She is talking - LOL. Danny is driving me nuts at night. Growls all the time, he is half asleep and if anyone moves, he growls; if I move to pull up the blankets, he growls; and on and on and on. I'm practising my growling to get back at him.

Scared Of Making The Same Mistakes
Loving my Oldies replied to Henrietta's topic in General Dog Discussion
Every dog is different, Emm. There may be or may be not some things you "do wrong" with the next dog, but the biggest mistake would be to not give another dog that love and care you have given your current one -
Tango's At The Vets Tonight
Loving my Oldies replied to spottychick's topic in Health / Nutrition / Grooming
Bugger, I was going to ask that. I think the Optovisor was on The Inventors (or New Inventors) a while ago and I did post here. The guy invented it because his dogs had continual problem with his eyes and needed protection. B*&^%y person in vet clinic. I'd report her . Hopefully the optovisor will do the trick. -
I don't know that I go along with this, S/chick, unless it is just verbal on the facebook site. However, one of the problems we face today is that all levels of government have divested themselves of caring for the mentally ill. Institutions have been shut because so many were hell holes, but nothing was put in place for people such as this man. He obviously shouldn't be allowed in the community, but there is no where for him to go where he would be safe and the community would be safe. Gods knows what the solution is.

Keeping The Candles Lit For Jed
Loving my Oldies replied to Loving my Oldies's topic in General Dog Discussion
Wassa matta . Not good, we want you well. I've lit a candle for you too. I have just got some random infected tonsil bug! NAsty little bugger, but I'm all good really, just very sore. I have lit another one Poor you! Hope the ABs are kicking in to get you back on track. -
It can be virtually impossible for us to find meanings in tragedies; the hurt must be so intense. Even if we don't post or keep our candles burning, I am sure there are many hundreds of people who think of you, Jed, what you have lost and the long healing road ahead, every day and even several times a day. And it wouldn't be the "thank god it didn't happen to me" thought, it would be thinking of you with deepest compassion and wishing we could do more for you, realising your terrible loss and thinking of the wonderful animals you have owned and bred and sent on to wonderful homes.

Agree. Old dogs are just so special and precious. Makes me want to shed a happy tear whenever I see them trotting proudly next to their human companions. My Mufti the Magnificent takes himself downstairs (via the ramp) to lie in the sunshine. I've taken one of the trampoline beds down so he can be more comfortable, but maybe they prefer the ground?

See Jed's post in the "In the News" thread. She still needs lots of healing vibes and candles of love and care. -
Ah, Jed. It must be so painful, missing your dogs. Thank you for reminding us to treasure every moment we have with them. Mufti, my oldest boy, is on my lap; Danny in under the desk having licked clean my bowl of risotto, Myrtie is rolling on the remains of a bone, Tamar is in a bed big enough for three dogs and Jeune is in bed meant for a dog half her size. We must keep up the healing vibes and candles of love to help your heart and your eyes.

Mum Got Me A New Puppy Yeah
Loving my Oldies replied to little tails's topic in General Dog Discussion
Sooo beautiful. How can I ever forget Marnie and the others !! So big and all adults now. -
Ha ha ha ----- isn't it wonderful to know that you can post something like that on a forum and you'll probably have hundreds of other people jumping for joy as well. Go Alaska !!! ;) How great it is too that you have a neighbour who can enter into your love of the dogs and be so excited to see their advancement.

whoops - posted twice. -
No way!! down in the shed, pumping them out, pumping them out. Nothing wrong with a bit of patella luxation, and most of the suckers puppy buyers wont know the pups have their back legs on back to front Chi x JRT, chi x poos - chipoos!! Very popular. Can't keep a good puppy farmer down, Mother Moocher, you should know that, and I now have official confirmation from the RSPCA that I am a good ethical breeder, with beautifully kept and well socialised dogs so I can trade on that!! Prices going up. Hmm, I was worried that these sorts of plans might be festering. How you can even contemplate ChiChi for that sort of profession is beyond me. I thought you realised she was a ONE OFF and never to be duplicated. If I am going to dognap her when I visit Queensland next month, I don't want to find her replica around any corner, thank you very much. Legs on back to front or otherwise. And as I am going to be there for the Dodgy Doggy Finals at the Ekka, I was thinking of sneaking her in there too. I doubt I have any say in the matter though seeing that the RSPCA is on your side now.

The right dog could be a real bloke magnet for you MM.. Shall I cook something up to order? Here ya go MM - no real man will be able to resist the lady who owns this dog! Close, but brown makes me feel depressed . Does he come in a noice cyclamen colour? . My Guinness cans would show up a little better as well.
-
Hmm, ain't got no man in me loife . I'll just have to encourage those who do to order from the best shonky kennels around.

Quite off topic, but it is some that has irked me for a long time. It may sound petty and pedantic, but I am so opposed to Council Pounds calling themselves "Shelters". It's like giving a coat of paint to a prison, planting a few trees and calling it a resort. If they are killing animals, they are not a "Shelter".
