  1. There looks like a little "ring in" there.
  2. We look forward to seeing: My Two Dogs, threads very soon.
  3. I have Ilium Neocort in the dogs' "medicine chest" but I wouldn't use until consulting the vet. Glad that Madeline's excuse to get on the medical bandwagon has subsided. Hope it stays away now. Cuddle cuddle .....
  4. I've posted all the links in Rescue. Hopefully some help will come about.
  5. I have no idea about their policies re taking dogs, but: http://www.sippycreek.com.au/ Off the highway, not far from Buderim.
  6. It might be tough, Pipsal, but in your situation, I would be inclined to takes the pups back with me to Brisbane. I would drive so I could take my time and keep them under observation. I say this, because knowing how you have put heart and soul into these dogs and their mum, I think it would be even tougher not to take them with you. They might not even get into adulthood if you left them there. I wish I could help, but I'm in Sydney.
  7. Now that's a thought!! I wonder if you realise, Jed, that you have now set a precedent and we will want all your wise posts and thoughts on video now. Words on a page will not be enough. Hope you haven't overdone it. Slowly and steadily . . . . . . .
  8. I watched the video in amazement. Have just one thing to say: Jane! Stop scratching your hands. Bad girl !!
  9. I am meeting Kisho's prospective new mum on Wednesday. She lives in Canberra and I live near Hornsby so we are going to meet halfway. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=198022 Because neither of us knows the area at all, I though I'd ask here. I know there are lots of parks and open spaces, but thought it would be good to be able to let the dogs off their leads. It isn't absolutely necessary, but just makes their interaction a bit more natural and relaxed. Grateful any ideas - even fenced parks if such a thing exists.
  10. More than wise. B&B is potentially a killer. The only fertiliser I use in the back yard (where the dogs have 24/7 access) is Seasol, because it is watered in. I did try Rooster Booster ONCE ... the dogs loved it and so never used it again. They are only ever in the front yard on leads as we walk through on our walks so I use the Rooster Booster there. I just don't trust ANYTHING.
  11. I'm generally pretty sanguine about my ordinary photographs, but this one was truly awful, so I tried to paint it out - LOL.
  12. I don't know where this idea comes from. Depending on where you want to live... AND keep your pets.. it isn't that difficult to find a rental in Sydney at all. I am in a 3br house, garage, decent size block etc in a nice area where MANY people are renting with dogs.... and I'm only 10mins from Parramatta CBD. It took looking at 2 houses and that was it. We were actually offered both but chose this one as it had more space. Yes, I had the same experience. Admittedly it was some years ago, but it took just one phone call from me. The person I was looking for had 4 dogs, and she had 4 houses to choose from. And that was in the inner west. She ended up in a large house with a huge back yard and a very large undercover deck at the back.
  13. Good heavens - what a stunner. Ivy will be beating off the girlies wanting HER playmate.
  14. I'm surprised that Ronda hasn't come to the party, really. Doesn't she have a property with kennels, or did all that fall over?
  15. Oooh, poor little darling. The skin is such a troublesome organism that anything could have caused it, really. I get outbreaks that look a little bit like that on my leg of all places. I just keep the moisturiser (unscented of course) up.
  16. What an honour Jed has bestowed on the DOL community by sharing with us these precious photographs and the unfathomable depths of grief and pain she must be going through. It's almost undone me, frankly.
  17. On Fridays, I have a lovely Manchester Terrier stay with me and he has a martingale collar. I love it. I walk my own dogs on harnesses and also have the soft material "check" collars bought years ago. These are the same principle as the martingale, but don't clip on easily like the martingale, and need to be adjusted each time you use them. Renny (my Friday boy) is a bit of a puller but after he has settled down from the intial excitement of all the different smells, he is fine with martingale and responds to correction.
  18. Agree, but in the meantime, you must have been worried sick, GayleK . Now where are the photos of the Made Over Lady in Pink
  19. That's what I thought too. Such eloquence, such erudition, so nuanced
