When a mixed breed is super cute!!!

OMG - it looks as though he has the wrong head. He does seem a delightful boy. -
Feather is not ready to leave me just yet

I hear you, LG I’m getting a bit paranoid as well. My first little foster (now gone home) used to burrow into my neck and I would be constantly checking that her nose was free. Same thing now with the latest foster, Stevie. He burrowed right under the blankets last night, but came out again pretty quickly because he did have a little coat on. -
You all are so funny .......... NOT Actually, they ARE staying temporarily, because they are too young for me. I can’t do their playfulness and youth justice . My three elderlies are quite enough. I am quite enjoying having a house full of dogs again; I just don’t want the responsibilities. Benji needs some mouthing training - I am pretty sure he has been played with roughly and inappropriately during tug playing and he is responding really really well in just the short time he’s been here. Apart from marking all over the house (which has decreased markedly - found only two little ones this morning), 5 years old Stevie doesn’t seem to have a bad bone in his body. They are both serious cuddlers
-
Okay, but don’t blame me if your credit card can’t help but take a hit He really is the sweetest little cuddler. Flies onto the chair behind me, but I am not sure (although have STRONG suspicions) whether it is me or the food on the table he is wanting to get closer to. He is a humper and when he leaves, a couple of cushions will be binned Even though it is just over 24 hours since he came, he is starting to fill out a little and is looking a lot better. I will give him a bath tomorrow so he will be nice and clean before his surgery. Only one “accident” in the house today, so I think his marking was only because all the olfactory evidence of years of different doggies in the house was too much for an excited, free little fellow. I have some more photos which I will put up when transfer between phone and computer happens

To my knowledge he is with PAWS until he finds a home. Edited to add: I looked up your link and despite saying he has a home, the message goes on to read that he is with PAWS for some TLC before rehoming. I think they should change the message and give PAWS’ contact details so anyone seeing him on SDCH could contact PAWS. Anyway, I will suggest that when next talking to Tania. He is much skinnier than those SDCH pix would suggest. He is a voracious eater and came with a slow food bowl . He is like quicksilver, but comes when called and sat when offered treats this morning. He also stopped trying to take my fingers as well when I said “gently”. He’ll be a delight when some work put into his training.

Great Dane x Mastiff

I would be adding meaty raw bones, but I am a teeny tiny dog person LOL. I consider 8kgs big !! Unless there is a medical problem dogs of all and any size love meaty bones. -
It is only temporary. It is only temporary. It is only temporary. Stevie goes to his full time foster carer on Monday after being desexed. Benji is here until he finds his new home. He is a real sweetie (couple of issues with mouthing) but not an ounce of malice. They both behaved impeccably when meeting Diva, a local elderly and large Rough Collie.

OMG!! He is much too thin. But such a handsome dog. Well done on looking for resources to do the right thing by him. Love that your little miss is smitten too -
My doggy numbers have been slowly declining as age has taken its toll and since Danny died last year there has just been Jeune, Tamar and Bunter. Recently, a request popped up in my FB news for someone to mind a little dog while her owner was in hospital for a few weeks. Stella joined the group. OMG What a little darling. Hardest thing in the world to give her back which I had to do yesterday. However, before she left, I “took delivery” of Benji a little boy looking for a new home. And just to add to the mix, I am looking after Stevie for the weekend, a little boy from SDCH who is also looking for a new home. Photo is of me walking five dogs yesterday morning, something that hasn’t happened for a few years. Benji is in front of my legs and Stella is the tiny red girl in lower left corner. And this is Stevie looking resplendent in one of Myrtie’s coats. He was said to be very very timid and he looks it a bit in the photographs, be he is certainly not. He spent most of the night cuddled in the crook of my arm.

Oh that brought back memories. My first dogs were two tiny weeny little Maltese puppies: one was 8 weeks old and one was 9 weeks. I was terrified. A friend of mine from Brisbane decided to come down to visit me as I’d taken a couple of weeks off work to get to know them. The kitchen floor was covered in newspaper and we would step gingerly around the place carefully avoiding little bodies. One day my friend said to me: Cynthia, do you think we will ever walk normally again? Still makes me laugh to think about it.

I once saw an amazing photograph of a woman of 70+ who, having been a dancer, could still do the splits up a light pole. I did Hatha Yoga for a couple of years in my late twenties and wish I’d kept it up. I was never very flexible though and was never able to do even the Lotus. Today despite tottering around like someone of 100, I can still put my fingertips on the floor. What a shame you aren’t in Sydney; I could hire you as a trainer.

You just stay and chat right here, Phyl - you are absolutely in the right place even if it sure didn’t seem like it for a while . Pretty much the vast majority of us here have or have had cross breed dogs LOL. There were just a few people who were a little bit enthusiastic about pushing their own barrows LOL. However, we won’t stay so sweet if we don’t soon see photographic evidence of this little bundle called Pebbles
-
Juice if you go back to Phyl’s first post, she wasn’t looking for advice - she was looking for a dog. I am having difficulty with your rudeness and harshness, particularly when everyone was very supportive of you and your search and from what you have posted, your dog probably has a diverse ancestry and the people who sold him were not very nice.
-
WOW - a pup at 80. Good on you Phyl. I’ll bet you probably look not more than 60, if that, and probably feel about 40, being a long time practioner of yoga. I’ve been babysitting a little L/H Chihuahua (only a few years old) for about 5 weeks at it has been so much fun. It is long time since I’ve had a young dog and she makes me laugh a dozen times a day. Unfortunately, she goes home on Friday - I was thinking of making a run for it with her, but I have to think of my three oldies . However, the organisation (Paws & Recover) has another even younger little dog waiting in the wings for me. . I’ll have to delve deep into the recesses and try to remember some training.

Phyl, for what it’s worth, I thought some of the posts here were totally out of line, unwarranted and unnecessarily judgemental. Some people think because they are across an issue and know the ins and out, that everybody else should be, and no excuses if they aren’t. Like the old saying, they use a sledgehammer to crack a nut and in the process alienate the newcomer. That said, no matter how delightful, how beautiful, how gorgeously natured a little dog who is a cross between a Maltese and a Poodle is just that: a cross between a Poodle and a Maltese. There is no such breed as a Moodle. A little dog who is the offspring of a Maltese and a Poodle, despite whatever the website you linked wants to say and promote, is not a purebred, it is a cross breed. Again: there is no such breed as a Moodle.

Loving my Oldies replied to Kirislin's topic in General Dog Discussion
Ain't that the truth? However, I have been baby sitting a young doggy (about 4 L/h Chihuahua) for the past 5 weeks and I can tell you, it has been so much fun having a young very playful dog around. She makes me laugh so many time a day. It is going to be tough giving her back to her family. -
She may be bruised or worse internally. No matter how well she is moving, please still take her to the vet for a thorough check. Maybe the vet could prescribe some Valium. It transformed my storm phobic little girl from a quivering wreck to totally relaxed within about 20 minutes of dose.
