  1. Ooooh no, that made me so nervous for the dogs - very close to the car at times although I know you were just crawling. That said, I think Jonah must have the best life a Shar Pei ever had.
  2. So beautiful. Such a huge loss. Deepest sympathies.
  3. Looks stressed out to me LOL. Nothing better than seeing a new arrival just know they are home and safe.
  4. Yes, she is beautiful isn't she DDD. She's already done 6 specialty shows, winning 4 class in show and coming 2nd in the other two. Very proud of her. Oh isn't that great!! Congratulations!
  5. Such a beautiful tribute to your beloved Jindi - and a tribute to you, Isabel for the love and care you gave her in full. Farewell Jindi. You were totally loved and will be totally missed.
  6. Just gorgeous. Little Story has the sweetest face, I think. “Will you still love me tomorrow?”
  7. He’s a knockout. Congratulations to you both for finding each other
  8. Yep, that’s the way it is but the goes on too.
  9. Good news. Hopefully she will stay this way for a long time yet.
  10. No ideas to help, I'm sorry. Just to commiserate and know how difficult it can be
  11. I would be asking for a refund along with telling them, of course, how their inappropriate dosing nearly killed your dog. And, I think you should write to the AVA as well. People make mistakes of course, but overdosing to that extent is not just a mistake.
  12. OMG I am in tears reading this. I was too frightened to come on but had to know what was happening. Poor Mya, what an awful time she and her family have had of it. Onwards and upwards now. But thank heavens Shoelace read this thread. Nobel Prize for doggy knowledge, Shoelace
  13. So sorry to read this, teekay, and hope with all my heart that answers and cures are found. Many of us would remember Mya's story of how,she came to you.
  14. OMG! Persephone, you leave Sherlock in your dust. Brilliant work. And PK. That is a coffee cup. Not nearly close enough. We tea and coffee drinkers take our receptacles very seriously. :D
  15. Thank you! And yes, it does suck. I can't believe I'm in tears over a dog we only had for 48 hours! Hopefully we find another furry friend soon This is why I disagree when people say that you’d only had her for xx hours and could not have bonded. It can take just seconds to bond with a dog. However, it has happened, it has been a sad and difficult experience for you and your family and one that I, certainly, would not wish on anyone. You have shown yourselves to be caring, empathetic and generous of heart. Went you finally have a very lucky dog join your family, I am sure I speak for many when I say I hope you keep us updated as to your search and stories and photos of the dog you finally adopt.
  16. I do hope you have some sort of record of any money which has changed hands ... this may get messy Yes, they'll all spend the weekend free of worry and guilt about ignoring the dog, doing what they want and think how much better life is. But will they admit it and make a decision based on the best interests of the dog? Hopefully, but doubt it. Call me cynical? You bet.
  17. Oh dear, Danois. In a previous life, I worked in a private equity company and the main point in the calculations was how much money they could make for themselves. :(
  18. The point is that, in this situation, the owner didn’t seem prepared to make it work.
  19. I’m pretty torn here. If the dog had been advertised online for a couple of weeks, it seems to me that they had plenty of time to absorb what they were doing. Of course, when they actually do that, the ramifications hit home. I would be worried about returning a dog to a home where the people were unable to (presuming here) discuss all sides of the case. When you collected the dog from the original owners, were any other family members there? Do you get any sort of sense of atmosphere as to whether the dog was happy, cared for, etc etc.
  20. Hopefully only care and happiness ahead for the doggies.
  21. It doesn’t matter if the rescue group has one foster or one hundred, they have a duty of care to anyone who fosters for them and to the dogs they take on. If they have (as would appear) left you swinging in the breeze, name them so no one else gets caught up in the manner you seem to have been.
  22. All these issues should be being handled by the group you originally dealt with. Or have they more or less washed their hands of the situation? Perhaps contact Denise at PAWS who "specialises" in small dogs and she would be able to,guide you through the paperwork and legalities and options. Does the owner have any relatives? The group who organised for you to look after the dogs while owner was in hospital should have all the necessary paperwork and should be looking after you and the dogs.
  23. Stunning!! Brilliant costuming and as for the sets!! Definitely Oscar winning. (Aspiring to Opera as well.)
