How To Tidy Up The Endless Supply Of Doggy Stuff ...
Loving my Oldies replied to Tilly's topic in General Dog Discussion
Deck: I have hooks on the deck for the dogs leads - they get too smelly to be hung inside. Laundry: I have a basket with all their bushes, combs, shampoos etc in the laundry. Study: All their bedding is in a cupboard in the study and their coats are in a basket on top of the cupboard in the study. Kitchen: One cupboard section in the kitchen is for storing their dried food, treats, bowls, etc. Deck: Their toys and bones are rounded up each evening and thrown into a basket on the deck. Living Area: I have bedding for them in the living area and in the study and this is gathered up and washed every few days. No wonder my water use is going through the roof So reading back over that, it seems as though the house is pretty well designed around the dogs . Not exactly a joke as the main requirement for when I was looking for a new house was that it had a large yard for the dogs to sniff around and for me to garden and if not a deck already built, the room to add one. Edited: Garage: (I forgot the garage) Spare leads and crates. Gussy Cat's beds and food. -
Is It Posible She Is Depressed?

What is the background, that is the story behind bully being taken to pound, how close were they, who was bully, how long was he there, etc etc. -
I'm happy to put my hand up for the smuggling into hospital job, but ChiChi may not make it back to her foster mum's house -

Keeping The Candles Lit For Jed
Loving my Oldies replied to Loving my Oldies's topic in General Dog Discussion
To be honest, I haven't lit a real one; I just keep returning to the website for the virtual one. Having had my own fire a couple of days after Jed's in which no real damage done, (but I have already paid out nearly $7,500 - hopefully the insurance company will be as fast at paying bills as I am - replacing metres, etc) the idea of even a little candle burning is too scary for words. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=195996 -
One of the reasons I like Optrex is that dogs get dust and muck in their eyes as well and they end up liking having their eyes washed. I don't even use the Optrex all the time; I regularly wipe their eyes with cotton wool balls soaked in just warm water.

And Optrex eye wash from the chemist. It lasts for ages.

I'll PM you my address so you can do that for my house as well. It's like a waiting room too ..... six dogs waiting to be taken for a walk. I'm sure Jed won't begrudge your using your magical powers for such a good cause, ie less time taken up cleaning house means more time spent with my dogs - LOL.

Banshee Learnt A Trick And Made A Friend
Loving my Oldies replied to yellowgirl's topic in General Dog Discussion
Shoot!! That can really be called going ahead in leaps and bounds. You must be so happy YG to see this confidence coming to the fore. I bet Kelpiehoundmum and Shannon will treasure the experience and photograph as well. -
Brrrrrr ...... sure is warmer in here than at my place, even with the heaters blasting away. Hope Jed is nice and cosy. I reckon she'll just grab her drip line and run to the other end of the hospital with all the singing and the howling of the dogs. I haven't worn ear plugs since I lived on a six line highway in London, 1000 and one years ago. :p

Had to google, of course :p . Stunning.

Well Mufti is very happily eating his food with some tomato paste in it. I will be watching his little bott very carefully 1. To see if he stops biting (I know the paste isn't for that - LOL) 2. To see if it starts to fade. He is such a dear boy, he deserves to be pristine.

Now all you have to do is mount a fan on the front and she will think she is in the car. Every Lady deserves her Chariot.

If people who care don't make things that worry them their business, the world would be a much worse place. Two highlighted pieces here. A lot of BYBs don't care about the age of a dog: they'll breed the poor things until they drop dead. The old owners are every bit as bad as the new owner for having so little care about their dog. If the new owner has been alerted to you and knows your voice and name, can't you get a friend to do all the contact and buying on your behalf? I know you don't feel you can rescue the dog personally, but maybe if you have a big think, you could. Then have all the necessary veterinary procedures undertaken and rehome her to an Irish Setter knowedgable person.

How Am I To Take This
Loving my Oldies replied to Loving my Oldies's topic in General Dog Discussion
A few years ago, I was walking the dogs and Gussy Cat was trailing along behind us. A woman who was out with her daughter on her little tricycle greeted me and said something along the lines of: oh my husband told me there was a woman who walked her dogs and her cat. She doubted him until she saw me -

I live in a very quiet area, but 50 metres down the road is a little group of shops one of which is a grooming palour. The husband and wife are breeders and showers of Standards and at last count I think they had about 12 or 13. They also help with rescue when they are able. So when it is time to realise your dream Blue Fox . . . . . .
