The Pamplona Bull Run: Little Dog In The Mix

Rommi n Lewis, you need educating. Sadly, that photo is relatively tame. I get a lot of mailouts from the various organisations I donate to, and I cannot even look at them. I just write a cheque every so often and sign petitions -
The Pamplona Bull Run: Little Dog In The Mix

The beauty of youth. When I was travelling in Spain (over 40 years ago ), I wanted to do that and even wanted to see a bullfight. But now? I hope bullfighting is eventually banned, unbelievably cruel and anyone who wants to do the Bull Run is crazy to take such a risk. Statistics are fine, but they don't mean much if you are the one with a horn up your groin. -
Max $200 Wow, that may limit you I believe. Sydney rents are incredibly overpriced at the moment. Bark is looking to share so if someone has a three bedroomed house with a vacant bedroom, it is possible . Hopefully something will come up quickly.

There was a thread recently about House Sitting with your own dog and most people responded in the negative, that is, they would not want a house sitter coming with their own dog. Just don't want you spending too much time chasing down dead ends, Bark.

Luki - Parvo Survivor

Oh those photos with Jack are splendid. And the one of Luki and Bailey . Can it be true, he was ever that tiny and skinny . Wonderful photos telling wonderful stories of love. -
I'm not one for cliches, but something has been going over and over in my mind when I was thinking about you Jed, and it just wouldn't coalesce, but finally it has. What I think epitomises your experience and how you have faced it is the old saying: When the going gets tough, the tough get going.

Yes, I've had a few It's amazing really when you consider how many different sorts of pets and people they'd see in any one day.

She is talking - LOL. Danny is driving me nuts at night. Growls all the time, he is half asleep and if anyone moves, he growls; if I move to pull up the blankets, he growls; and on and on and on. I'm practising my growling to get back at him.

Scared Of Making The Same Mistakes
Loving my Oldies replied to Henrietta's topic in General Dog Discussion
Every dog is different, Emm. There may be or may be not some things you "do wrong" with the next dog, but the biggest mistake would be to not give another dog that love and care you have given your current one -

Bugger, I was going to ask that. I think the Optovisor was on The Inventors (or New Inventors) a while ago and I did post here. The guy invented it because his dogs had continual problem with his eyes and needed protection. B*&^%y person in vet clinic. I'd report her . Hopefully the optovisor will do the trick. -
I don't know that I go along with this, S/chick, unless it is just verbal on the facebook site. However, one of the problems we face today is that all levels of government have divested themselves of caring for the mentally ill. Institutions have been shut because so many were hell holes, but nothing was put in place for people such as this man. He obviously shouldn't be allowed in the community, but there is no where for him to go where he would be safe and the community would be safe. Gods knows what the solution is.

Keeping The Candles Lit For Jed
Loving my Oldies replied to Loving my Oldies's topic in General Dog Discussion
Wassa matta . Not good, we want you well. I've lit a candle for you too. I have just got some random infected tonsil bug! NAsty little bugger, but I'm all good really, just very sore. I have lit another one Poor you! Hope the ABs are kicking in to get you back on track. -
It can be virtually impossible for us to find meanings in tragedies; the hurt must be so intense. Even if we don't post or keep our candles burning, I am sure there are many hundreds of people who think of you, Jed, what you have lost and the long healing road ahead, every day and even several times a day. And it wouldn't be the "thank god it didn't happen to me" thought, it would be thinking of you with deepest compassion and wishing we could do more for you, realising your terrible loss and thinking of the wonderful animals you have owned and bred and sent on to wonderful homes.

Agree. Old dogs are just so special and precious. Makes me want to shed a happy tear whenever I see them trotting proudly next to their human companions. My Mufti the Magnificent takes himself downstairs (via the ramp) to lie in the sunshine. I've taken one of the trampoline beds down so he can be more comfortable, but maybe they prefer the ground?

See Jed's post in the "In the News" thread. She still needs lots of healing vibes and candles of love and care. -
Ah, Jed. It must be so painful, missing your dogs. Thank you for reminding us to treasure every moment we have with them. Mufti, my oldest boy, is on my lap; Danny in under the desk having licked clean my bowl of risotto, Myrtie is rolling on the remains of a bone, Tamar is in a bed big enough for three dogs and Jeune is in bed meant for a dog half her size. We must keep up the healing vibes and candles of love to help your heart and your eyes.
