy if you want to see it

  8. Wow, that sounds excellent julz!
  9. They sound great! Thanks for that  And no, it's not too far out at all!
  10. That's great to know, thanks Clyde
  11. A small step should be ok, Rysup
  12. I'm looking for recommendations for Sydney vets and vet surgeries that meet some specific (but one would hope not entirely unusual) criteria... preferably Western Sydney, but please let me know about other areas too  The kind of vet I'm looking for: *is welcoming to owners with disabilities: *has wheelchair access; *allows clients to make extended appointments so that owners with communication difficulties have the time to ask questions and express any concerns without feeling rushed and flustered; and *preferably accepts pet insurance. I know DOL has many members in the vet, vet nurse and associated professions... I'm hoping someone can give a good recommendation. Or is there a vet peak body I can go to, to ask if any of their members fit the bill? Many thanks
  13. Jed, your grief is shared by us all. All over the country, all over the world. Thinking of you often

    Leo

Oh Greytmate, I'm so very sorry for your loss. What a beautiful boy Leo was. Our magnificent hounds leave such a hole in our lives when they leave us, don't they. Thinking of you Rest in peace, Leo
  15. ...check myself into the loony bin! It's funny, but it's also kinda sad. eta: and scary - the advert says it's for CATS too! :p
  16. MrLC suggests massaging olive oil into the pads - work it in really well on and around the glue sites. Keep massaging for quite a while, to allow the olive oil to (hopefully!) work it's way in between the glue and skin.
  17. Kinda alude to it? It's the whole skit! *falls off chair laughing* Thank you sooo much for this thread, I really needed a good belly laugh!
  18. Crap. That counts me out From memory, I believe there is a nice boarding facility in Wagga Wagga, although it wouldn't be ideal for a non-dog friendly or a preggers girl. eta: ohh, fingers crossed Trish!
