What a clever, funny friend Thanks for the photographs is Mr Gorgeous-but-Taken.  -
Before using any product have the vet check his tear duct function. If there isn't anything wrong except a bit of irritation get Optrex liquid from the chemist, soak a cotton wool ball and wipe both eyes regularly for a few weeks. This cleans the eyes and reduces, at the very least, staining. In my experience with Maltese, the staining was completely eliminated on one dog and almost eliminated on another. I always have Optrex on hand just to give all the dogs' eyes an occasional wipe over and have never had dogs with staining since.

Deepest sympathies, Isabel. It is frightening, devastating and such an enormous event when we have to make the decision for our loved ones. Hugs to you. -

Little Red Man’S Roller Coaster Journey:

Thanks everyone. He is a totally special darling and I am his. Even though he doesn’t know where I am until I am right in front of him, when I come back from walking the others or just from being out, his tail goes at 100 miles an hour and sometimes he even jumps around like spring lamb. His favourite treat is dried liver and cuddles with him mum. -

We carry on in much the same way. Danny has good days and not so good days. During the not so good days, he throws up quite a bit, but funnily enough it doesn’t seem to worry him as these throws aren’t great heaving episodes that can be exhausting - rather he just squirts out whatever he wants and goes on his way. The vet took him off the Doxycycline as it wasn’t having the desired result regarding his coughing and he is now on a puffer . He is such a good boy and just lies in my arms while I hold the spacer over his nose and give him gentle massages. HOWEVER - BIG DAY TOMORROW !!!! DANNY TURNS 17!!! :birthday: :birthday: And here is the most gorgeous little red man in the whole world   -

Yes, it is time for Punpunya to cross the bridge. She will find many DOlers’ Dogs over there. Blessings to you both. -

No advice, but certainly my thoughts are of you and your girl and your little Westie. It will be tough, but think only of your dog (is she Isabel or is that you?) and yourself. When she is gone, hold her and cuddle her for as long as you want. Don’t let anyone hurry you. (And think of the practicalities: have a towel or a mattress protector under her.) Hugs to you all. -
Is This Normal Or Do I Have Puppy Prodigies?
Loving my Oldies replied to Kirislin's topic in General Dog Discussion
Oh for goodness sake!! How can you even ask. OF COURSE YOU AND NEKO HAVE PRODIGIES   -
What exciting news. Dogs feel happiness, sorrow, fear, loneliness, like all of us, but I wonder if they have a perception of what they are missing out on - that is, what people/we think they should be able to do? I have a very elderly dog who used to run and play and race around and enjoy his walks, but now, the best thing in the world for him is to join me on the LazyBoy and snooze a few hours away. I am pretty sure he isn’t lying there regretting the passing of his youth. I am very happy you have more time with your little dog. It is amazing what finding the right meds and mix of meds can do. I hope you continue to relate the journey of “Days with my Dobe”

What a sad world we live in when these sorts of feelings come to the fore. But we all do it to a greater or lesser degree and I, for one, can understand perfectly how you feel. I am so sad for your puppy and you; it is devastating to adopt a dog and find he/she has all sorts of health problems and the kindest most loving this we can do is to let them cross the Bridge. As Snook says, we are all different and if this other dog (Irish Setters....... swoon) feels right for you, go for it. The dog still needs a loving caring home despite what has gone before. Keep us posted. little doberman pup.

Loving my Oldies replied to julesluvscavs's topic in Rainbow Bridge
Deepest sympathies, Jules. Your beautiful dogs [family] have always been much loved and I am sure I speak for many when I say we loved hearing about them. Goodbye sweet Renae -
Good thinking. I had one dog who used to attack the head of the vacuum and others who were terrified and everything else in between. All reactions are normal for that particular dog. We just need to understand that and act accordingly for the benefit of the dog. Let us know how you go. Where are the photographs? An 8 week old darling called Pollyanna and you don’t post pictures  Shame on you
