  1. jaeger - I always know because they start "scooting" along the carpet and I know it isn't worms LOL I have one dog that gets it sometimes, despite eating a great mostly raw diet with bones etc. It's never been a huge problem becuase it's not often - but I've always wondered why. Food allergies is an interesing thought. SHe did it a lot after my other dog died and she was alone. Wonder if stress can cause it.

    Harness

Yes they can be a good tool for training, but as aussielover said - make sure it's the front attaching one not the usual harness that has the clip on the back. The ones with the back attachment just tend to make them pull more.
  3. Oh I'm happy to read I'm not the only one. I too have been puzzled when I read about people who "express" as a part of grooming. I've only had to do it when it's clear there's a problem. Otherwise I leave well enough alone.
  4. I sent an email altho it's past the date they had for making a decision. I forgot to mention that apart from cruelty to both the coyote/fox and the dogs involved etc the very practice of transporting the coyote/fox to 'somewhere else' is spreading soil borne diseases. It's one of the most pointless stupid disgusting things I've come across.
  5. PS Your title confused me - by 'OCD' did you mean Obsessive Compulsive Disorder?? Are you saying you think your dog has that?
  6. Dogs can see colour but are 'colour blind' because their vision of colours is more limited than humans. Wikianswers reckons that dogs have two different color receptors in their eyes and therefore are dichromats. One color receptor peaks at the blue-violet range, the other at the yellow-green range. Dogs are green-blind which is one form of red-green color blindness also called deuteranopia. Orange, yellow and green look all the same to a dog and BLUE- GREEN is seen as WHITE. 7. Hi Kirty - I don't know about claws LOL I certainly haven't found any hee hee But my concern was offal - ie kidney and liver - which my dog tango MUST not have in any significant amounts. People who visited the factory confirmed that they definitely didn't put offal in the tinned food so I hope that's always the case.
  8. Hey Golden Rules - I saw the NG kibble for the first time in our local Woolies yesterday and thought I'd give it a go. I was surprised because it's soft and a bit moist which makes me feel better about using it as treats for Tango (given his stone-forming thing he shouldn't eat "dry" food). It looks like good stuff and my two seem to love it.
  9. THem dogs fling slingers everywhere I heard I cant find her at that link
  10. ahahahahaha That's the stuff! Tango's is exactly like that. They must order it from the same place
  11. Good grief. What kind of cowardly psychos are they? I hope they find them soon and throw away the damn key! Poor little puppy...
  12. To put people's minds at rest I did check with the vet when I was there today - just in case - but she said they're both fine Also - if it EVER stops raining here - I'll go out and see if I can find if there's any more hidden in the garden and just make sure they're all good. The ones Pepper got were buried quite deep - which is why I was so surprised she'd done it
  13. Hi GayleK - Yep thanks for that - I throw out green ones :D MM - Cor, a day for the girls is right. BTW - You might understand why I'm a bit excited by the following little snippet. I saw something super wonderful today (for us anyway). I took the dogs to the "big town" for Tango's vet appointment and it's raining cats and dogs out there so we all ended up extremely wet by the end of the day. On the way home I glanced in the rear vision mirror and saw Tango gently licking Pepper's ears and neck!! It looked like he was trying to dry her off. That is the most affectionate I've seen him be towards anyone (he's not at all a licky dog) - but especially Pepper. I mean he used to yap and snap at her in the car if she got too close to him! And she was just sitting there looking happily out the window while he was cleaning her up. I kept glancing back and he kept it up for about 5 - 10 minutes. I didn't think I'd ever see them being that close. They still don't share beds etc and there's wariness between them but that was fantastic to see :D
  14. LOL I know that one. I also find Tango "strings" attached to my clothes at times Bleugggghh!! Years ago when Pepper first frothed I thought she'd swallowed poison or something LOL It looked like she had rabies :D
  15. Would those be big enough for a dalmatian d'ya think? (I mean the soft x-large from Crazy sales)
  16. My boy gets long disgusting strands of drool when he's waiting for his food - I've never had a dalmatian that drools before LOL I figure it's because he's never had anything but rice and carrot b4 for 8 years so I can't blame him for getting overly excited at what I make for him LMAO My girl froths at the mouth - but not around food. WHen she's out walking. Again - NOT a normal dally thing as far as I know LOL Great photo BTW
  17. Hi Crazycresties I feed the chicken and rice/chicken and oats to my dalmatians and I think it's good stuff. I buy it because one of mine has a health issue and I'm limited in what I can feed him - usually I feed raw to my dogs but I can't with him - or not to the same extent. So while my girl gets a raw diet he gets the natures gift, a little raw and some other stuff. I asked about NG here as well and someone told me they went to the factory and saw it being made and were impressed at how natural etc it all was. It really is just chicken meat (no offal) and veggies and rice or oats. I can't speak for any other varieties tho. I also contacted them to ask questions about their product and found them very helpful. It's the only canned food I will use and I always had a can or two of this on stand by for emergencies even before I got the dally with the health issue So in your emergency I think it will do and is certainly better than Pal et al or dry food.
  18. I havent had a response. Guess they got sick of replying LOL
  19. Good grief! I didn't know about the Amish and puppy farming!! Let alone the EP connection! BUT from a quick google search it looks as tho the chicken used in EP is from a certified Amish poultry farm. I'm not sure that should be a reason to boycott the product - if you look at it from one perspective - it's better to help them earn money from certified poultry farming and hopefully discourage them from doing the same via puppy farms. link to info It's a difficult call tho - it's really stopped me in my tracks re EP.
  20. Yep, looks good to me and Joey certainly seems to like it. Dont worry - I didnt see anything rude in what you wrote :D
  21. Gulp! They might have to wait while I save up for that Hmmm okay - maybe they should say "Just a little teensy bit water repellant... maybe" :D
  22. Oooh that looks NICE. And big enough for my dogs! Where did you get it - and I bet it cost a wee bit :D To be fair it does say "water repellant" which is different to "water proof". Water repellant really only means if you spill wet stuff on it the liquid is likely to run off it rather than soak in. Definitely looks to good to leave out in the rain
  23. I dont have any advice but I'm sending you hugs and well wishes for the furry ones ;)
