  1. bloody stock chasing and or killing dogs should be shot with their idiot owners next in line. thankfully there is basically zero tolerance for that shit here and the land holders shoot first ask later.
  2. nothing at all wrong with your dog!! she looks fantastic, fit and spritely!! its great to see dogs with a waistline!
  3. Choppa, I am so so sorry. But she was given wings, knowing that she was loved. You cannot do more than that. Rest in peace little one
  4. I dont know if this will help, but I used to just take it really slowly at first, and get the dogs pads used to it. I used to horse ride on tar and gravel roads and i just took it slowly so he didnt bruise (I dont know if they do or not, horses do so I just treated them the same) until he was tough barefooted. and used paw paw ointment on any little cracks. He toughened up in no time. Good luck.
  5. hmmmm this sorta sounds a bit serious. if Ide known about this earlier, I sure as hell woulda taken him as soon as I got him to the vets. All right I'll take him and have a yarn top the vet shortly. thankyou so much guys. Paws up!
  6. hehe, glad my nutters arnt the only nutters. dozer and littlepuss( i know, not a very creative name for a cat) are both babies who do the whole fighting, biting, wrestling trying to kill eachother thing. sometimes putting the hose on them works. littlepuss attacks dozer while he is asleep and thinks she is funny, dozer sits on littlepuss and pretends he isnt, they chase eachother around the yard and generally carry on like twits. I believe they do grow out of it, as my other cat middy, and my old dog sam used to fight like that for years and it became a game. the kittens do learn to get away and i just taught my dog that when i told her to get out of it, she would. having said that sam did think it was funny to carry the cat around by the head or whatever until puss decided to be nice. goodluck with your feral babies. you just gotta love them!!
  7. Dozer is(we think) dane/pointer/cattle. Is it a drama to get them removed? as in is it expensive and do they grow back? I think Dozer would remove the bandages if I put them on him. thanks guys for the input so far, Im thimking a trip to the vet is in order
  8. I was just wondering, does any one out there have problems with their dogs dew claws. All of my dogs previously have torn them out or split them or done some sort of damage to them. I have a 5 month old pup and like the rest he will be a hunting dog, as well as a weekend adventurer climbing through scrub and such, and Im starting to think I should save myself the hassle and just get them removed rather than risk him doing injury to them. Thoughts anyone?
  9. I found that when my mutts went on tablet strike I could coax them if I coated the tablet in promite. Suddenly the tablets were great. I never did smear it up the fridge in the hope that they would lick it off.thats brilliant!

    Siberian Husky

excuse my ignorance but why cant a siberian husky and a maltese be left together to play. I personally would be mortified if my dogs (and i own hunting dogs) couldnt be trusted to play with little dogs or any other dogs or cats or whatever. I found that if I was consistant with my boisterous puppies and taught them to be gentle than I never had a problem. rousing on them and time out is enough for my dogs. Its all a learning process for them and its just some puppies who like to feral a bit with their 'mates' who dont always appreciate the attention.
