Exactly. It could simply be that the RSPCA feels that a quiet environment would suit her best.

Thanks to you Jed for letting us know you are there. For you to actually even think that others might want to know how you are going, but to actually acknowledge that takes enormous strength of character and compassion. Your pain, both physical and emotional must be so great. What an amazing example to us you are. Let us hope that we would be able to do the same in similar circumstances.

How awful for you and your dogs, Rach. Don't have any advice, you are upset enough and wondering what on earth to do, but I did think along the lines of what Dust Angel said. Hope little Pom heals well and this doesn't happen again.

Banshee At The Vets Again
Loving my Oldies replied to yellowgirl's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Good idea. I am sure I'm not alone in saying we feel for this little girl, you and your gorgeous ones and hope you can find a remedy for whatever ails her. I am really sorry to read this, Y/G. Poor Banshee and poor you. I having nothing in terms of what could be wrong, but I'd be investigating a Chiro as Wolfsong says. What I have being led to believe over the years is that hunching means pain/sick/something wrong. Hugs and kisses to you all -
Because of another discussion, I decided to have a look at G**tree Someone won't get too many takers for their Chihuahua puppies....... $80,000.00 each

Thanks for the update, Iffykharma. I for one have wondered from time to time how Indy has been getting on. I'm glad that she has been given a chance to flourish and to find a loving caring home. Love the jaw: maybe she should have been called Winnie LOL. I would certainly be loath to pass judgement on her and say she is beyond redemption. It has been only one and a half months and who knows how she will respond after more love and time. It would be a different story had she been an older dog and has sustained injuries that would have left her in pain and/or discomfort. She is healthy and beautiful and in the right hands should be given every chance to prove herself.

Terribly sad when you love them so much. But in the final analysis, their wellbeing is the only consideration.

That is more than stupid It would more than piss me off. It would result in a HUGE fight and if they didn't stop, I would walk out with my dog.

Today when people can be very strict about their dog's diet, particularly if the dog has an intolerance or is being treated via a specific diet regime, I think it is wrong. Some as petting a strange dog: ask first. Different in the family though. I let my dogs lick the bowls

Sick Of Big Dogs Stalking My Swf What Can I Do?
Loving my Oldies replied to MalteseLuna's topic in General Dog Discussion
Well said, poodlefan. I tell that to people who wonder why their children are afraid or anxious about dogs. Even a small dog can be big to the child. We'd be pretty worried if a strange horse wandered across the park to have a sniff at us. -

Excellent post, DerRottweilier --- NOT !! Exactly. I'm pretty tired of people who talk about small dog syndrome. If there is any syndrome involved, it is that of the owners and there are several operating I think: 1. They think because there dogs are small and cute (sometimes) they don't have to be trained. 2. The first thing they do when they see another dog is pick their dog up. 3. They don't correct their dogs when they start barking just because they see another dog 4. Generally speaking, little dogs don't get any training. And so on. I walk several dogs at once and because I can never be sure that one won't give a bark and set the others off when I see larger and unknown dogs coming towards me, I cross over the street and let the owner of the other dog know I am doing it because mine might bark at their dog. I know it is rude, I know owners of other dogs hate it, especially when their dog is beautifully behaved. There is a woman around the corner from me who has an SWF and a Border Collie. The BC is one of the most beautifully behaved dogs you would ever want to meet and hopefully the SWF will learn from him, but the woman has absolutely no control and when she walks them (her husband must be away because generally he walks the BC) she is like this being pulled along by the little dog and the BC is following suit. The first thing she does if anyone gets close is to pick the little dog up . I tell her not to, but she is too scared. -
Keeping The Candles Lit For Jed

Bumping to get those candles lit -
I used to have a dog like yours. She would literally go towards the corner of the kitchen and turn her back to me.

That's the one. The park is huge, but we kept to the fenced area. I contemplated popping into the Real Estate agent - LOL. -

I'll put a link to this in rescue. I have just come back from Bowral where I met with Kisho's new mum and "sister" at Centennial Park. Gosh, Clyde - what a great fenced park you found for us :D thank you so much. It is fully fenced, double gated, bin, pooh bags, tap and big bucket. I arrived first so I walked all around the perimeter and the fencing (which is not very high, about up to my shoulder and I am short, so probably 4ft) is right to the ground with no gaps. And it is really big with a couple of copses of trees. Only one thing wrong and there aren't any picnic tables or bench seats, but that is neither here nor there. If anyone wants to arrange a meet and greet, I couldn't think of a better place. A few people came and went while we were there, but all the dogs were friendly and well behaved ..... as were the people - LOL. -
There looks like a little "ring in" there.

We look forward to seeing: My Two Dogs, threads very soon.

Another Dog, Another 'thing'
Loving my Oldies replied to yellowgirl's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
I have Ilium Neocort in the dogs' "medicine chest" but I wouldn't use until consulting the vet. Glad that Madeline's excuse to get on the medical bandwagon has subsided. Hope it stays away now. Cuddle cuddle ..... -

What If I Can't Find Homes For Them?
Loving my Oldies replied to Pipsal's topic in General Dog Discussion
It might be tough, Pipsal, but in your situation, I would be inclined to takes the pups back with me to Brisbane. I would drive so I could take my time and keep them under observation. I say this, because knowing how you have put heart and soul into these dogs and their mum, I think it would be even tougher not to take them with you. They might not even get into adulthood if you left them there. I wish I could help, but I'm in Sydney.
