  8. Hi all thanks for reading. before I start please let me say this pup is not mine i am trying to help this lady and her family who are very upset about it all and the lady in question is young and didnt know better.also i understand that some will say why by a cross breed but please if you can help it would be appreciated greatly. ok a lady ive been talking to in the last couple of days buoght herself a sharpei x staffy pup not knowing anything better until this event that you should research before you buy. anyway long story sort of cut short she paid for the pup was told where to pick it up from, arrived at the huse the people went into another room and bruoght the pup out to her she took the pup not noticing anything wrong until she got home. the pup had two lumps under its belly and when she tried to walk she was limping on her front let. the next day she took the pup to the vets and the vet informed her that the lumps where hernias both able to be operated on but the leg was bowed badly. the lady contacted the people she buoght the pup from telling them what was wrong and they had a go at her telling her not to harrass them. she rang the rspca and the local police but was told they could not do anything as it was a civil matter. anyway they have been told it will cost with desexing $700 dollars now of course this girl cannot afford this with a young child and all . she knew that in the pups life there would be costs but was not expecting them striaght away. she did not recieve a reciept or vacc cert .she received nothing but a slam in the door. i do have photos of the pup as i asked her if i could copy and paste for anyone that might be interseted in helping this young pup and her family out. i have also told her to go to the fiar trade which i hope they can help her. can anyone please advice whatelse the young girl can do to help zena is there any way anyone knows on how they can riase the funds to help zena live a better life? thank you to anyone in advance for any info you may be able to give.

  11. hi marks no at feed time all dogs are seperated and are all made to sit and wiat till i tell them it is ok to eat.it is at the time of getting ready to seperate that it happens most of the dogs are very placid. all the dogs live together inside and outside and play out in the yard no probs.never any aggresion from any of them. its when it gets to the feeding hour as they have a routine and they all know when it is close to fee time as they can here us in the kitchen preparing it all for them, that is when he starts . but yes he is getting desexed next week I have him booked in for wednesday. thanks for the advice too. it shows me that im trying to do the right thing by him and the others but still having that outside advice helps hope all that makes sense
  12. I live in victoria and I have a booking with a trainer to try and help with him. as for packleader all the dogs even the dane know me as packleader it is when no one is in the yard and well you can sit in the back room or the yard 24-7. at the moment ive got it under control by putting him in a different area before, during and after meals .after the meals i am now waiting one hour before bringing him in with the other. so far so good. k9 force I agree with you trying to fix the problem with desexing and then rehoming is not a way to go. I have to fix his problems first then think about it . as he has alot of hates and not many likes. lol.
  13. hi I have a five year old male dane who is not desexed but soon to be how ever we are having troubles with him i got him as his last owner could not keep him as he had chased some sheep. when he arrived he seemed fine getting along with the other dogs and loving the kids about a month later he started getting all huffy with one of my males around meal times and would pick on him all the time when it was close to feed time and even after feed time even with no food in sight. he wasnt worried about my cat or the sheep in my paddock. anyway i sent him to his lat owner who then siad again he had to go due to sheep that was fine ia sent him to my brother who siad he was getting along fine with his two dogs and then three weeks later the same thing with the other male dog. so now i have him back and my dogs have now cracked the poops with me and are all picking on each other . ive never had this all my dogs males females pups and older dogs have always gotten along maybe a bithc here and there but nothing like this . ive tried alot of different ways to get this fellow to get along but now it is beyond me on what to do now. any advice would be great.

  15. hi I have a 12 month old lab who has a very nausty sore on her back upper leg after a possum bit her it got into the dogs yard last night and the dogs reacted by chasing it but not before it bit one of them and i was wondering if just soaking it in salt water and then putting benedin on it if that will be ok till a vet in my area opens if it is kept clean.

  20. Hi Could anyone tell me at what age do you stop taping ears on a giant schnauzer to help them from flying away. my girl is now 7 and a half months old and one ear is sitting really well but the other still wants to fold the wrong way. is there any way to do just one ear or do you have to do both?
  21. Hi Dimity I have three danes and I use a chair to put their bowls on so that they are at shoulder level when eating it is what I was told to do with the danes as they can have the same problem. as for wether it reduces the changes I cant say as we have been told that it manly happens if they run around heeps before or after drinking and sometimes eating. also with the raised bowls it helps the dogs swollow their food abit better as sometimes when they eat from ground level they get some food stuck in the back of the jowls and that can cuase them to choke. thats what ive been told and ive never had any problems with the raised bowls. hope that helps
  22. I have used coprice on my labs for 3 years now and it works great they put the weight on nicely and they dont get runny stools and their coats are really good. ive tried the cobber and it did nothing for my guys and one of them refused to eat it which says alot for a lab lol
