  1. I watched the video in amazement. Have just one thing to say: Jane! Stop scratching your hands. Bad girl !!
  2. I am meeting Kisho's prospective new mum on Wednesday. She lives in Canberra and I live near Hornsby so we are going to meet halfway. http://www.dolforums.com.au/index.php?showtopic=198022 Because neither of us knows the area at all, I though I'd ask here. I know there are lots of parks and open spaces, but thought it would be good to be able to let the dogs off their leads. It isn't absolutely necessary, but just makes their interaction a bit more natural and relaxed. Grateful any ideas - even fenced parks if such a thing exists.
  3. More than wise. B&B is potentially a killer. The only fertiliser I use in the back yard (where the dogs have 24/7 access) is Seasol, because it is watered in. I did try Rooster Booster ONCE ... the dogs loved it and so never used it again. They are only ever in the front yard on leads as we walk through on our walks so I use the Rooster Booster there. I just don't trust ANYTHING.
  4. I'm generally pretty sanguine about my ordinary photographs, but this one was truly awful, so I tried to paint it out - LOL.
  5. I don't know where this idea comes from. Depending on where you want to live... AND keep your pets.. it isn't that difficult to find a rental in Sydney at all. I am in a 3br house, garage, decent size block etc in a nice area where MANY people are renting with dogs.... and I'm only 10mins from Parramatta CBD. It took looking at 2 houses and that was it. We were actually offered both but chose this one as it had more space. Yes, I had the same experience. Admittedly it was some years ago, but it took just one phone call from me. The person I was looking for had 4 dogs, and she had 4 houses to choose from. And that was in the inner west. She ended up in a large house with a huge back yard and a very large undercover deck at the back.
  6. Good heavens - what a stunner. Ivy will be beating off the girlies wanting HER playmate.
  7. I'm surprised that Ronda hasn't come to the party, really. Doesn't she have a property with kennels, or did all that fall over?
  8. Oooh, poor little darling. The skin is such a troublesome organism that anything could have caused it, really. I get outbreaks that look a little bit like that on my leg of all places. I just keep the moisturiser (unscented of course) up.
  9. What an honour Jed has bestowed on the DOL community by sharing with us these precious photographs and the unfathomable depths of grief and pain she must be going through. It's almost undone me, frankly.
  10. On Fridays, I have a lovely Manchester Terrier stay with me and he has a martingale collar. I love it. I walk my own dogs on harnesses and also have the soft material "check" collars bought years ago. These are the same principle as the martingale, but don't clip on easily like the martingale, and need to be adjusted each time you use them. Renny (my Friday boy) is a bit of a puller but after he has settled down from the intial excitement of all the different smells, he is fine with martingale and responds to correction.
  11. Agree, but in the meantime, you must have been worried sick, GayleK . Now where are the photos of the Made Over Lady in Pink
  12. That's what I thought too. Such eloquence, such erudition, so nuanced
  13. How amazing to hear that you are able to switch onto another lifeline, Jed . . . . . . DOL I don't think anyone even in the most robust of health could tackle this thread in one go and we don't want you relapsing through exhaustion. I am sure I am not alone in saying that I feel gutted when I think of the loss of your beautiful creatures. You have probably shed and will continue to shed an ocean of tears. We hope with all our hearts that time will heal your body and your heart, Jed.
  14. I was just about doubled up in pain reading your description, LuvLottie. Poor little Astro. I think you might be scratching your head for lying down activities for Astro long before the month is up. I think you just have to find some interesting books to read to her - LOL. Beautiful dogs, all of them
  15. How extremely distressing for you ILDD . I wonder why the police don't put the frighteners on him if they know who the person is? Can people put up pretend CCTV cameras?
  16. Miss BeRidg - good luck with your efforts. I did a letterbox drop in just a couple of streets around where I live and the goodies I collected was amazing. Even if something is nearly worn out, I assure people they are fine too. Even if the kennels get one use out of something and then toss it out, it is a help. How wonderful for the dogs to get taken to the beach. What a great shelter.
  17. I'm getting a bit like that. I have even bought blankets for myself on ebay. I love them as they are so warm and so light and dry in 3 seconds. LOL
  18. How wonderful to get first hand news of Jed. She must be feeling much better for you to be able to spend so much time with her. Great news. And now, Jed, just a few words to you. Don't feel pressured or anything, but we expect lots and lotds of photos of your hospital room covered in cards and letters - LOL. You and yours are constantly in the thoughts of Mooch City.
  19. Oh, the poor darling ;) . I hope you can get to the bottom of it and it is something that is easily medicated.
  20. OT: When are you going to change your signature, b.b. Badg is getting upset - he told me
