  1. Having had the pleasure of following your photographic journey with Jonah and Jesse, I am not surprised. Your photographs are truly beautiful and so evocative of the outback. Congratulations. Where can we get the calendars?
  2. Yes, it is very hard. You and Hazel obviously had a special special bond and her passing will leave a great gap in your life. Going to bed is often the worst time, because they have had their very own spot, and to reach out and they aren’t there ....... well, it just hammers home the loss. Deepest condolence, Lyn. You and Hazel shared so much love.
  3. Huh? Little Red Riding Hood morphed into Goldilocks and The Three Bears
  4. The little yellow one creeping in from next door must be hardy - my part of the garden is in complete shade. But the main part of the plant would be in sunshine from next door. Despite having a large back yard, my biggest problem is that very little of it gets much sun because of huge trees all around.
  5. Beautiful. The other day I noticed a flash of yellow at the back of one of my garden and, upon investigating, saw it was a yellow nasturtium creeping in from next door. Now on the garden shopping list LOL.
  6. Hey! Don’t knock it - 50% improvement   LOL at his little belly band  Danny has been really good and he performs on cue when I take him downstairs last thing at night. Good to know that Mac is so much steadier these days
  7. What she said ^ ^ ^ ^ ^^ ^ ^ ^ ^ LOL. Just back from walking my dogs in the off leash dog park where the only other person was a lady with the cutest 1 year old Westie called Cooper from Pennant Hills. Such interesting little dogs. (Caveat: I go to this park only at a time when I can be reasonably sure there won’t be other people there :( and, if there are, only if they have little dogs.)
  8. Deepest condolences, Kirty. We all hoped for the best.
  9. LOL, WM. It makes me a happy woman just to read your updates of Marvellous Mac
  10. I don’t think I could go through all the rigamarole, WM. I just get frustrated at knowing there is so much I don’t know. But really, for what I do, I don’t need to know it. :o
  11. That is the main thing. Just don’t think as an either or situation is the important part.
  12. LOL, Westimum. Danny does the same at the doggy door. He has to take a bit of a step to go through it so I was worrying that it was becoming too much for him; now that I can see Mac doing the same, I will take comfort in that it is something they do. A bit like us standing and staring out of a window, I suppose :D :D I wonder if you’ll ever get the hang of posting pix the right way up ? (I can’t talk With my new iMac, I am lucky to even find photographs let alone post them anywhere. :mad ) ETA: Yesterday while out walking two men rounded the corner of a lane I was in each with a little Westie. They were gorgeous and having such a good time. Tamar and Bunter were very well behaved and didn’t even bark. I’m seeing more and more Westies in the area. Such gorgeous little dogs
  13. When the wind is from the south, I will start sniffing to check.
  14. Danny = Green Tamar = Pink Jeune = Red Bunter = Green harness Blue lead (because I could get the harness I wanted in Blue LOL)
  15. Thank you all. He is very precious (as they all are). His coat is still very red, but shot through with white, his back legs are wobbly and he doesn't much like coming out on our walks anymore, but considering what he went through for months before we managed to get the medication mix and dosage right, he is remarkable. I was so cross with myself the other night. Every night before we settle down in bed, Danny "humps" Jeune which she mostlyignores, but the other night he started licking her all over her back. I quickly found my phone and started videoing it ....or so I thought I hadn't pressed the video button hard enough. He hasn't done it since. Hmmm - just saw him pee on the deck Bunter has always been (deliberately I am sure :D ) unwilling to tell the difference between the deck and downstairs and, of late, the temptation has been too great for Danny. Tamar has always been a naughty girl and happily pees where Bunter has been; the problem with her is that she is one of those strange dogs and stands up on her two front legs while peeing, so she leaves a trail of peeing about a metre long. Bunter just leaves little contained puddles because he has never lifted his legs. I would like to say that I have one normal dog in Jeune, but that would be stretching it more than a bit  She, however, would either hold on forever or go downstairs in a blizzard.
  16. I saw my precious little red man stepping gingerly through the doggy door and thought how wonderful he is to be making his wobbly and sight impaired way down the back yard to do his business. It is over a year since our journey started and there have been quite a few frights along the way. He has certainly aged, but then he is nearly 17!! Today I had to collect some meds from the vets so took him for the drive. I popped him on the scales and he is 200gram heavier since last weigh in so I did a bit of a dance around the waiting room   Again, I completely believe we would have not have made it this far and in good health for such an old boy had it not been for the input and suggestions of DOLers. No words will ever convey the depth of my thankfulness that I have had this forum to turn to.
  17. Yep - seems to be the case with these oldies. Up and down: deeply asleep one moment and then perky as a puppy.
  18. He is one helluva guy, that is for sure Love keeping up to date with him, Westiemum.
  19. Beautiful. Congratulations
  20. BSRA, your response to this thread and the comments made makes me very very happy for any rescue dog who finds his or her way to you.
  21. How cute are they all? Totally and absolutely.
  22. Yes, needed more options.  Gawd, maybe I do have a problem. Maybe I really am just too basic, and nuance just completely escapes me.  I went back to read the question again. I actually answered “no”, but looking at it again, I would say that I prefer the company of my dogs to the vast majority of the population. There are times when I would prefer to be with my dogs before anyone and there are times that I would like to have the company of people.
