  1. ;) Sneaking out at night to water them.. :D ;)
  2. If any of you recieve Snooza updates they are currently calling for product testers and are only taking the first 10 who respond. It might already be too late but you never know. So if you're interested and you get mail from them check you email now. ;)
  3. No they are ready to eat - and very nice looking potatos ;) And truth be told the dogs left most of their potatos lying around in little chewed up bits LMAO not so much "eating" them as playing with them.
  4. Usually I post stuff here about Tango because I adopted him through NSW Dally rescue and stuff and a couple of people here are interested in him. But I have another dally named Pepper who really has taken the bulk of the responsiblity for dealing with the somewhat difficult Mr T since he arrived. She gets a bit sidelined I'm afraid! Now, my girl Pepper has the sweetest temperament you can imagine. She isn't cringey or timid but simply prefers not to get into arguments and tries to find amicable ways around things like licking the other dogs face, cuddling into the other dog, throwing a toy at them and/or assuming the "lets play" position. All of these and other similar diplomatic ploys generally work a treat, even with some fairly grouchy dogs we've come across - tho she is very good at spotting the truly dog aggressive type and wont go near them. She is a delight and most people who meet her want to take her home. She's cuddly and joyful and energetic and has a natural knack for making people laugh. Anyway - enter Tango into our lives and he snarls at her when she tries to cuddle with him in bed, bites her face when she tries to kiss him, scares her when she does "let's play" so she hides behind me, barks at her and makes her give up her bed for him whenever he feels like it and generally acts like he's the boss and she's a big fat whimp. WELLLLLLLLLLLLLL....... Today I was outside raking up grass clippings (why can't I train the dogs to do that ) and Tango was busy fruitlessly hunting for gourmet dog food in the veggie patch. I had vaguely noticed Pepper spending a lot of time at the edge of the driveway but it wasn't until I'd finished raking and went over there that I discovered what she'd been doing. It seems there are potatos growing under all the rocks and grass etc along the driveway (who knew!!??) and she had dug down and pulled them all out. HAHAHAHAHA She had them in a sort of longish pile and was looking at me with a very satisfied "Aren't I clever" look on her face. Then she carefully sorted through them, found a good medium sized one and started eating it. Now normally when Pepper has something Tango wants he will simply walk toward her and pounce a bit, maybe bark or something - and she'll drop it and let him have whatever it was. I once even saw him bite her on the bottom (and make her squeal) to make her let go of a toy he wanted!!!! So, anyway, back to the potato farmer happily showing me her crop of taties. Suddenly ..... here comes trouble. ;) Tango saunters arrogantly over to see what Peppers got and as he got within snatching distance - she GROWLED AT HIM and hunched over the pile of potatos. ;) It wasnt a very vicious growl but it was a surprise to me and to Tango. So Tango stops dead, looks a bit befuddled and then very meekly walks a safe distance away and looks miserably at Pepper who is gleefully and noisily scoffing her potato. So I took one and gave it to him (for being good). He carried it away to the other side of the garden to eat it. Finally, Pepper finished her potato and I took the rest inside for me to have later!! SO! It looks like Ms Pepper simply chooses her battles well and is allowing him to bully her. He clearly has no real aggression or follow through and she probably knew that from the start - but she prefers to let him have his way (ie the favoured bed) than fight him over it. What a girl! :D
  5. Thanks terra nik What a smoochy fella he is
  6. If you go to this page you can see a pic of stanley when he was successfully adopted out in May this year. What a lovely success story Stanley - scroll down to find him
  7. Where are you, I know how to get on to a stockist as she supplies a friends shop. Shes great and delivers almost next day if it is ordered. I am near Ballarat and keen to get a bag to try ASAP. I dont have any days off work to make a trip to Melbourne in the near future. Interested in the small breed adult formula... Will try the small bag first of course, and if my cavs like it ill get a bigger bag... You can get a free sample: Artemis sample
  8. People could learn a lot from that orangutan
  9. HAHAHAHAHA That is the BESSTTT!!!! It brought tears to my eyes. Oh I'm really going to have to link to that on my website - thank you for sharing it What gorgeous animals - all of them. I just love the orangutan making the dog take the food from his mouth. Too funny - oh and being "dragged" along and rolling while holding the lead. Hilarious!
  10. Did I read in here somewhere that vetnpetdirect have a special coupon for discounted products this month??? That might help. I also thought I read that Pernaease and Sasha's Blend were the same product or similar or sommat. It gets very confusing.
  11. This is kind of hilarious but serious too - the dog could have been hurt or killed. What's the deal with all these stories of dogs being "lost" etc at airports. It's enough to put you off sending them on a plane
  12. Awwww the poor guy! What a sweetheart. I would be terrified about what's happened to her if I was him. I really hope he finds her..... that's heart-breaking.
  13. That is so tragic - I really wish I hadn't read about it That poor poor lovely man - so unnecessary
  14. These are not "religious doctrines" - they are simply the result of a dictatorship making [secular] laws telling people how to live their lives - and specifically trying to stop them being too much like those evil Americans etc - and using "religion" as a device to make them comply. This way they can blame it on Allah and hope no-one notices it's just a stupid revenue-raising petty fascist law. Religious doctrines don't just spring up overnight just because some bloke said so - even in Muslim countries
  15. LOL Good point luvmycav - but .... er ... don't think her friends living room would be big enough??? Perhaps we could make a lounge room for Jed It will need to be very VERY large to accomodate all of us plus our various furry friends!!! Not to mention the food cart and the karaoke machine! Oooh can we have a cocktail bar????
  16. Ahhhh this afternoon I finally got connected to BROADBAND -what a difference from dialup!! So I got to watch you on the news story video. Mate - you really are a remarkable woman. I got tears in my eyes watching you speak and knowing the losses you've suffered as well as what's happened to you as a result of this fire. I can't imagine the stress you're under but you came across so composed and "matter-of-fact". I think you're terrific. So very sorry about all your beautiful babies but you saved some and tried so hard for the others - and that's so very important - as you said.
  17. Ah yes, Kivi does this. He especially does it when I've just turned the light off and am trying to negotiate through a dark kitchen. Inevitably I walk into Kivi, who has taken a step or two or three and then randomly parked himself. Yesterday I trod on both his front paws because he was sprawled across the kitchen floor while I was cooking breakfast. If I step on Erik I'm like "Yeah, you'll live." but if I step on Kivi he cries and looks hurt and I feel like I've beaten up a disabled child. I nearly fell down the stairs one day trying to avoid making Kivi cry. awwwwwwwww!!!!
  18. :D One of life's great mysteries hahahaha
  19. bwahahahaha dogs are so funny. I have the same problem kirty. I don't know how many times I've nearly gone head over heels down the concrete ramp bit out the back!!! And I ditched my "flip flop" style slippers because I got so sick of them standing on the backs of them while I was walking. LMAO I also get them standing still right in front of me, with their backs toward me, for no apparent reason. They'll be trotting along behind and/or beside me and then one of them gets in front and suddenly stands stock still. Usually in a narrow spot where I can't get past. I also think any time I say "Move out the way" they hear "Stand right there in front of me and if I move to the left you move that way too so you're still in my way".
  20. I agree with poodlefan - try and resolve it in a friendly way first. THe other advice here is good but can be put aside as a backup plan.
  21. Sorry to hear this happened. I know how awful it can be. If you need to cry you go right ahead. Like someone said, try to stay calm and "normal" around the puppy but otherwise go ahead and bawl I reckon. Definitely get pics and report it.
  22. Oh Jed, what a beautiful little dog. And a beautiful little soul. I'm so sorry......
