  1. I am lucky enough to be reminded fairly regularly of this tender love story, because there is a man in the neighbourhood (don’t know where he lives) who walks two Westies. They always bring a smile to my face and make me think of WM and her family.
  2. A love story indeed, Westiemum. Such a precious soul was your Mac. He brought blessings by the score and received them in return.
  3. I know!! I feel the same. That's why I decided to just continue this thread and not start a new one for her. This thread has her whole life on it, and maybe even her puppies' who knows. Just make sure it doesn’t disappear when Troy does a cull of old threads. I know some of mine I’d love to be able to look back on have gone. I’ve never been able to work out how to download them to keep.
  4. WOW!! Beautiful photographs of beautiful dogs having beautiful lives.
  5. LOL. Hard to believe she is two. Congratulations. Wish I were 20 years younger; I would be putting in my application.
  6. I guess it depends on the pound. Notwithstanding that, it is very sad. Like having a baby in jail :( All the normal parts of life are missing.
  7. His personality and the love you have for him shine out from all your posts and photographs.
  8. Gillybob, I know not all dogs will or can tolerate the same things, but what I am convinced has kept Danny going is what I call his “Shake”. He doesn’t need it every day but when he first became sick and was losing heaps of weight, it was a life saver. Equal parts Bone Broth (google for recipe) and lactose free milk with a good squeeze of nutrigel. Some times, Danny would lap this up, but mostly I give it to him via syringe because if and when he eats can be very unpredictable. You can buy multiple use syringes on the internet. I bought several 10mls syringes from Priceline on-line. A couple of his meds are in tablet form and I have to keep changing the form of delivery: roast chicken, cream cheese, hard cheese, peanut butter .... they all eventually fall out of favour, but the latest is liver paste. So far he loves it. You might also consider having a chat with the couple who run BM Animals. DOLer Valbitz put me onto them and their foods really saved Danny’s life, I think, particularly chicken jerky - which he has now decided he doesn’t like . But for a while, that and his shake kept him going. Good luck.
  9. Beautiful. And they are up the right way
  10. There is SOS out at Londonderry. There is also Rescue Resource at Dural run by a woman who distributes to shelters all around the place. Deb Williams 0414 960 103
  11. This is happening where I live - obviously a big dog and it isn’t every day. I guess it is either a dog who is walked infrequently, or a dog who gets walked in different areas. What upsets me most is that all dog owners get a bad name. I feel particularly sorry for people who don’t have dogs and have to face, sometimes enormous, droppings on their footpaths. I quite often pick them up, actually. Yukkety yukk. :D
  12. Oh, he is just beautiful. What a lovely soft, soulful expression - I’ll bet he had you both well and truly wrapped around his precious paw. Yes, it is very very hard.
  13. Always remember the photograph of your mum’s (I think?) hands, persephone.
  14. What an achievement! But do you know what I love about this? You love your mum so much that you post a well deserved brag about her on the forum. Makes me have a little
  15. Deepest condolences, Rajah11. I am sure there are many of us who would love to see a photograph of your boy. Run free, Rajah. :
  16. Oh WOW!! What a gorgeous Moosey . Happy happy Gotcha Day and may you have many many cuddles for many many years.
  17. Beautiful as always and gorgeous collars and leads. Love the second pic down. Jesse seems to be saying: oh god, Jonah, he is taking more photos of us.
  18. That's the point, K. The farmer was having a bit of fun - it is a cute story. : : I think my dogs should qualify as working dogs, too. They work hard at lazing around the house
  19. LOL - I have enough dogs bedding to start a shelter.
  20. Yes, it is strange isn’t it. Because I rescued a few elderlies with lots of needs at one stage, when they went to god, the space left in my days was confusing. I’d find myself in the kitchen turning in circles thinking there must be something that needs done, only to realise that a little dog was not longer there. I think if you could get into their heads you would find that they do - not just for special diets and medications.
  21. Poor thing. I hope they find him before too long and either put him out of his misery or are able to treat him. Terrifying for those he attacked.
  22. No no no no - I am not going to click on that naughty naught link. :scold:
  23. He is on FB. Love him and his mum so much. I follow Canetoad on FB, Stan the man allows Maddie to appear on his FB page from time to time, and Gruf has the best mum, too. We owe a lot to the camera skills of the humans LOL. There have been so many over the years.
