  1. That is very sad. 9 is very young for a little dog. No, you are not alone and many of us will grieve with you and understand why you grieve. Deepest sympathies. You and Dulcie have been blessed to have each other.
  2. My underlining. I tried to read a bit of the link that given above, but it was just crazy. The woman is seriously nuts, I believe, and god knows what sort of day to day life the children have. When you learn you can’t trust what your parents says or what people close to you say, it is traumatising ---- even for adults.
  3. That is very good news. Let’s hope the Delicate Balance continues to agree with him and to keep the weight on.
  4. I was hugely surprised at the price. Something like $48 for 3 kilos. I expected something at least three times that much.
  5. I saw this on FB a week or so ago and it was truly sickening. My first thought was (and I think I posted so) that she should get a visit from the Child safety department - whatever it is called where she lives. If true, she is severely psychological damaged and is doing the same in an horrific way to her child.
  6. Ci, I just did a search on your other topics to get a bit of background and to see if I could ascertain where you lived. I gather you are in Melbourne, so can I suggest that you contact BM Animals? DOer Valbitz put me onto them and I seriously mean it that by doing so she saved Danny's life. My vet had no suggestions as to how to help DANNY, he was so sick, losing weight dramatically, I was trying every food known to man and dog until Valbitz sent me some samples of goodies from BM Animals. I contacted them and they put him on a regime of probiotics, green tripe, bovine powdered pancreas and he turned the corner almost immediately. Every time I have to see my vet for one reason or another, Imtake Danny along and vet just shakes his head in amazement. Good luck!,
  7. A DOLer suggested this to me when I was pretty desperate having tried just about every food imaginable to get my Danny to eat. I found it at Asquith Vets (Sydney) and they gave me a sample pack. SUCCESS.
  8. That’s wonderful. Should be more of it. I know it is an island and therefore somewhat different, in fact very different, from the mainland, but it just goes to show what can be done when there is a will. Our country (our world) needs more of this will.
  9. Canetoad, those photographs are amazing in the true sense of the word. I reckon you could sell them to a travel agency, even National Geographic. Absolutely stunning. And then there are the dogs . . . . . .
  10. They recover very quickly - LOL. And if they overdo it and feel a bit of pain, they learn very quickly too.
  11. I was going to say much the same. Thrilled for your Aunt and Betty. Just a thought: maybe you could have her clipped and groomed before the dental and desexing as you will need to wait approx 10 days before being able to bath her --- stitches and all that. Looking forward to see the two girls happy together
  12. I would have slapped his hand away. That’s stupid on so many counts. Such an imposition. It’s like people who think they can pat “baby bumps”.
  13. Poor darling. "Lease issues" - the dog is probably 10 times cleaner, nicer and loving than the owners of the property :mad I read it as they were renting and the home owner may not have wanted dogs (which they are entitled to)so they have surrendered her. If this is the case then that's what makes me angry. That’s what I mean, Hazy, and what makes me very angry as well. The owner of the property probably needs cleaning up, not the dog or the renters. Reminds me of the taxi drivers (and their taxies) who refused to carry dogs. It is a bit better today, but in the days when I was taking taxies regularly, they used to make me sick just to have to sit in them. (Off Topic sorry.)
  14. Stop grinding it up and just give it to her in a couple of little cut bits. Even a tiny tablet ground up makes a lot of powder to be disguised - almost impossible. I have discovered that my dogs love Cream Cheese and the tablets are just wolfed down.
  15. https://www.facebook.com/chihuahuarescueqld?fref=photo Scroll down a bit to see the mini Dachshunds rescued by this organisation. (I know you are only seeking information, but I am being sneaky :D )
  16. Poor darling. "Lease issues" - the dog is probably 10 times cleaner, nicer and loving than the owners of the property :mad
  17. Of course he is innocent.   He is a puppy
  18. LOL --- anything to prevent 4am activities.
  19. I read that with tears of relief in my eyes. Definitely thrilling news. Go Pudding
  20. Wishing Pudding all the best. Sounds as though she is in very good hands.
  21. What a shocking harrowing time for you and the doggies. You must be exhausted from the terrifying emotions. Hopefully you will all make a complete recovery.
  22. Huge changes are taking place in a person's body and mind in those years. I know as I am there myself (except for the fit part ). Lots of people fall off the twig between the ages of 65 and 75, people you would think would go on forever. I'd be sending him to the doctor. Don't forget there are huge numbers of assistance dogs now for people who suffer from all sorts of medical issues whereby the dogs senses if that person is going to have an episode.
