  1. Well unless he is working at two clinics he is not at Racecourse Road He is actually working at Monash Vet Clinic (and yes this is a recent sighting - he was there last week) 9544 7455
  2. Harris Scarfe actually have more sizes than stated on the Berlei page, I had a look today and they had some 18E's
  3. Peroxide from the supermarket (not the hairdressers)3% strength in the brown plastic bottle. 1 teaspoon for a 5kg dog given by mouth.
  4. If the dog has crystals in its urine it is on the Science diet to keep its urine at a specific pH. This may be alkaline OR acidic depending on the composition of the crystals in question. She should not be changing the diet without consulting with her vet as even just feeding treats can disrupt the pH levels with the consequence of the crystals turning to stones and blocking the urethra
  5. I apologise if I have offended you or anyone else. If I had thought I was upsetting anyone, I would not have posted. Don't apologise - thanks for posting, now your saving me $30 and I get a bag and grommets into the bargain
  6. Limited slip collar (or half slip, black dog make a nice one, they call them training collars) the head harness is a no no on bulldogs and chest harness only teaches them to pull.
  7. Yeah, I get the same. FYI Huga - the frenchie is not a natural bob tail, the shortened tail is as a result of deformed vertebrae (either block or hemi) in the tail section. You can't have a natural bob in a breed where a full length tail is not considered the norm.
  8. Erm... Why would a washing machine smell of urine??? taken from Ebay sellers page Urine smells and stains - Half a cup of BA in with your wash to rid clothing/bedding of urine smells and stains
  9. Had a look at that Ebay page - do not take his advice and put it in the washing machine to get rid of urine smells - It will destroy the rubber hoses.
  10. Is this the same thing? I couldn't tell because it said Boric and not Boracic, but it's what came up when I typed in Boracic, so I thought it might be the same thing?? It is the same thing but it may not be fine enough for your purpose. You are also better off purchasing from Australia as customs is highly likely to seize any fine white powder in parcels ;)
  11. The are obtained by picking them up off the ground once a year when the deer shed them in preparation for growing a new set.
  12. a dog that is in development is the aussie bulldog, australia's answer to the british bulldog. i think they are 10 years into getting them recognised by the ANKC. they are completely opposite to the BB, one of my friends has 2 and they are beautiful dogs. i am hoping they get recognised as a breed as there is 2 clubs working towards this now. I suppose you believe in Father Xmas as well. I have no respect for anyone that lies to registed breeders in order to obtain a pup purely for the purpose of crossing it to another breed and "supposedly" creating something better. Put the shoe on the other foot - how would you feel if someone took a breed that you bred and used it to produce crosses and yes the aussie people are still using pure British to cross with. They are not Australia's answer to the British Bulldog and they are not healthy or better suited to our climate than a well bred British,do your homework before making such outlandish statements.
  13. Where can you buy deer antlers? I ordered them here: http://www.deerfarm.com.au/ Thanks! I will look into that! I hope my dogs find them appealing as there seems to be no meat on them. But one can only try Hehe, no, there is no meat on them, they are antlers. But they do have a darker substance in the middle (I guess some type of marrow), which must be appealing. My boy loves his, and I love the fact I can give it to him inside the house and it doesn't smell or make a mess. Plus he's had it for about 2 weeks now and it's still almost the same size it was at the beginning, even though he's spent hours chewing it. Definitely worth a shot, and if your dogs don't like them, you might be able to give them to a friend with dogs. Sounds like marrow - is it smelly? Then they will probably like it ;) Good to have something to give them inside, especially now in winter! Hehe, good plan - give it to a friend with dogs! I have done that before with roo tail bones, now she has to buy them on a regular basis, her dogs just love them! It is not marrow - it is the renmants of velvet. When the antler is a living growing thing covered in a soft fuzz the inside is a blood rich honeycomb full of amino acids. As the antler ages it slowly calcifies and hardens with the outer layer becoming white and bone like and the inner layer turning into a solid honeycomb, the hardness of which is dependant on whether the antler was shed or cut off. The term "velvet" refers to inner layer not the fuzzy outer layer.
  14. The lethal dose of caffeine for dogs and cats is 150mg/kg body weight, and regular instant coffee contains approx 60mg caffeine per teaspoon, a 10kg dog would have to ingest approximately 25 teaspoons of coffee to recieve this dose.
  15. I have a very good friend who butchers her own cows - even she won't give it up !! Hey that stuffs worth more than gold
  16. no but it stinks something shocking. Green tripe is the cows stomach - just washed in plain water, the dogs love it but I would say many owners would be put off by the smell alone It is against Primesafe regulations for an abbatoir to sell it to the public in Victoria. I can't speak for any other state. You may be able to get it from a Knackery but I can't see the Knackey staff being too willing to seperate it out from the rest of the intestines and empty it of its contents.
  17. *stix up hand* artemis is a good product and both my dogs enjoyed it and did well on it BUT i hated the crumbing in the bottom of the bag and for the cost, i kinda felt cheated in some small way because of that --- stroke one for black hawk: NO CRUMBING and it doesn't hit nearly as hard in the hip pocket... You have to show us pics as we need proof Especially for you Clyde ;) O M G i would die!!! what a great photo of gorgeous dogs my wonderful bunch of time wasters - believe me I dread the day they will start to leave - love each and every one of them!
  18. LOL they are even better in real life, have to be cuddled to be believed, my recipe is - take one gorgeous mum, find her an amazing husband and add a good measure of Black Hawk. Even my vet kept saying "but they are all so nice" There are many more photos on facebook if you are on there :D

  20. Have just weaned a litter of pups straight onto black hawk adult with excellent results.
  21. Oh that is no good! QLD would have a six month suspension for that behaviour! Bit hard to suspend a member of the public with their pet (not an exhibitor) Very hard :-) should the general public be bringing their dogs to the show? Rules up here state a dog must be entered to be on the grounds. Unless they have permission from the show manager. It is such a difficult situation - on one hand I have some of my pet owners bring along dogs I have bred - and they are well behaved and they bring along crates because they know what I expect, and on the other hand the out of control pet on a flexi lead with owners who have no idea what basic manners are - well that just drives me insane. But when the show is on public land what control do we have?

  23. Their Open and Championship shows are being held on the same day.
