  1. What a relief it has turned out okay. I'd be worried about bark chip as well, frankly. All I can think of to suggest is to use those "stuck down" stone pavers. If you are wanting to use mulch, just use pea straw or sugar cane mulch. Let us know how things go.
  2. Photos of that river are scary enough; in real life with your dog in it Your life is full of adventure, spotty
  3. OMG, spotty, your stories are supposed to have us in fits of laughter, not chilled to the bone with fear . What a terrifying experience for you, while the boy thinks it is all good fun. If you intend keeping Dylan, you'd better start putting in ramps, bars to hold onto in the shower and around stairs, get an emergency call button to hang around your neck, etc etc because you are going to age very quickly. ;) . I think I've aged just reading about his antics.
  4. I'm so glad everything went well :D . I hope you were able to relax and enjoy your holiday -- mostly :D I wouldn't be happy about a stinky kennel. I'd definitely say something about that. Everyone will be getting lots of cuddles and kisses tonight. BTW: I am boarding two littlle dogs for 10 days. One of them is Nilla (previously Vanilla) whom I rescued/fostered for several months end of the last year beginning of this. And one I rehomed with her from SOS. They are both very much loved, but I hope the 10 days go quickly - LOL - I'm out of the habit of having 7 dogs around the place. Nah! They are gorgeous and her mum told me she became very excited when she realised where she was going; she came through the side gate at a belting run straight up to me. So that was nice.
  5. This is pretty extreme. In all serious, how can you DESPISE a cat or kitten or a dog? You may be ambivalent or not at all interested, but DESPISE ??? I find that quite extraordinary.
  6. OMG, a pimple squeezing trip around Australia to be organised
  7. Sad isn't it .Deelee, have you ever asked your husband about his childhood experience of dogs to see if you can get to the bottom of it? I still have a habit that was formed before I was five. I cannot help but check enything that makes a bump on the road (things that have blown out of cars, shoes, pillows, sandbags, tree branches, etc etc) because my immediate thought is that it might be a dead animal. Try as I might, and even though only twice in my whole life has the "bump" been a dead animal, I cannot stop myself from doing it. And apparently when I was still a child, I would become hysterical screaming to dad to slow down because there was a dead animal on the road.
  8. I'll have to start a list . . . . . . :D :D
  9. This is such a wonderful thread. Great work, yellowgirl. More reasons for me to move to Adelaide Will ya pulease stop this talk about squeezing pimples ... I am one of those disgusting people who LOVES squeezing pimples and black/white heads and I am jealous. She is tiny - we needed to see Kasey to really see how tiny. Now they are the sorts of vets you want to have: 1. for helping you out financially, and 2. wanting to expand their knowledge.
  10. OMG s/chick. I hope some of those people send you the photos. They will be wonderful in the books that you plan to write :D And how about that Dylan. He knows when he is onto a good thing.
  11. My immediate thought was that they wouldn't be as harsh, because I have seen plenty of people walking dogs on check chains who haven't got a clue. ;) I would have thought the noise would be muffled. I would also think that it would be very easy for an owner to know whether the dog/s were reacting to the noise. The noise comes first and then the tightened chain :D
  12. OMG! I've just thought of something. S/chick at the park calling, "Dyl, where are you? Dyl?? Dyl??" Person at the park, "Who have you lost?" S/chick, "Dylly, my Dally." Well, I though it was funny :D
  13. Looks normal to me :D I know how you feel. That bed looks so snuggly and to have Dylan as well ...... what more could you ask.
  14. This is the horrible part of it. People who steal dogs and other animals have no concept of how much suffering they are going to endure .... and care even less, I am sure ;) But it is just so wonderful that he is home.
  15. OMG how fantastic. His family must be totally over the moon.
  16. "But darling, it's just a bit of hot air ."
  17. Oh gosh, that second one is priceless. Look at Xena's little mohawk because of too much sweetness overload - LOL.
  18. What a little honey and that gorgeous Kasey wins the prize for Best Buddy Ever.
  19. Wow!! Fabulous dog, fabulous place!! I love the one at the top of the stairway. I'd like something like that in my back yard - LOL.
  20. Not sure which way to tackle this: Just about sorted myself out and along come those pesky flies. I'll show them who's boss:
  21. It has been said a squillion times, but I WISH THEY COULD TALK ;) Maybe Pepper was just plain jealous!
  22. Well, I am sure the judges have heard my shrieks of laughter - that is just sooooo funny. Off to vote, though!!
