  1. Very scary stuff, Ms Genki and lots of healing thoughts going out to your girl (and you :D ) for a quick and full recovery.
  2. These sorts of events are awful when it rains and the whole weekend is going to be wet apparently. I feel so sorry for people who plan to have stalls at these events.
  3. The old owners  ;) . What a cheek. If it weren't for the paperwork you need, I would ignore them. Perhaps in this case, just a quick message that everyone is well, and would you please complete and forward the necessary paperwork.
  4. Everyone always picks on me. Actually today I had the curtains opened, the blinds up and, boy, did I get some photos. My Gussy Cat was in the front yard and Renny loves cats ---- to chase. He had pulled all the couch cushions down and was standing right up against the window. HOWEVER, my #$%^&E%#$% computer won't read the card. It has been only reading spasmodically ever since I took it down to where I purchased it for something else that was wrong. It (the computer) is now out of warranty. :D I'll give it another go tonight.
  5. ;) I've had to quote EVERY post so far in this thread - I am just so happy for you all. It certainly does and I am off to join you from afar. Cheers. Yep, fantastic job. Me too :D Spottychick writes in a way you can just visualise everything. I can see you taking the deep breath, see Tango's bum and body wiggle, Pepper gloriously confident leading the way. Now that's a great name for a DOLer.
  6. Fully agree with this post and support your actions, Kirst_Goldens.
  7. Just bumping this as Jed stills needs lots of healing and loving thoughts.
  8. Good news. It is good to hear that Max and Zack are progressing well. That man is very brave! 18 stitches ----- those bites would have HURT big time.
  9. I hear you yellowgirl. I wish one of mine would get that message. Yes she is lucky you love her . With regard to her leg, I'd be going for a second opinion. I know you will probably end up on no speaking terms with all the vets ( ), but cutting may not be necessary. Hugs and kisses to YOU and then for the other gorgeous 4.
  10. Good morning, Jed. Hope you are warm and as comfy as possible. Looking so forward to the day we see you waddle down the corridors to see us all in the waiting room. Oooh, big help. Although I do have the site in my fav'rits, this makes it easy. We have plenty of warmth and love to extend to you RnL. Keep warm and rest up.
  11. They must really like it at your place, P. I think I am just going to have to find the funds to redesign my gardens so I have a pond that will attract the froggies. I keep checking behind the plaque on the front of the house :D You'll all know it if they return
  12. Oh aren't they gorgeous . I haven't seen my "wildlife" for a while. I guess that have moved to warmer climes. I keep checking though and hope they will return eventually. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?show...=193723&hl=
  13. I was thinking the same. Can anything beat the sight of dogs running and playing without a care in the world? Beautiful photos, CC.
  14. You and your dogs are always so entertaining. Beautiful photos.
  15. Brrrrrrrrr shiver shiver. Great shot, persephone. Who is doggy?
  16. How absolutely thrilling ... CONGRATULATIONS !!
  17. I have started minding a gorgeous Manchester Terrier one day a week. His totally besotted owner drops him off on Thursday night and collects him Friday evening. It is wonderful to report that he is starting to feel at home and very much welcomed. I went out to check where he was - all dogs love my backyard because it is quite large and has dozens of dogs run around it, but it wanted to be sure he was okay. He sure was:
  18. Megan, your aplogies more than accepted . We need to hear more about the adventures of Lucy.
  19. "Fobbing off" isn't what I was suggesting nor even hinting at. If you read the OP, it seems from what she was able to see that day was not a dog who had toileting issues nor a dog that had issues with men. Further temp assessment needed (Cosmolo is set up for these, I think) definitely, but I like to think dogs stand a chance if there is one and if it could prove to be the best for the dog (ie a 'happy ever after' ending). I have seen several times in the past few days that people are not reading entire threads and leap in without bothering to get the full story. As I said in my post, the poor little chap's biggest problem was his awful owner. As for adopting old dogs, just read a few of dogmad's stories and a few of mine. We are both older dog people because that is where we are drawn. And this attitude doesn't even bear commenting on, but I will in an effort to "educate" Megan. Very few rescuers would "fob off" any of their dogs, we love them too much and want only the best for them AND FOR THE PEOPLE WHO ADOPT THEM. By saying something like this, you discredit yourself more than anyone else.
  20. Another place to try is Rescued with Love. They deal with lots of oldies . I'd love to help, but I have recently taken on two oldies to save them from being killed in the pound. I'm with you Kirst-Goldens. The little guy is probably fine and maybe his only problem was his dreadful owner. A lot of people would find this hard to understand. Please let us know how Sampson fares. Signing off before I get a warning.
  21. Such a relief to get a positive update. I'm sure I wasn't the only one feeling nervous. We can all a little more easily tonight and dream of a healed Jed.
  22. Gosh, all the wonderful things you do for your dogs. I like the idea of a Snuggle Disk. Except for Sari, all of mine sleep on the bed with me and I put polar fleece throws on their side (Yeah right - every side is their side, but I can hope ), so they can scratch around and snuggle in. I put a coat on Jeune, but even so, she still digs in under all the bedclothes.
  23. Good morning. Another day to Up 'n' at 'em, Jed. Or at least another step towards that. How y'all goin'? (In my best fake Southern USA accent ) We have some sunshine here and I am hoping it lasts long enough to get out and walk the dogs. They have been perfect in the waiting room, just lying around sleeping and giving the occasional big big stretch. Is there any chance that someone could deputise for Jed and give us an update on how she is travelling these past few days? Pleeeeeeeeeazzzzzzzze. Begging -
  24. I don't go out of my way to give my dogs alone time. However, from time to time they get shut out to give ME alone time - LOL.
